Mauro Rodriguez III
Yes i was just wondering if i animate minimates, do i have to give credit to the ones who made them? and if so do i have to pay ArtAsylum in order to use their minimate? and what if i decide to make a dvd and try selling my animation. would i have to pay them royalties? if anyone can answer these questions i'd greatly appreciate it. thanks. AdyCarter
Credit is always good, remember minimates is a trademark, so make sure you put next to it on any officialish stuff. You dont have to pay art asylum for using their mates in a fanmade movie, however I dont know where you would stand with regards to selling them. We did some T-shirts last year as a one off with the Minimates name on it and AA insisted we put the trademark logo on, as the t-shirts were none profit making royalties didnt enter into it, but seen as things such as NewTimes are out there for free an animation that you were charging for would have to be amazing... Mauro Rodriguez III
k. and about the animations i'm planning on making a mini series and some day sell it on dvd so maybe some people would like to watch them on their tv. I've got some good ideas thought up but for now i'll put them on the web so people could watch them for free. and then i'll sell t-shirts and try figuring something out with AA. so i'll look into it and see what i have to do. but thanks for that info. i'll add the TM to their logo. >.< but just watch out and i'll come back and repost what happened.
