My big concern about Star Wars is how certain characters might translate from the basic body to a full-fledged Minimate. With humanoids it's not a problem. Characters from Han Solo and Chewie to C-3PO and Darth Vader are relatively simple. Now try to imagine a Jabba the Hutt Minimate, or even R2-D2. I'll gladly leave that to Art Asylum to figure out.

I imagine a Jabba the Hutt minimate as standard arms on a standard body with a huge chest cap, and a sculpted tail piece and head piece. R2-D2 could just be a torso with legs instead of arms and a sculpted chest cap, head, and feet.

I think the Alice thread was lost to the upgrade, so I'll just drop the panel announcements here.

    • TRU Exclusive: White Rabbit/Cheshire Cat.
    • Hot Topic Blind Exclusives: Time-Frozen Alice, Monochrome Time, Translucent Cheshire Cat.

And FWIW, someone during the Q&A also asked about DST making an alternate hand where the peg is rotated 90 degrees about the grip axis.  For better gripping of accessories like the Minigun. Chuck was very receptive and seemed to like this idea.

Is there any art of the HT exclusives?

Peg-warming at comic shops or big box stores? I'm just talking about the LCS market/fanbase, where I haven't really seen that at all in the stores I visit, with recent Legends or DCC figures or anything, but that's only a couple of stores and anecdotal of course.

My LCS has leftover Mockingbirds, Agent 13s, Hellcats, and Captain Marvels, among others.

there's a billion deadpool minimates now. I wouldn't say they've skimped on a minimate that is a stripped down version of a "hulked out" mate. debut deadpool probably hits all the notes you're looking for. If not, you can make a really nice deadpool sourcing parts from the deadpools assemble boxset.

Oh yeah, I know it's easy to fix him up. I just think with those parts he would the definitive Deadpool by himself.

I mean, did people see that Captain Marvel/Jane Thor 2-pack sitting on the shelf any longer than the rest of Wave 64?

I did, but that was more because it was heavy packed and not as much of a novelty as Howard the Duck.

    Found today in Racine, WI.

Hulk does have muscle detail on the back.  Here's a picture of Hulk's back as well as the non-Hulked Hulkpool.  Could not get his left upper right arm piece off on either of the Hulkpools I bought.  It is different than any other Deadpool we've gotten previously, but not by much.  Comes with swords and pistols, and I put the holsters on upside down on accident.

It's too bad they skipped the sculpted ankle and wrist bands. With them, I think this would have been the best vanilla Deadpool yet.

  7. Based entirely on the characters I want most:

    Molly Hayes/Gert Yorkes

    Nico Minoru/Karolina Dean

70's Marvel Girl/ First Appearance Rogue

    Kamala Khan/Monica Rambeau

I mean, I'm pretty sure there would be more than the two-pack, but we did get the license mainly for other categories. If there are other Giant versions we can pair with the other civilian characters, it's possible.

We are leaning away from 4-packs if we have an existing line of two-packs on deck, like with Marvel. If the line is not based on an expansive universe, or if there is interest in exclusives, 4-packs are still the way to go.

I think I saw the line-ups at one point, but I'm sure you can look at the films and work out your top 6-12 most important characters/variants.

I imagine we'd offer a movie-accurate bank first, assuming we are doing one. Not sure we'd do two.

I think you're in the wrong thread.

Last I knew, from DST's perspective, Vinimates and Minimates had ENTIRELY different, non-compatable aesthetics and would give you eye cancer if they appeared on a shelf together. Hence my suggestion for a Minimates-style bank. :D

Didn't they have the same attitude to a minimate-style Stay Puft bank for the Ghostbusters line?

Do you happen to know which characters you guys are going to be doing for Beetlejuice or Elf?

I'd guess at least Lydia Deetz, since she's getting a Vinimate.

It'd be great if DST offered a Minimates-styled bank of the Iron Giant.

    Just a thought.

In addition to the Vinimate? Seems like overkill, especially from DST's perspective.

I've been eyeing those larger Marvel Legends for customs. The Spider-Man is a nice plain body but at 50 bucks I really can't afford multiples. Hopefully these will go down in the aftermarket eventually.

I just find it bizarre that Hasbro has three different scales all called Marvel Legends.
