Ok - I got you, Xybot and Drknight001 fixed on the list.
Anyone else I missed, please lmk.
Like Ady said, keep in mind, this is just a rough list for interest - not a guarantee that you'll get a JS 'mate.
Keep chanting Timbo's name and posting those pimpin' smileys!

You missed mine Reideen:
...And if anyone can get there hands on a Jon Stewart for me I'd be Johnny-on-the-spot with the cash and eternally greateful!
Good idea to put this together though. Hopefully the MMMV boys on scene will be able to hook everyone up!
Sorry 'bout that! There were so many threads I missed yours. I've added you to the list up top, based on the time of your post.
If anyone else was missed, please let me know!!

After seeing the picture, i now have a case of John Stewart Minimate fever. And the only prescription is a John Stewart Minimate. Or more cowbell...He looks fantastic! I must have one. Please?Awesome news! How much are these guys going to cost? If at all possible can someone pick up one for me?Nuts, why did it have to be GL and minimate related. I'm excited, but then I realize that this will cost me an arm and leg, and if I had an arm and leg I would've gone to SDCC. Might've been cheapier. Well if I can ask for a hook up I would appriciate it. Now I really hate NAU....And if anyone can get there hands on a Jon Stewart for me I'd be Johnny-on-the-spot with the cash and eternally greateful! This line hasn't officially started yet and already they're releasing an exclusive that i can't get hold of?If anyone going can get me one, i'd be eternally grateful
so much! so much to want!i'll be in line for a JS too, if im not to late
Jon Stewart = [bOB]I want, I want ... I need, I need[/bOB]Probably never get one ... * sigh *
I can't wait to see the Lex mini, and wouldn't mind having one of those JS's myself. If the attendies can't get enough, I guess I'll be searching ebay for this and a Nemisis Prime. And thanks to those of you reminding us these are still the prototypes and some of the details on the figures will be... funny.Add me to the list of people desperately seeking John Stewart! Please add me to the list too!Just passing the time and thinking outloud is all...Can't wait to put the little guy next to my 10" fig.The completist in me won't be able to rest until I have one.I gotta have that minimate. I can't believe it was kept quiet until now. PLease keep us informed timbo.I love Green Lantern's, and he's one of my favorites.I want the Jon Stewart Minimate because I love his show on Comedy Central.Errrr...I need to read more DC comics.
He's cool and he's here!:deathstroke:
OMG I hadn't seen this thread yet. Add me to the list too!add me to the list as well. He's just a damn cool looking Minimate!but, if I am unable to get him.....oh well...
to try to complete the animated justice league, which c3 has left incompletenow we gotta wait for the ladies.
Just purchesed mine off e-bay for 8.99, with the buy it now option. It's suppose to ship Monday! Yeah! A new minimate...it's been awhile!Because right now I have about a dozen... go look in the ' on ebay thread'..
No promises but we are working ourselves to get as many as we can for you guys....
T.
That's why you da man, Timbo!
Just PM me when you have mine in hand!
I know it's pretty late in the game, but if there's any chance of scoring any , I like to toss my name into the JS GL MM frenzy. -
Reideen: I have been using either Twilight Frodo or Clear Iceman.
Then all I do is carefully scrape off the paint from them and Voila!! - instant clear Mate
I'm hoping to get a few more pics of Phoenix in the daylight.....hope they turn out better.
I recently picked up another clear Frodo and I'm thinking of a custom.
If you don't mind, what paint are you using on these for the body and still retain their translucent qualities? Is it just really thin acrylics?
-
You need another option on the poll. "All of the above"
-
I was hoping the armor was removable to reveal the Superfriends suit we saw from C3. Sadly, it doesn't look like that's the case.
-
add me to the list as well.

Interesting point but I disagree. Someone bought those Cubes action figures enough to launch a UPS Delivery man figure in wave 2.
How will collectors know if a line is doing well if no Minimates are in stores or even for sale on the web?
Crank out some generic people during the lull in regular waves. People are buying all types of obscure Kubricks. And don't even get me startd on Qees.
Minimates should be dominating this collectible category. Mass market, shmass market. Release some Minimates already.
I agree on the Kubricks & Quees point. People buy them in droves, but - many of the more popular lines are either a) licensed figures (the scope of Kubricks licenses is HUGE and dwarfs any other line I've ever seen) OR artist related figures.
I think the Design-a-mate competiton (and subsequent line) could have been great, but someone (AA/Play Along/Jakks restructuring) dropped the ball and IMO they missed their window of opportunity. This could have been a line similar to Quees, Kubricks, Dunny, Tofu or any other artist line out there. Think about it - they had Evan freakin' Dorkin on board. How much more credibility do you need for dorks to come out in droves for a line of toys?
Anyway, my point is, I agree that 'mates could (and should be) dominating the category. They clearly, IMO, have the best product out there - because I like a little articulation in my minifigs. Unfortunately a reluctance to take a chance or possibly a lack of capitol/backing to undertake such a venture is really limiting the potential for the line and perhaps the future of 'mates in general.
-
Yep - they've got a set up right now of community workers (31 of them): http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=9247&am...mp;d=14&t=7 but for $43.00, I'll just buy a couple of sets.
-
They need to get the block figures out there. Fuck the licenses. Let's have our policemen and firefighters and criminals and postal workers in sets. Let's go back to basics.
Lego does it, Playmobil does it. C'Mon Art Asylum, you can do it!
LEGO doesn't do it very often. With the exception of really expensive 'people' sets, the only way to get LEGO people is to buy sets. It's too expensive for LEGO to just make the people and sell them alone. (Besides the fact that the driving force behind LEGO are the bricks - not the people in the sets.)
AFIK, Playmobil doesn't do it either, but I'm not as familiar with their product. I see lots of sets on shelves at Target and TRU, but no 'people' only sets.
I think generic figs of policemen/firemen/whatever could have been a possibility if C3 had really taken off, but in the market they were trying to enter, it just wasn't possible.

Don't take this the wrong way...
I'm still gonna buy all the MArvel MM that come out, But COME ON!
The DCD ones not only have NEW molds, they have NEW characters and come in different sizes!
If I had to decide which ones to collect, Marvel would NOT be my pick.
Survival of the fitest... And coolest.
See, that's where we differ. I'm not.
It's not worth it to me, to buy every Wolverine or Spidey (Cyclops, Captain America, etc) that's put out, just to get one or two new 'mates. Sentry, Echo, Fury and Cage won't have homes on my shelves as a result. With the exception of Fury, I'm ok with that. For Fury, I'll go to the secondary market and buy just that figure. If he's too expensive, I'll by just that 2 pack and that's all.
Same goes for Kitty and Beast. Neither one is a big enough 'want' for me to justify buying figures I already own in some form (or 4 -5 forms as the case may be).
DST and Marvel really have an uphill battle to get me to go back to the days where I purchased whole sets plus the chase as soon as I found them at retail.
As far as DC, I agree - new molds, new characters (even the characters we've already gotten look to be improvements on past attempts) and different sizes are all excellent. As long as they continue to put out consistently different characters, I'll be onboard. However, when we get to our 5th or 6th version of Batman in day glo pink and orange camo, I'm dropping the line. (Or Turner versions of the characters vs Superfriends versions vs Miller versions, as DCD is probably going to be more apt to do...) I hope that doesn't happen.
-
Amazing. Downtime and virtually no one noticed it except the people involved. How do you do it Ady? (and, why can't AA do something similar? Unless of course, they aren't coming back with a forum....)
-
Man, I'd REALLY love to have one of these. Too bad they aren't going to be in Chicago too.
I actually suggested an even split between SDCC and Chicago, but LEGO is only going to be at SDCC, so really no question. I also suggested just send them to my house and I'll handle sales, but for some reason they turned that one down...
-
That was the plan when I was there in December. The box has changed a bit since then (the sound chip is new and the artwork is new). I'm working on finding out the details now (cost, what cover - if any, etc).
-
I just got the email on this. It's so frickin' COOL!!
Batman LEGO Comic Con Exclusive news
If anyone can get one for me, I'll happily pay you for it. PM me to work something out!!

$89.99 for the cave.
-
Snagged it. Thanks!
-
I'm in if you're taking names.
-
Dispute the charge with your credit card company. You should have some kind of buyer's protection since you paid thru them. They'll reverse the charges and notify Bad Apple/AuctionWiz. At that point they'll either contact you to arrange some kind of amicable arrangement to get your purchase out to you OR you'll get your $$ back.

Crap, I didn't know there were variants of the cars. I knew about the 3 different Ramone's and I have them. So, I guess I need both clean and dirty Lightining, but either one would be great too just so I have one. neo
At the very least, there are variants of Lightning, Mater, Ramone and Flo. Lightning, like I mentioned, has both clean and dirty versions. Mater and Flo have different eyes/expressions on their 'faces' and Ramone, like you mentioned has 3 color variants. I believe all of the cars have facial variants, but I haven't seen all of them yet, so I can't officially confirm that.
-
I do have a request. I was collecting all the cars from McDonalds that ended last week. I got 7 or the 8, the only car I'm missing....Lighting. You would think the main character would be easy to find. So, if anyone out there has an extra Happy Meal Lighting they would part with I'm really love to have it . neo
So you have all the variants then? Which Lightning are you missing? The clean or dirty version? Or is it both?
-
I would if it was longer. I like Dave School and would love to be able to support them more. Even if it was a 1/2 hour, that would be fine. At under 9 minutes though? Nah.
