  1. Jeff, are you sending everyone's contributions back to them after your show?

For the comic book covers that I purchased the comics and sent them out, there is some talk happening about doing something with them along the lines of an auction with proceeds going to charities. As for other contributions/donations, any that have been asked to be returned will be done so after the show yes. There are some pieces in the show (prototypes, design art etc) that have been donated for use in the show and they will be returned after the show, as per an agreement signed between myself and the donators.

  2. YB, where does that gif come from?

Agreed, Thundercats is one of the best lines produced thus far. I'm not a fan, but I've snatched up every release so far! I was disappointed by the tampo issues with wave 1, but customer service came through for me. But the accessories, extra bits (mini pvc figure in each pack!!) and sculpted parts showcase what minimates can really accomplish! And it still blows my mind how every pack has a ton of new tooling in it! And I just love how eye-popping the colors are - it makes me want even more cartoon properties!

how did customer service help you? I must have missed that stuff

  3. "And lo did they look about them for the Hot Sex, but there was none to be found. And so they did move on to the next box set, with promises of Hot Sex in their thoughts, and brotherhood in their hearts. And that which was thought forbidden became allowed, and the impossible became possible, and there was much rejoicing."

Am I the only who looks at that last line and gets notions of oversized minimates and/or build a mate pack ins??

  4. Thank you, everyone who voted for my entry! I seriously wasn't expecting to take first place - I really feel like there were several entries that overshadowed mine.

I'd like to echo groundhog's sentiment. I'm fighting off a little bit of guilt, knowing that there were entries that deserve prizes but won't be getting any. You guys should all feel proud of your submissions. They are stunning, and the Minimate community as a whole is elevated through the quality of the work shown off in this contest!

If the guilt gets too bad send some of the prizes or your entry to me thumbsup.giftongue.png

Just as long as either or both stop by here for the 10th Anniversary museum show first! ;)

  5. Is anyone else having a similar thing with the main page - when I come here now it just lists the categories, no longer showing what thread the newest post is in or anything like that...makes it kind of frustrating if I am just popping in quickly to see whats new.

  6. Ha! You beat me to it BHM, but nice recovery Luke. Great entries so far; one week left!

FYI, one change in the rules to keep everything fair:

Tie-breakers will be decided by my daughter Emma.

Good luck with that one, she's a major Hulk fan if that helps you at all. She's also going to pick the names from a hat for the random drawings. And yes, she said she would accept tributes thumbsup.gif

and where do such tributes get sent? lol ;)

There are some great entries in this, and some more great ones lurking in the shadows yet I think...good luck to everyone!

  7. Thanks guys, I have been stalking the postal truck waiting for it to get here...this really is only a small piece of a much larger plan - ut is the only piece that will be ready before the deadline of this contest. Interestingly enough if I did win anything here they would also become part of that much larger project lol

  8. Thanks guys, it truly was a great day! I love being born on Star Wars day and this year having Free Comic Book Day and Iron Man 3 to take in made it like a mini-comic con that day. I took the car seats out of our van, the Silver Bullet, and loaded it up with geeks and off we went...3 comic shops, a great burger joint and a comic movie made for one heck of birthday, followed by a family celebration for it the next day! There are a couple highlights, one being while I was at the counter paying at my usual comic shop my mom is on the phone with the owner calling in a gift card purchase for me (talk about timing) and then I also got an amazing sketch of me as my fave comic character DC's Jack Knight Starman!

Heres a pic of the sketch, dont worry if you dont have Facebook you can still see it!
