  1. For me, with the cons, I always consider what it would have cost me to get there, stay there, and get in there; and then figure I can spend about that much on the exclusives. For the free stuff any way. I always weigh shipping on the purchasable items in too.

This usually works for me. Although it also makes me realize how committed I am to these. ;)

  2. Maybe Wrecking Crew can be Luke's first exclusive?

Or Wrecking Crew minus one plus Thor. With a TRU chaser. ;)

    On topic:

I would be super excited for any of these themes:

    West Coast Avengers

    Agents of Atlas

    Modern Gaursians of the Galaxy

    Second Coming

    Starjammers

    1602

    Noir

    Savage Land

    Brotherhood

    Women of Marvel

"Hulked out heroes" from Hulk when everyone got bulked up like Hulk

    Here's hoping!

  3. At my store, street dates are hard coded into the register. If we try to sell something before its street date, the register flat out will NOT allow it. As a result of inattentive stockers, we've actually had to turn people down at the register before. "But you put it out on the floor"... we understand that, but there's LITERALLY no way to make the register sell an item before street date.

Obviously, it doesn't sound like that's the case at Disney. Congrats to everyone who got their sets already! I hope to join you come Monday!

Now that you mention it, I remember going on a toy hunt with a buddy of mine right around the time Transformers Animated were supposed to hit; we found an endcap at a store, and he happily walked up with, I dunno, Megatron, only to be told what you just said. He was not happy.

This has happened to me twice, both times were with Legos. Once was at Walmart before Star Wars Episode III came out; they had the Turbo Tank on the shelf a week before street date. They told me no, with no explanation.

The second time was with a Lego Star Wars promo at TRU; when they had a sale for 10% off SW Legos. At the check out, I protested when they said it was two weeks before they could sell it. The manager, whom is really nice to me whenever I am in there, filled out a hold slip for me, and put down the 10% off sale price. I was then able to pick up the promo for the discount, just a few weeks later.

My TRU employees are almost all friendly and helpfully.

  4. What I would like to see, no holds barred, is a giant (2.5 & 3 inch minimate body) wave.

    2.5" Hulk/ 2.5" Abomination

    2.5" Red Hulk/ 3" Galactus

    3" Goliath/ 3" Sentinel

    Variant: 3" Giant Man/ 3" Sentinel

Realistically, I would like to see these characters as a wave:

    Daisy Johnson/ Stepford Cuckoo

    Variant: Victoria Hand/ Stepford Cuckoo

Jarvis/ Stan Lee (I have been asking for him for ages)

Robbie Robertson/ Franklin Richards w/ HERBIE

That should give almost everyone a little something.

  5. I had seen that TRU had the exclusives in stock after getting home from work today and figured I would drive out to see if I could get the free shipping by ordering in store. As luck would have it, I found a full case on the wave 1 pegs. So, when I checked out, I pointed this out and got them for $7.49 each. :woot:

I also picked up the deleted scene wave of Star Wars Vintage figures at buy 1 get one 50% off. Good day to hit TRU!

  6. Here's a sortable MU checklist, with a separate visual guide by year. Actually very well done. Rivals the Database in terms of sortability. But I don't have time to count.

Roughly 26 names on the MU list that are not currently (or currently announced) minimates. I will let you crunch the hard numbers Miry ;)

I will say I just went with names, not costume variants. I consider Winter Soldier and commander Rogers unique in my count and included the MU 12 incehers as valid since we have mates of:

    Galactus

    Goliath

    Frost Giant

    Sentinel

I love minimates. I am a completist with them. MU is a way to get characters that are (were) not out as MM. I only get one version (or I try) of each character I AM INTERESTED IN in MU form.

Minimates are definitely the best and I would probably stop other scales if we got more unique characters sooner. But I do not intend to stop:)
