  1. I checked my TRU yesterday and while they had appeared to have moved 4 of the 20 Fantastic Four packs, there was no sign of wave 9. I am hoping that these show up soon; either in store or online.

Online would work for me since I broke down and signed up for the shoprunner deal when I noticed that they had gotten back in a few of the SDCC Halo Noble 7 figures. That and $4 for the Ghostbuster Ghosts set. **crosses fingers that they show up before Jan 29**

  2. Me? I use a combination of bins and bags. I have smaller properties (DC, Batman, Terminator, Ghostbusters, etc.) in quart sized Ziploc bags. I have BSG and now the MAX line in bins. I also keep all my duplicates in a few customizing bins.

Marvel is a different matter. They take up multiple bags and bins. In fact, I just spent a week going through all my Marvel mates and organizing them; with the help of the Minimate Database, of course. I keep all my Spiderman and X-men mates in two separate bins. The rest of my Marvel mates go into a third bin. I keep the Marvel Movie Mates in Ziplocs, organized by movie, generally by year (X3 with Spiderman 3, Wolverine with Punisher, etc.). I recently realized I needed to further separate the bulk Marvel mates. As such, all Iron Man related mates are now in there own bag. I have also decided to start a new bin for my Fantastic Four (including Inhumans, Skrulls and Atlantians) minimates. All accessories get put in with the characters' bins. In the case of minimates like Louis Tully and Movie IM mk1 who have two VERY different looks, I have both versions of the character stored as if they were two different characters.

New mates get displayed for a while, then put into their respective bins/bags to make room for newer mates.

  3. Stopped by a TRU tonight looking for these and found they'd been totally wiped out at Christmas of just about everything. When I asked when they'd get more stuff I was told it would be sometime after inventory was done next year so they won't really restock for a couple of weeks. How incredibly stupid, considering they were very busy today with people rummaging through what little was left on the shelves.

I had th same thing happen to me. When I asked about the possibility of new mates, the woman told me that she had heard they would not be getting any trucks in all week. Combine that with 20 FF packs on the pegs and I am thinking that this will be the hardest TRU wave ever for me to track down.

  4. I organize the Marvel Universe and DC Universe Classics figures in hopes that Target will eventually stock Thanos or the newest DC wave.

I read on another board that Thanos wont be showing up until the refresher cases hit sometime after the Holidays. I scored a WW Hulk the other day and was shocked at how awesome he is.

I found Thanos twice at two different Targets in my area. I only kept one though, and Target does not restock stuff very well. I have found the WW Hulk wave two different times at my TRU, once when they had buy 2 for $9.99 on Hasbro figures. They are both great figures.

Back on topic, I made a run to my TRU this morning and found no new mates. I did use a coupon to pick up one of the new Star Wars Lego sets though. They had all of those out.

  5. http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=168&itemid=16696

being that it is winter like at least 5 months of the year here I am pumped for this since it'll fit into outdorr pics so nicey...always had fun with my winter/snow themed GI Joes and vehicles when I was a kid

    Jeff of the Miniacs

Thanks much. I too am looking forward to this and all the other offerings from this line.

Overall I have been pleasantly surprised by the Halo minimates. My only gripe so far is with Noble 6. I don't think that having his chest piece covering his pelvis was the best idea. It either makes him too tall or makes him look like he has no upper leg. That and the lack of weapons. ;)

  6. I checked with Diamond today, and retailers will definitely be getting these this year.

So how does this work exactly, Luke? Does each retailer get one? Does this mean my LCS will get one too? Or do they need to be ordered?

I am just wondering if I need to start buttering up my LCS owner. I know there are not that many die-hard minimate collectors that they serve, but that still did not help me get a FCBD minimate from them this last time. <_<

  7. Checked my TRU in Madison and no luck. I asked the guy to look up the item number and he said that the warehouse had a little over 700 on order. This should be good in that they will hopefully not arrive until after the Chaos that is Christmas.

And he also told me that there was no order even for the warehouse on the Heroic Age set :ermm:

  8. I do appreciate the difference between the original release of these sets and everyone's 'washed' versions. I am thinking I might attempt this myself, but I am not sure how to do it. Can anyone who has done this with success share their techniques? I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

  9. Anybody know where else to find these guys? I can't find any of 'em at the only TRU near me, nothin' on ebay or on the TRU website.

I'm fearing I won't be able to get any of them.

My TRU still has a few packs left. I am not sure which ones since I have gotten all that I want. They also raised the price from $6.99 to $7.49 for the holiday season. <_< I will be heading there today and could pick up what they have left for cost + shipping for you. PM me if interested.

  10. also where is the tiny fire peice supposed to go?

I have often wondered about this myself. I figured it was a rocket effect for the t-shaped piece, but found it... lacking.

It seems to me that the Sentinels were able to shoot their hands as projectiles or in order to grab mutants. I assumed that the fire piece, being the same mold as Beast's "wrists" were provided to give the impression that the Sentinel was shooting its hand.

  11. Not knowing Halo at all other than the Minimates and Mega Bloks, where does the Cobalt Elite form the first LCS boxset fit in then? Isn't he/it a Covenant warrior? And what about the Elites in the single dump assortment? Thanks for the info.

Other elites are simply various enemies you fight in the campaign mode, or they are based on multiplayer, where you can mix and match various sets of armor to customize your character. The only other significant elite character in the series (not counting Halo Wars cause I haven't played it) is Half-Jaw, the Arbiter's pal.

well ill explain basically in halo 1 the elites were part of the covenant but in halo 2 they switch sides because of these guys called brutes then in halo 3 which these mates are based on the elites are all good guys so unless they bring out a new series of TRU ones then the only covenant will be the jackels the goofy guys with shields and teh brute cheiftan the black and red aromred guy with the hammer so yeah the elites in the dump case and the first box set are good guys there basically if u will part of the arbiter team lol

Thank you both for the explanation. It would be nice to have a full Covenant dump case, then. Hopefully next summer.

  12. Using this "Arbiter is a good guy" logic, I guess Darth Vader is considered a "good guy" through the original Star Wars trilogy because he redeems himself in the final 15 minutes of Jedi?

okay ive been playing halo from the beginning and i have to say that this is the arbiter from HALO 3 because not only is he gold but he uses a sword which he never used inh halo 2 but did in halo 3 so yeah this arbiter is the HAlO 3 one becuase he is not silver hes gold or brown in this case so not to cause an argument but yeah this arbiter is a good guy so we will not have the real covenant till the second boxset.

  13. Just got my shipping notice form Disney. They sent it out via UPS, which is quality for something that ships free of charge.

When did you order yours? Just trying to gauge how long before mine'll ship as I ordered it yesterday.

I think my order was completed around 6:15am (CDT) on Wednesday of this week. So a 36 hour turn-around from order to shipment. Much faster than most other online retailers.

  14. Well on a whim I decided to go to TRU this morning instead of calling like yesterday. I got there just after 7 and found 4 Warthogs on the shelves where the McFarland characters had been. I was really excited to find them. My favorite employee, who is always willing to help me find or look up item, asked if I found everything this morning and I asked about the 2-packs. When he looked them up on the computer it said they had 12 on the floor.

Enlisting the help of another employee as well, the three of searched half the store, including the back room. No luck finding them.

As I was leaving one of the managers asked if I had found what I was looking for today and I told him what happened. He asked what to look for and told me that he would keep an eye today and on he truck tomorrow to see if they surfaced; promising to set a set aside for me.

I really love the employees at my TRU.

  15. I got my AoA sets. Oh my - how i am in love!

Possibly my all time favourite cross-over event has been given a selection of minimates. Joyful Joy!

can i ask a question of anyone else who has the logan/jean set: the slip on gauntlets for Weapon X's amputated hand - is the end of the gauntlet meant to be open? I anticipated it would be more of a cup shape - but mine is more like a tube. Is this the case with everyones?

Yep, mine was that way. Both the clawed and un-clawed versions were tubes as opposed to capped. I did note, however, that a one bump round Lego stud is the perfect size to fit in Wolvie's stump :) I have not taken the time to cut the Lego stud down yet, but that is my intention for a properly capped hand.

  16. Thanks for posting that these were finally available online. And especially for sharing that free shipping note. Now I do not have to drive an hour in the hopes that these are available in my nearest Disney Store.

On a semi-related note: for those who found this in stores, how much were they charging there?

  17. I probably missed this somewhere but is the TRU warthog different from the other release?(if so how? battle damage or some such?)

I believe the TRU one is clean where as the comic release is muddy. I think they come with the same Spartan though. At least that is what I recall from the blog pictures.

My TRU did not have any new mates today. The woman was nice about lookingthem up for me and told me to try calling again since they are getting daily shipments for the holiday season.

  18. Luke, does "exclusive" include packaging variant re-releases, you figure? Maybe there are lower requirements for re-releases?

I thought it was more of a factory cost preferred limit than a design limit for creating new figures, but I could be wrong. These could have a lower run.

    Luke,

Do you have enough clought with DST and/or desire to requisition your own 4-pack of reissues? I was thinking you could make a killing with that army-building 4-pack we here have all been asking DST for:

    AIM agent

    Hydra Solder

    Kree Warrior

    Skrull Warrior

    Just a thought. :D

  19. Any word yet on the case ratio?

I did not see a full case, but found nine 2-packs on the peg. There were 2 each of the police and Spec ops, one each of the four Firefighter sets, plus one extra FF set (I don't remember which of the four it was). This leads me to believe it is a fair split of two each of the six packs.

    Confirmation would be nice, though.
