  1. First seen with IM3. The arms effectively turn the ball joint into a swivel joint with no lateral movement, only up/down.  I don't think they add a whole lot visually.  CW Falcon's arms, with a similar design, manage to retain full range of motion.

  2. I picked up the Ant-man/Falcon set at TRU this week.  Great set.  Falcon has my vote for 'Mate of the Year so far.  He's just so cool.  I love that wee got Redwing.  Two guns would have been nice, but by no means a deal breaker.  I'm thinking about trying to track down a second to heat and mold the wings into the shield position.

  3. The Squad was well done, but the story was pretty bad, and it's pretty clear with awkward edits that there were two movies going on.  I think at one point Deadshot says something about the flying circle of garbage.  That's how I felt about the plot too.  May as well have just named the villains McGuffin.  I thought the licensed music was will chosen and fit well, but the original score was really off.  It was still very enjoyable just to watch the squad in action.  Waller was perfect.  Far from a perfect start, but I'm looking forward to their next outing.

Oh, tons of people clapped when it ended and there was lots of laughing throughout.  I think for all of this movies faults, the critics aren't connecting with moviegoers.

  4. Phyla Vell/ Moondragon

    Mockingbird/Kate Bishop

    Armor/ANXM X-23

    Misty Knight/Colleen Wing

Marvel Girl/FA Rogue (maybe with a hairpiece and some other parts for modern Rogue)

Mantis/ Gamora (DnA GotG blue and red)

Wasp (black suit with gold on front)/ Jocasta

I look at animated 'mates as a seperate group like the Marvel movie waves, but considering they're all built on the same bodies, I can utilize a character that we only have in animated or movie style as the default version until another one is made. I used movie Odin until the comic style one was made the same way. And if it weren't for Steven Anne deciding to have the poll, we wouldn't be debating the viability of Squirrel Girl or Man-Thing at all, so I try to view the animated 'mates as a supplemental line. We still don't have comic versions of the Guardians of the Galaxy, but we have movie and animated versions. Your mileage may vary.

That's more or less how I look at it.  I've got a few animated mates, but they're cherry picked.  Either characters that look good enough with the main line like Spidey 2099 or characters that I just love and think there mates look good like GotG.  I picked up Hawkeye with plans to eventually QC him into a pass asble Aja version, but I'm sorry lazy.  And then some characters, like Squirrel Girl, wouldn't even be on the table without the animated line.  I'm not planning on getting hey, but I think she's one that would work with comic mates.

As for SDCC, Hyperion is the only new mate that really has me interested.  Did all of the Squadron appear on whatever animated show they appeared on?  I'd like to have them all.  Looking forward to Superman v. Omni-Man v. Hyperion in minimate form.

And it's a travesty that we don't have comic GotG yet.
