  1. there are so many great entries its going to be hard to compete. well, heres my entry:

    Jack the Ripper

after the contest is over, i'm planing on splattering him with some red paint to make him a little more gruesome

Due to my (still) impending move, I'm not going to get to participate in this, so I'm giving my idea away. I'd love to see a Rod Serling mate based on this image:

Could be an easy quick custom for someone wanting to enter before the deadline.

i was actually going to do Rod Sterling for my entry before i thought of jack the ripper.

  2. i will be there as well (third year in a row). if they allow photography in the panel i'll try to snag some pics. as for the free minimates, i remember one year when i asked the DST guy if there were any minimate give aways, he just handed me a fist full of starbuck exclusives and a free comic book mate.

  3. New update

Both winter soldier and omega red were done as commissions awhile back; I’m very pleased with the way they turned out.

Redieen was done as my secret Santa gift for… you guessed it, Redieen1313. I even made a little box/mountain packaging for it.

    Recipes

Winter Soldier: standard hair piece (I’m not sure who it originally came from) modified movie hob-goblin chest piece, modified BSG colonial officer belt, repainted minimate body

Omega red: modified akuma hair piece, scratch built armor, modified Mr. fantastic gloves, scratch built boots, repainted belt and minimate body.

Redieen: scratch built headpiece, modified apocalypse armor and gloves, modified movie hulk feet.

  4. Skull buster, this all started when Shane started up this thread right here on December 2. The premise was that everyone who posted to that thread, within a certain amount of time, would be entered into a drawing for a free Minimate of some kind. Many of us did, and then groundhog7 started up this thread right here, so that we could all discuss this unexpected and exciting contest. Over time, it became clear that everyone who entered would be getting a prize, and there was much rejoicing. This thread, that you're reading right now, was started because some people hadn't received their prize yet, and didn't want to be spoiled as to what the prizes were in the 'discussion' thread - count me among that bunch, as yesterday I was thrilled to open up my Santa Skrull Batman! DC Wave 7, to be exact. I'll post a pic shortly.

ok, thanks jadontv, yeah i never saw that thread.

  5. i must have been good this year or something, cause my secret santa was very good to me.

Because patients aren’t one on my virtues, i opened the gift immediately after receiving it this afternoon. To my surprise i could not believe what I got. Pictures are always better then words, soooo....

Not much detective work was needed to know that my secret Santa is Boyd. It was his signature accessories and highly detailed decals that gave him away. Thank you so much Boyd for the lot of rare parts (and some completes), the 2008 green comic con exclusive and that little joker guy. the christmas sweater joker is absolutely awesome, and he even comes with a "holly" explosive bomb (hahaha pun intended). Thanks agian, you rule!!

  6. ahh yes, the zombie santa, comeing down the chimmy to take all the good little girls and boys from there beds, and then feeding there left over internal organs to his ravenous raindeers of death.

in my opinion we should just have a santa wolverine to complete the cycle of wolverines needed to raise such a santa from the dead.

  7. new update!!

continuing with the x-men villians theme, this time we have Pyro and Avalanche in there classic look. these guys were commissioned by a very unexpected sorce and i was more then honered to make them for him.

Up first is Pyro: repainted minimate body, reworked combination of booster gold's collar, Thing's chest peice, and a modified mega blocks backpack, modified wild cat's mask, sculped hair, modified Ryu's hand gards, and tubeing.

Avalanche: repainted minimate body, modified abomination's chest peice, modified new x-men wolverine belt, modified DCD batman mask.

  8. i'ts been awhile but i finally updated everything. This time there are five new customs, includeing a project that i have been working on for myself. (pics are on page 1)

Up first is a classic sabertooth: repainted minimate body, SM3 venom hands and fully sculpted hair and fur.

Next is a classic omega red: repainted minimate body, classic flash belt and modified boots. fully sculpted hair and armor. the tenticals are made from twisted wire.

Dr. Pepper-mate: fully repainted minimate body.

Badger-Mate: this one was for the charity aution that just ended. he is a fully repainted minimate body, SM3 venom chest, and modified SM3 goblin boots. fully sulpted head, and hands, the claws are made from sharpend bobby pins.

Stan Lee mate: this guy was made for the preview party that took place at the vergin mega moble store the day before the start of the new york comic con. stan lee was supposed to be siging things, but what ended up happening was i had to give my minimate to one of his agents and they would have him sign it at a later date and then send it to my house. the picture you see was a chance of fate or some really really good luck, because no one was able to could get close to him the whole night. i was able to just catch him outside the store as he was waiting for his limo.

last but not least , the X-file office model: i strated it about a year ago, and had to keep putting it off to the side every now and then but it eventually got done. i was able to take it to the new youk comic con and got it signed by the series creators chris carter and frank spotnitz. its made from various materals there are just to many to name, but everything it is handcrafted.

well thats it for now, and as always comments are welcome. (please disregared any spelling or grammer errors. :D )
