  1. That version of the X-Men seems ideal for a future Best Of wave, should they ever make one. And I wouldn't sweat Black Panther, I suspect the day is coming where we have more Black Panther 'mates than you'd believe.

I hope you're right, but my OCD kicks in if I have a movie mate on the comic shelf

  2. Zenpool would be a crazy minimate, if done right, it would be a very nice figure, however, being newer to the mate scene, I would still love an update black panther, and I echo everyone's sentiments for wrecking crew!

I know 90s xmen are very unlikely but the aftermarket on those requires a second mortgage...

  3. Speculation time! Uh, Spawn! Nononono, uh, Bioshock! Oohoohooh I got it, DC! It's DC, right?!

Anyway, I'm going to guess it's going to be a video game license. A few Ask DSTs ago Chuck mentioned that they were looking at a few VG licenses (it was, surprise, surprise, a mail from and I had listed a lof them in there, so, yeah...). Just for the hell of it, I'll say...Metal Gear Solid. Popular game, lots of merchandise, usually goes for the "weird" types. There haven't been any "standard" action figures, so I could see them trying something like the block format again (after the Kubricks, which I always wanted to get, but never pulled the trigger). It's not likely, but it's the best I've got.

EDIT: Scratch that, Zach mentioned that they were looking on some Image stuff a while back (it was on the Valiant thread if I'm not mistaken) so it's 100 % an Image set. He also mentioned that it's nothing related to the founders, so we should look towards the newer stuff (I posted that on the Speculation Thread but nobody responded). I'm gonna guess East of West. interesting designs, lots of characters, it's a goldmine actually.

East of west -or- saga would be great!

  4. The two stores near me that showed they had them online had bupkis when I went by.

    Phooey.

Probably had them, just too lazy to look for them, I usually just flash my balance rewards card at them and they bend the knee, ha!

In all seriousness walgreens is easily one of my favorites stores

  5. Found this morning, thanks to the locator, one store out of 5 had these "in stock", sure enough one set of all four were there.

General notes being, the colors are vibrant, the additional alt heads were nice, like the hulk, the cap is sweet, and the new look on star lord is very nice.

    I'm loving the flash

    Now bring on dat crossbones!

  6. After seeing the catalog and some in-hand pics, I'll be skipping it the midnight events for sure.

I'll stop by a Target or two on the 4th while looking for the Animated Minimates at Walgreens. I'm down for a few lego sets and the Ashoka/Vader Rebels pack (only cause I luv the show) and that's it.

Hasbro through a combo of poor management/high profits margins has destroyed the SW line to me. The prices have increased to ridiculous levels, while the quality, sculpting, paint and articulation have all dropped like a rock. If the product had stayed the same I could live with the price increases but it's hasn't. Just look at the 1st series of the 6" Black figures and compare them to the latest wave.

When you look at DST products which the prices have only increased slightly over the past few yrs. The quality is still there and there's more accessories, better sculpting/details than ever. Hasbro is the exact opposite.

I collected the 3 3/4 line from the first wave but I stopped before the last wave due the reasons above.

SW is my favorite, but it's LEGO minifigs and some Sideshow/Hot Toys figures for me. Hasbro isn't getting my money.

Couldn't agree more on all accounts. I had every single mu figure out, doubles, and triples, and moc items, sold it all, because they decided to get cheap, and repack crap, and decrease articulation.

dSt has stayed consistent, includes stands, accessories and alt looks, way better.

  7. A QC issue would have to happen a few or more times. A one-off missing part would be technically classified as an "error."

Very few factories use the old-time-movie depiction of quality control, with someone on a stool checking every single item that comes down the conveyor belt. We check batches, and random samplings. An isolated error is one we fix using customer service.

    But definitely contact CS, shortysben.

That sounds like a whole thing...honestly I am not that perturbed, just a little surprised. I have another pack coming in the mail, I'll contact cs if lightning strikes twice.

  8. The red skull underneath the onslaught armor is superb, I know most buy doubles, but curious, is anyone going to fill the armor with an existing mate? And if so, who is your choice? I'm on the fence about getting another set, or popping someone else underneath.

  9. i love this new Apocalypse. i picked him up today, along with Sabes. almost grabbed all four, but decided to save the other two sets for a rainy day. Pocy is probably my fave new mate in recent history. he's so imposing.

i'm also having a hard time getting Iron Man's helmet off. i can't remember... warm water, or freezer?

I was able to get it off, had to freeze falcap
