  1. That reply seems pointedly vague to me - DST didn't say "Yes, we'll still be making minimates". I think that with the announcement of no more resin, DST would be jumping all-over the promotion of whatever Marvel items they still could produce. Just my 2 cents.

  2. Sorry to jump back in and add this bit, but I just re-read your post about your variant Sentry breaking. You claim it broke at the knee. Why not just replace it with a leg from a standard Sentry? I can't believe someone from DST wouldn't have thought of that solution if they couldn't replace the entire fig. All the more reason for me to not believe your claims of poor customer service.

Ummm....maybe because the color is different AND it has a different tampo on it? What a wonderful; idea you had - no wonder you think DST has good customer service.Use your "power" Reideen and delete my account and access to your site. Continue to be a shill for a shit company. Then just die.

  3. I realize the Variant Sentry is in fact a variant, and that make the figure hard to come by. My problem is that I emailed DST about the issue, told them exactly which figure it was, and was told by them to send it back for a replacement. Cost of 2-pack: $9.00 Cost to ship 2-pack to DST: $4.05 Getting screwed over by them because now I'm out $13.05 and am missing Ronin and my broken Sentry: Priceless.

Baltimore Comic-con was last weekend, and since it's literally 15 minutes from their office I can't see them needing that much time to set up for it.

The only show that cleans the DST office out of "useful" people is San Diego.

Face it, they, like their parent company Diamond Comics, enjoy screwing their customers.

  4. I've been collecting Minimates since the first marvel ones came out, and it only seems like recently quality has been an issue. When I got my Avengers wave, my variant Sentry snapped off at the left knee almost immediately after it was removed from the package. I emailed DST support, and was informed to return the broken one for a replacement. I sent the whole thing back - package, broken variant Sentry and Ronin. I never received a replacement and all the subsequent emails I've sent to DST have gone un-answered.

Last week I received my Marvel Zombies 5 pack. Nothing was broken - but Wolverine was missing his left arm entirely! I ordered it from AFX, so I sent them an email informing them of the situation. I received a prompt reply telling me that they will send me a replacement in 2-3 weeks. I'm not sure I believe it, but I'll wait the three weeks to see.

Today I got DC series 5, and Red Tornado's knee breaks just like Sentry! WTF? I know many people are having these problems, but I think I'm done with Minimates due to all this garbage. And on top of it, there's no contact info on the DC mates packaging!

    Done ranting, thanks for reading!

  5. A bunch of the stuff came from Mega Bloks Hulk and Spider-Man sets. The stairs and walkway were hand-crafted from odds and ends. All the lighting came out of video game controllers. The ladder was from Stikfas sets, and the barrels were from a Tamiya accessory kit. No Warhammer 40K were harmed in the construction of this diorama. And Halo blows chunks - long live Goldeneye!

  6. I got my wave 12 set yesterday, and my variant Sentry broke in two places as soon as I pulled him out of the box and tried to pose him! Right knee joint snapped, left hip peg too! Thank you DST & AA, you've lost another customer.
