  1. I'm sure you probably know this, but the Superboy coming out IS Connor. That was his costume all the way up to Young Justice. When Geoff took over Teen Titans though he gave everyone a new look. Wondergirl dumped the leather jacket and black wig, Bart became Kid Flash & Connor... Well he changed into a T-Shirt.
  2. I got Kryb in the mail a few days ago... I think I'm in love. LOL Ugliest toy I've ever seen... Complete with babies!!! My only disappointment comes in her back. It doesn't open "naturally" and makes for transporting babies difficult.
  3. I have heard the theory of Kyle being White for quite some time. Could happen.
  4. LOL. That was... Blunt. Anyways, Kyle has been my fav. Lantern since he showed up on the scene 15 years ago, so I feel your pain. That said... Did you really not see this coming? In the foreword to Rebirth it says: "It would've been so easy to kill Kyle." Since then Kyle has been poorly used... Or not at all. The Ion comic blew. I mean, sure, he played a major role in Countdown... But that comic was almost as bad as Final Crisis. Since then has pretty much played a "little brother" to Guy. You ever see any movies? It's always the younger brother who dies. Kyle is one of my favorite characters in DC, and maybe I'm still in shock, but when he died I was like: "Huh. So he's dead, eh?" (I'm Canadian). Sooner or later a writer was gonna stop fighting the urge to kill him and put him out of his misery. The real question now: Will he stay dead?
  5. Actually my wife commented on how loud it makes our 360s sound...
  6. Well, we finally took the plunge and picked up a PS3 this last week. We've been playing Fat Princess, Ratchet & Clank and Little Big Planet. Early thoughts about the system: I like the controllers a lot more than I expected. I wish they were heavier, but I've loved the triggers since the first day I played a PS3. The picture is really crisp. Blu-Ray sure is nice. The Browser blows. Compared to the 360's dashboard it's STUPID hard to navigate. What the hell is up with "installing" things!?!?! WHY!?!?! Also, loading times seem pretty brutal compared to 360. Is this just the games I've been playing?
  7. Okay, this was clearly written by a Marvel fanboy. That said, I agree that Marvel would win (for the reason that Karam said, Mass numbers). That said, characters in DC like Cyborg Superman CANNOT be killed. Nothing can destroy him, even that which is omnipotent (kind of makes it an oxymoron). Any hoo, DC vs Marvel was the WORST excuse for a comic battle ever. NONE of thoses battles are accurate. OF COURSE Wolverine would beat Lobo, he's everyone's favorite! Actua power-wise? Lobo would win. He can "Regrow" from a single drop of his blood. As a matter of fact in some old stories he grew back into an army of himself. Batman vs Cap America? Come on! Everyone knows Bruce would win, and in the comic I'm pretty sure he did (he saved Cap from drowning)... But then he all of a sudden admitted to losing? It makes no sense. Aquaman & Namor is about the only battle that NO ONE cares about. Sure, let Namor stab Aquaman. An Orca will probably still land on both of them.
  8. Bob, I think this thread is about MINIMATES.
  9. LOL... He's like a pug... Y'know, so ugly it's cute? PS. We both know I give a shit. Does this mean you're gonna do one of my favorite Joes?
  10. SErge, you should really catch up on GLC. I'm a huge Geoff Johns fan, but leading up to BN I would say Tomasi's stuff in GLC is better than GL. Okay, back on track: GL48 & BN5 hit today. WARNING GL48 is meant to be read BEFORE BN5. There is a disclaimer, but it is a misprint. It reads "This tackes place before BN6." Onto the spoilerish stuff: Out color team finally gets together in GL48 and the 7 of them (plus Ganthet & Sayd) head to earth in BN5. Flash, GL and the others battle the horde of Coast City zombies and unltimatly kill Scar (The evil guardian). All is in vain, however when Nekron reveals that he is responsible for the resurrections of all the heroes over the years. He kept them from "perma-death" so he could use them now. He then sends out a bunch of new black rings which zombify everyone who's died in the past (Donna Troy, Superman, Wonder Woman, Superboy, Green Arrow, Kid Flash, ect.) The issue ends with rings flying towards Hal & Barry... Thoughts?
  11. It has occured to me that my cases have changed considerably in the last several months. I haven't been able to get ahold of more cases but I've rotated out several of my mates and put new ones in. Still way too many to fit in them.
  12. It's ironic to me that you guys are having so much trouble with her. She was the first toy we bought. I wouldn't think she'd be so hard to find considering she doesn't have a BAF piece.
  13. Here is a cheap auction I found once I read this. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=160378095483
  14. I've considered this myself. Realistically, however there haven't ACTUALLY been that many deaths... More the APPEARANCE of deaths. Hawkman & Hawkgirl are probably the most expendable characters in DCU, so they don't count. Spectre... Well he was already dead, he'll be back. Firestorm really just lost his girlfriend, no biggy. He can merge with someone else. Likewise, any GLs or RLs or BLs ect. who die were pretty much INVENTED for this story. I mean, who cares if Chaselon is dead? While he's a great character, we all thought he was dead until the GL reboot recently anyways, right? Same with the Lost Lanterns. Realistically, the only characters who have DIED in this story are Hawk, Damage, Tempest & Green Lantern. And really... Who DOESN'T hate Tempest? LOL. Seriously, I think death should be handled carefully in comics, and part of the reason why I HATE Final Crisis is that they didn't do that. You may very well be right Miry... But only time will tell.
  15. So it's been a month since we've touched this thread and quite a bit has happened. Since my spoiler boxes don't work for some damn reason, this is your warning, I WILL be spoiling things. First off, people have died. The shocking part? They're characters I CARE about. Hal goes off on an adventure to gather together the heads of each color corps and Atrocitus (A red lantern) has a jaw dropping scene against the Black Lanterns. Honestly, The Spectre, Firestorm and Tempest are among my most hated characters and I couldn't care less if they bite it. BN #4, however saw Damage die in such a shocking scene that it caught most readers off guard. This may have been foreshadowing to what would happen next in GLC... As the Black Lanterns pour done death on the GLs we see Vice (a promenant Red Lantern) die along with possibly Chaselon (The big diamond GL). Kyle grabs Chaselon's internal battery and, together with the Black Lantern horde and the Oa central battery they all blow up. That's right this month saw Damage and Kyle (both DC characters of the 90s) die. It's kind of hard to buy into Kyle being dead this early in Blackest Night, but it appears to be legit. Despite them killing one of my favorite characters in DC, GLC is REALLY good right now. I'll admit, because there was so much going on this issue I felt like they "monologued" too much. Y'know, how a character says: "Oh no! I brought a cghainsaw to this fight but my opponenet just took it and noiw he's using it on me!!"? Yeah, there are a lot of those in this issue, but it still is really powerful. If you're not reading all three books (Blackest Night, Green Lantern & Green Lantern Corps)... Well you should be. They clearly feed into each other extremely well. If you haven't been picking up Blackest Night so far, no is also a great time to get on board. Geoff Johns has said he needed to use these first four months to build up the story and NOW the sh!t is gonna hit the fan. Thoughts?
  16. I COMPLETELY disagree!!!! As much as Laira was one of my fav. GLs, she's dead... DexStar should be in the red set!!!! Plus... There's a new red on the block... (Spoiler)
  17. Ummm... I think you posted that in the wrong place.
  18. I never thought I would hear these words. It's a Christmas miracle!!!!!
  19. I LOVE those commercials!!! My brother and I were joking a couple months ago: EVERY commercial has Superman come in and save the day. Apparently ALL other heroes (Not just GL) are useless. Even the ones that SEEM like they don't need Superman (Like the one with Batman & Hawkman) he still comes in at the end. Anyways, back on topic: I see what you're saying here. It's not exactly a kid friendly line, but I would argue that they can make vehicles that aren't rediculous that collectors would buy. With the characters already available they could make: Batman's Batmobile (obviously) Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet (Which could actually be pretty sweet) Blue Beetle's Bug Black Manta's Sub Lobo's Bike Also, the beauty of this line being SO diverse means they could make sets like: Lady BlackHawk with Plane Rip Hunter with Time Sphere Robot Brainiac with Giant-Robot-Brainiac-Head-Ship-Thing Sgt Rock with Haunted Tank or some other WWII hero Vigilante with motor bike (or any number of other characters who use a bike. Vig is just one of my favs.) Shinning Knight with his flying pony. If the toys make sense I'm sure collectors would buy them. And they don't have to sell vehicles seperatly either. It reminds me of 80's GIJOE. There was a set called Battle Force 2000. Each figure came with a piece of their big vehicle. Essentially it was a BAV toyline. Sure, the vehicle looked like crap all assembled, but it was an alright idea. I dunno, BAF is a great idea, but the fact that we're getting Trigon in wave 13 makes me feel like they've run out of large characters who don't suck. What about a BAP (build a playset)? Y'know, you could have a Legion of Doom base or JL WatchTower and have each character come with a part of a room? That would open the door to bring in characters like Calculator with a wall of tech and computers. (Originally this idea was Oracle, but as I was typing I decided she would be a pretty boring toy. Calculator in his CLASSIC costume would be WAY better ) Handsome, while I don't remember having a hard time finding certain figures, it's clear neither of us were adults at the time and... Well this was 20 years ago. The facts however? Say differently: "Highly prized today, Kenner's distribution practices of including up to 18 of one character in a case of 24 led to a glut of the core characters throughout the life of the line, and a rapid demise. Due to this practice, certain figures such as Cyborg, Golden Pharaoh, and Plastic Man remain rare to this day while the Flash and Superman are easily found. " Now I feel kind of lucky to have had Golden Pharoah & Plastic man.
  20. So what if the new Hawkman's wings don't flap? And that Supes doesn't do a double gut punch? They look a hundread times better, have way more joints and are much larger so they're not as easily lost. That last one sounds lame, but it's saved my butt several times when my boys have lost one of their fav. toys. Also, the BAF concept is phenomenal (I know DCUC disdn't come up with it, but SP didn't have it). All in all, I think those points trade off for the fact that each figure doesn't have some goofy ability. I don't know, looking back the vehicles I had didn't make much sense (like superman's plane), but they were still awesome. For kids it doesn't matter, does it? I even had some rediculous space ship, that as far as I can tell had nothing to do with super heroes... But my parents bought it for me. See my point? And if the new Kalibak fit in that old vehicle you had better believe my boys would be throwing rocks at everything!
  21. This is a little off topic, but it's something that's been on my mind lately. I've heard that Mattel is making it their goal to top Super Powers. That's why they're realeasing rediculous spinning robots owned by Kryptonians who were pretty much made up for the toyline. I think they've done an awesome job and these toys blow away SP hands down... With one exception: No vehicles. Any thoughts? Any one stumbled accross any vehicles that are the right size? Is it just license restraints?
  22. Arrrgghhhhh!!!! So I finally found a store where I could pick up both Joker & Beast Boy for under $30... Then my eldest says to me "I want Man-Bat!" Why is he $40!?!?!?! This toy line is going to be the end of me. Magnus, was MAn-Bat really that short packaged?
  23. Well Bungie has remained very hush, hush about Reach over the last several months. ODST landed. For those of you who played it and didn't expect more than a H3 expansion, you probably enjoyed it. Firefight was really rewarding for me personally as it forces Halo veterans to "reinvent" their game. Still though, Bungie has remained silent about Reach... But others haven't recently someone snapped some screenshots of the game in action. Yes, they're blurry as hell... But even still the graphics look friggin sweet! And yes, that appears to be a needle rifle. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3176784
