I can't find that NYCC set for less than $15. This is the next best one for retail.

Rocket Raccoon small scale doesn't bother me much, but I do wish we would have gotten an articulated figure. I can always just make a custom Rocket later, I suppose.

I wonder if he'll be able to hold a gun even though he's not articulated.

Given Minimates treatment to the smaller figs, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Maybe Zach's tray shot was the exception rather than the rule...

Might get all 4 sets, my girlfriend is getting into Minimates herself lately. Got her hooked with Black Widow/Hawkeye and Rescue Armor Pepper Potts.

I just realized I can EASILY paint one the Hydra soldiers and turn him into Batman. Add a little epoxy for the bat ears...OMG

We aren't making any Marvel Selects for GotG, but we are making a shared assortment of Minimates. Not sure they're approved to show, but they're at the booth!

I was at Toys R Us earlier and saw a sign that all Mega Bloks stuff was BOGO 50% Off.

Pretty good deal if you want some of the more pricier sets.

They have it online too but the shipping is too much for somethings.

I got a pretty nice haul today.

KBToys has almost all the sets from Toys R Us web page for sale on it's eBay page but the shipping is much cheaper than with TRU.com (not sure about Hawaii or Alaska shipping). It was $2.99 initial shipping and I don't think they tacked on anything else after that.

Thought I'd let you guys know if you wanted some.

Not as cheap at the clearance sale with the 30% off from TRU from a while back but it's a good discount.

i passed over this set at my LCS and picked up the Excalibur set instead. when i went back to get it a week or 2 later, it was gone... i was pretty bummed, especially after prices sky rocketed online. fortunately, i have a pretty awesome boyfriend who bought it for me for my birthday. i coulda killed him when he told me how much he spent on it, but i love it!

I've bought Minimates on and off for about 3 years now and I finally see a set I REALLY want then look on eBay and they all go for $85 and up.

Is this set THAT rare?

I have a Deadpool Taco Truck set from SDCC 2013 and this local guy said it "Wasn't worth enough for an equal trade" Made me chuckle until I looked around online and yeah...I see what he meant now. LOL

So disappointing.

They're not necessarily bootlegs -- just Chinese factory rejects (or ones that have been taken from the factory). A lot of times the hairpieces/accessories/whatever get jumbled up.

Most 'mates are made in China. The ones that end up on eBay come from factory workers (or friends/family of factory workers), which is why they are typically priced the way they are.

There are however, ACTUAL BOOTLEGS on eBay -- a few people have misappropriated Luke's or whomever's decals (which are not for sale), made customs, then sold said customs on eBay. For a profit on someone else's hard work. These are the bootlegs & should not be purchased.

The 'Chinese Factory Liberated' ones are harmless-yet-often-silly minimates.

So they're pretty much B-Grades?

Seems like the problem Nike has in China with it's sneakers.

The factory workers will make Nike's shoes according to the quality guidelines, then on their own time, they'll make more to resell on the 'bootleg market' with not quite the same quality build...but close enough.

The only one I wanted was Nightcrawler because he's been hard to come by but I can wait to get a real one for a good price. Plus these look kind of flimsy.

Have any of you noticed the rise of bootleg Minimates on eBay?

These past few months when I do searches for cheap Minimates lots, I'm spotting a lot of sets that I'm sure are bootlegs (considering the price point, where they're being shipped from and the eBay seller's other shady items)

This week I've seen A TON. Mostly Marvel ones.

Not trying to condone the sale of fake stuff I just want to raise awareness. Hopefully it helps some of you avoid them.

Does anyone here have either of these?

I'd love to display the Cryo chamber with a custom Mr Freeze figure I had in mind.

I got a pretty good haul of recent Marvel and Walking Dead stuff. Like 15-16 two packs.

The Street Fighter Vs Tekken line is pretty crappy but for $2.78 it's not a bad purchase especially the ones with Ken & Guile.

I hope Toys R Us continues to carry them. I hate that comic shops might charge more for single Minimates like the Aliens series if they see the demand sky rockets. They're greedy so I know they would, especially in my area.

I wish the Lara Croft ones would go on sale. They have a lot of great looking figures in the set but I really would't pay retail for any of them.
