  1. So am I the only one who saw the Kyle Reese pack at my local TRU? Two of them...I swear! I KNEW I should have snapped a pic with my phone....grrr.
  2. I was wondering about this myself. With what appears to be minimates at their most popular time...I wonder if DC is starting to feel they left the party just a bit too early. - Paul
  3. I stopped by my closest TRU...the one I got these from originally and they had only 1 Iron Man pack left. At least in my store they sold great! They've restocker Terminator twice now...this latest one having the previews exclusive Kyle Reese pack...which confused me..but they had 2! - Paul
  4. Hey...feel free to derail my thread anytime. It just keeps bumping it up! =) - Paul
  5. Ok..heads up gang. While I have no pics to prove it, Toys R Us' are carrying the Kyle Reese 2-pack. I saw 2 tonight at my local TRU. They even said Previews Exclusive on the package. They seemed to be packed with the other 2 sets that TRU already had. Was anyone else expecting this? I would have grabbed one, but I bought mine online and didn't need another. - Paul
  6. Hmmm..since these are dream boxsets I'll pick themed characters most likely to never get minimates. Set One: Big Man and The Enforcers (Big Man, Montana, Ox, Fancy Dan) Classic Daredevil Foes (Stilt-Man, Matador, Purple Man, Owl) Classic Daredevil Foes 2 (Gladiator, Eel, Mr. Fear, Leapfrog) Spidey's Allies and Adversaries (Frog-Man, Spider-Kid, Rocket Racer, Molten Man) Circus Of Crime (Ringmaster, Princess Python, Clown, Strongman) Masters Of Evil (Classic Moonstone, Blackout, Mr. Hyde, Tiger Shark) Yeah..that would be great for starters! - Paul
  7. Cappy I totally second that vote for Squirrel Girl! While we're talking dream minimates...I'd love a frog man! - Paul Hell yes for Crime Master! While we're at it how about the Big Man and his Enforcers! - Paul Sure thing! And the Big Man'll have a removable mask with Fredrick Foswell's face underneath! Plus the Crime Master'll come in a two-pack with Foswell in his "Patch" persona from that story. And then a Circus of Crime boxed set! Also, you know what'd look really great with that lab cardboard minimate playset? A MODOK! Ahhhh! The Ringmaster and his Circus Of Crime! I want these! Princess Python...The Clown..etc. DST make it happen! I have no idea how to make a mini Modok...but I want one..and seriously..it's time for Kang. - Paul

  9. This is great DST rules! The only time I contacted them was about the Rocky hair piece, and the fact that they footed the bill to send all those hair pieces to us was just great! - Paul
  10. Yeah DC Direct. I used to have every Transformer made from 84-87 and every Marvel Legend, and nearly all DC Direct figures. About 2 years ago I sold almost all of it. I paid off some bills...continued collecting mini's, and decided I'd rather go the high end prop and 1/6th figure route. Mini's handle the diversity of characters while the expensive stuff impresses the guests. I'm a victim of the economy tho and currently have a crap job at a grocery store so it's all I can do to keep up with Minis and the occasional 13 inch DC Direct figure. I was living in NH for about 6 years and had a very well paying gig at a hospital. When I decided to move home to PA..the job market hit the bottom and now I can't find a similar job. Oh well...as long as I can pay the rent and buy my plastic crack! I totally hear that. I mean, i'm 15. In Jersey, by Law, you can only be accepted for a job at 16 (1 month!!). My greatest means of getting minimate/comic book cash all year was not buying lunch at school and saving it all for Wednesday (and Momma STILL had to chip in every once in a while). It's summer now. That means no school. And NO MONEY. There go my Mini-funds. Oh, and i've been wanting to get 13"ers for so long; DC Direct makes them beautifully. not as good as Hot Toys, might i add, in which i still need cash for Two-face and Mk II Iron Man, but pretty damn good. I really need Black Canary (if i could afford her series every month i would buy it, since i LOVE the character ), Wonder Woman, and Hal, not to mention Nightwing and Brainiac. But that's a lot of cash, which i don't have. I also REALLY WANT that Green Lantern Emotional Ring display prop coming out, with the rings for each Corps, but once again: NO CASH. Hey Twisted...I hear ya. Believe me I was there. I was lucky enough growing up that my Mom was a bit of a closet sci-fi and superhero geek herself. My parents never had much spare cash, but back when comics were about 75 cents each , she made sure I got a few dollars a week to keep me in comics. When I was 14 I got a job working "under the table" so to speak at the local comic store. I'd get 4.00 and hour in cash or 5.50 in store credit. That and a store layaway plan got me a ton of vintage comics. This helped me aquire most early issues of Amazing Spiderman, the first 25 Daredevils, and first appearances of Batgirl, Mr. Freeze, and Posion Ivy. Most of the expensive props and things came from selling off a large toy collection as I mentioned...as well as hunting ebay like it was a second job. I rarely pay full price for everything. The hardest lessons to learn from this method tho are: There are some things you just can't afford.....and secondly..patience is everything. Once you get that part time job do a lot of searching online and you'll find those DC 13 inchers for waaaay under the comic store prices. Good luck! - Paul lol Well Trekker I do believe that comes from the Simpsons movie! - Paul
  11. It's for an "unsuited" war-machine. Take his boots off, and the bottom of the legs are flesh colored. Bare feet inside thick metal armor? Mega blisters... Really? Oh crap...does this mean I need another to display de-armored? - Paul I am hopelessly addicted.

I'll keep my eyes open for any more TRU exclusives and make them available to you kind folks if I find any. Anyone still need Union Jack and Wonder Man? I keep finding those. - Paul
  13. Thanks everyone! I was very happy to be able to finally contribute something. Yeah I'm familiar with many of you from reading your posts for so long. I'll gladly post some collection pics when I find that thread. Upon re-reading my post I hope I didn't come across as bragging. As I'm sure many of you know...amassing a great collection means going without many things that "normal" people take for granted. As for my fiancee looking good in a Catwoman costume..well...you have to bear with me. If you'd have seen my ex-wife you'd unstand my bragging. =) - Paul
  14. Hello! I've been reading this site multiple times a day for years now. Now that I've drawn some attention to myself by being the first on the board to confirm and post pics of the newest TRU mates I figure I should take the time to introduce myself more properly. My name is Paul and I've been collecting minimates since they first began. I have over 550 at last count. Recently I began collecting promotional mates as I'm running out of other minis I need. I live in Pennsylvania in the suburbs of philly with my fiancee and our kitten. I also collect comic and movie props, costumes, and 1/6th scale comic figures. I've collected since the day I stopped playing with toys and I'm now almost 33. Minimates are probably my favorite collectible ever for 2 reasons. First I love the diversity of licenses. Secondly..I love the small size as they don't take up nearly as much room as most things! My favorite mini's are probably: classic Cylons, Villains pack Green Goblin, battle damaged T-1000, and Hannibal Lechter. My most prized other items: my copy of Amazing Spider-Man #14 (1st Green Goblin), My Detective Comics #148 (2nd Riddler from 1948), My Master Replicas Rocketeer helmet, my Factory X Dr. Doom mask, My Green Lantern Power Battery. My fiancee is also a geek and she owns her own Master Replicas light sabers and Storm Trooper helmet, as well as her custom replica Julie Newmar Catwoman costume (and I'm happy to say her figures similar enough to Julie that she can pull it off!) Well....guess that's about it. Always happy to meet fellow like-minded collectors in my area! - Paul
  15. I too come down in the middle. A great example is the Green Goblin. I love the character..particularly old school pre-death by glider. I find the cartoony look great, but then I also love the details on the new one. I do miss the elf shoes tho. I love the original Rhino..but I feel it could benefit from some bulking up. I also agree that Apocalypse to me is overdone.Too many parts can be a bad thing imo. I think we can all agree that Juggernaut needs a redo. When a new version comes out he or she doesn't replace the old for me...they just go in line next to all my other versions of that character. - Paul
  16. Look back a coupla pages...I gave the UPC's for those who need them. - Paul
  17. Found my receipt. Here's the numbers that may help. 699788720264 - this is both on the receipt and on the package for Bullseye and Moonstone. 699788727201 - Venom and web armor Spidey 699788000113 - Wolverine and Sabretooth As I skipped Iron Man and War Machine mark 1 as well as Cap and AIM goon I can't help ya there. Hope this helps someone. - Paul
  18. O.k. Here goes. Wolverine does not have non clawed hands. The clawed hands are the same ones that came with the secret invasion one. I actually thing the Wolverine Origins minis have nicer claws tho. The blades seem to stay separate better. Wolverine has a separate belt piece and no slip over powerhouse crotch. Sabretooth does have a powerhouse crotch. - Paul
  19. To answer an earlier question posed, This was the Media, PA TRU near the Granite Run mall. As for the case breakdown, I can't say as someone had obviously been there ahead of me. I did get the last Moonstone and Bullseye pack. There was between 2 and 3 packs of the others left. You're welcome for the pics...as a longtime lurker it was nice to be able to contribute something to my favorite site! Upon fiddling with these a couple hours: This really is the best classic wolverine in my opinion. The new style boots seen previously on Secret Invasion Wolvy are here. The shoulder pieces are great. An excellent way to streamline a character that has often suffered from the bulky treatment. The unmasked look is also top notch. The Jim Lee era Sabretooth is nice. It uses an all new powerhouse type chest with the fur sculpted on it. The hairpiece/mask/muttonchops are nice....as are the claws. Mac Gargan Venom: Not really a fan...as I prefer Mac as the Scorpion, but I guess at age 32..I'm not the target age ("old fart") that this is geared to. Still..not a bad mini and I DO like how the eyes are done. Bullseye: Other than the too tight mask, this is a winner. More weapons, lots of detail..and an unmasked face so cool..you'll hate to mask it. Moonstone: Like I said...as someone who grew up reading comics in the mid-80's, this is NOT my Moonstone. Shame too as I find her old outfit more memorable. This reminds me of a cross between Dagger and disco Dazzler. Probably the weakest in the set. Still..not a bad mini. Bring on the Ghostbusters! - Paul
  20. Oh...I can't say this for all of them, but the mask on my bullseye was SNUG...and now post photo shoot..I can't get it off! If anyone's curious about accessories on the packs I got: Web Armor Spidey and Venom :none Moonstone and Bullseye : mask, 2 sai's, and 2....fighting billy club baton thingies. Wolverine and Sabretooth: mask and hair for Wolvie. - Paul
  21. Hot dam!! more army builders! bullseye and moonstone!!! wolvy and sabertooth!!!!! cant wait to see those pics!! whose gonna get them on here first? Jeff of the Miniacs
  22. I can vouch for this. After reading the toymania delaware sighting, I took a ride over to the media, PA TRU and found the set. Someone had obviously been there before me as I got the last Moonstone and Bullseye pack. - Paul Hot dam!! more army builders! bullseye and moonstone!!! wolvy and sabertooth!!!!! cant wait to see those pics!! whose gonna get them on here first?
