I think the whole cylons quest for god thing is a very small part of their plan it seems they are searching for the human condition(god, love, procreation etc.) and I'm becoming very suspicous that baltar is a toaster

I happened across a mystery fig the other day and couldn't resist openning it , a human torch if any one has interest in a trade hes very cool rising on a pillar of flame and tossing a fireball

I know most of you folks don't know me from any other son of adam but I would like to be an active member of this community so if welcome I'm in as well

My LCS claims they will have the new marvel waves and the DC waves but most of them (all really) havent carried them since the cable wave truth be told I got those waves for a 2 for 1 at 6.00 a crank because they sold so badly the comic specialty market is a hurting place and while I would like to offer support to my LCS I'm forced to resort to ordering from the net or now retail stores like target and T-R-U if they do carry them I'll go there first but I can already see that beast/kitty pride 2 pack is going to be scarce

luke I have to say coming from you I have to take that as high praise indeed I love that Nightmare of yours one word, stunning. as soon as I come up with another white base I'll crank out a madman thanks to the rest of you for your praise as well it's wildly appreciated

Yeah all the big guns are guilty of that I think (can you say crisis whatever) although I think planet hulk has been the best thing going right now outside of the ultimate titles the repurcusions of that story line will have more impact on the marvel universe than civil war in the end I think

is this an "ultimate" title or regular marvel universe? I can't wait to see mean green kick puny human @$$ when he finally gets back to earth

on participation I'd like to start a thread in the custom area but I've sold most of anything I've done in the past or given away as gifts so the only MM custom so far are the QC Dr. Strange and the Space Ghost once I've got a few more under my belt I''ll start a custom thread I also really need to get on the ball with those custom decals

Hi all now that I've made entry posts in 2 different "contests" I've noticed this forum is actually for all newbies to introduce themselves so my bad but here I am now. I love MARVEL comics and all things sci-fi I love minimates I think they are great figs and give up awesome character representations and they aren't nearly as hard on my bank account as the legends series would be. Favorite tv shows right now include Dr. Who, Battlestar Galactica and HEROES I've recently aquired an anonymous backer towards doing more customsso expect too see more figs from me soon I think next on my list is mike allereds MADMAN I love the look of that costume. Well I've been taking a careful look at the other members work in the customs area and I have to say its a very talented group of people out there, that being said I wanted to keep it simple and do a basic repaint for my first MM custom hope you folks enjoy this. I think a basic definition of "science fiction" if I'm not mistaken would be a story that involves expounding on known science (I.E. star trek is a vision of our, humans, future and what we can possibly achive with our science, star wars though by its own admission takes place "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" so nothing to do with anything we currently know so for my money at best science fantasy) the term as it's being used here though encompases any sub-genre in the sci-fi family although I imagine pure fantasy would be off limits (i.e. lord of the rings) even though I think it would fall under this header as a sub catagory. just wanted to make my thought a bit more defined and as the staff says they have final word on ruling if a character fits the contest guide lines. hope I haven't dragged things to far off topic.

I am sure I'll feel stupid for asking this since star wars was already mentioned but by the strictest defintion of "science fiction" star wars does not fit the bill its more fantasy than anything star trek however is pure sci-fi, staff? and as for one final bit of clarifcation its been said that previous entries can't be used does that mean anything you personaly have posted or does that include figs anyone has posted? stupid I know but thought I would ask. thanks just making sure I'm on the same page.

any where within the sci-fi genre or just sci-fi movies? by anywhere I mean comics, cartoons, books, t.v. shows, etc. also does it need to be an actual painted/scuplted piece or is a altered "digital custom" in the clear?

god I love 50's sci-fi men need orange jumpsuits and heavy helmets to fight the evil invading hordes of space but women are made of sterner stuff in the future and only require the bare minimum of clothing and a tiny cape .. no doubt a distraction tactic devised by the intrepid Det. Lewis

I don't think you're alone in your concerns there. It also strikes me as a little odd that 2 entries with so many common points posted within 8 minutes of each other Also will it be possible to condense the entries into a new thread post deadline? sure would make it easier to take a look at everyones work not that I want to increase anyones work load :o

Holy Frac! is that BSG viper going to be made available like the Mach 5 and shooting star cars that come with the speed racer figs?

I'm real hopeful this is going to be an annual thing around here it was great fun coming up with it and seeing what other people do these figs aren't real popular it seems in my neck of the woods so this is really a great outlet for a "loner" like myself. now lets see some more stuff! anyone working on a single panel or splash page?

there were three or four different versions of issue 1 three of them were wrap around covers and the fourth was a deluxe book with a double gatefold cover that brought the other issues together on one book so yup its a cover

Thanks for all your help Ady I couldn't have come up with what I did with out you I'd still be out there persisting that silver surfer panel I wanted to do is out there somewhere,lol many thanks to the rest for your praise I'm loving all the entries so far that "Days" cover is very well done indeed and I just love that Vulture custom on the spidey cover sadly I can't afford extra mates to paint and cut up so I've got to settle for QC's and digital help for the rest.

Ok here ya go I did take some liberties with the cover art as I'm sure we've all found out not everything translates well from one medium to another and scale issues of figures to drawings. I also wanted to get away from the X-Men as I figured there would be plenty of coverage there. I think it came out pretty well I also think it would be neat if every regular artist got to do they're own take on the title logo so I did just that good luck every one.
