  1. ^^^That's pretty much what I did on the date it says I was last active at AA. In fact, I put my account up for deletion in mid December, but could still sign in on the 28th. All it said was that my account was marked for deletion, but I could reactivate it easily. That is still the case today ~ I just checked!

  2. ^^^Even though you'd have to go back four pages in 'Star Trek' to find my last post, I just checked and my account has still not been deleted.

I quit the AA forum because of the moronic behaviour of one particular poster ~ that person seemed to typify what the place had become. You could no longer have a reasonable debate there. I'm just wondering how much longer it will be before the rest of the AA members who post here and on Mark's site finally quit AA in exasperation. I don't reckon it'll be long.

  3. As I'm sure Bernsie looks in on us every now and again, but if you want to find him go a knocking at FHCs door on a certain forum and maybe you might just find the man they call filthy berns :D

...........yep, and with the most annoying avatar ever ~ one that combines my most-hated elements from all the old ones that I hated already. :verymad:

I think he did it deliberately.....but I've sworn off bickering...so he's prolly very disappointed!

  4. Woo I no longer have an account there! I've joined Jules in her deletion!

(well its inactive until one of their staff finally deletes me... if they ever do)

I just came out of a 3 hour written exam and my finger hurts like hell, so I was going to postpone any internet activity until tomorrow, but I couldn't resist chiming in here!

My AA account has still not been deleted either. "Mrs Shinzon" lives apparently...although pretty inactive!

But seeing this thread, I checked out the latest poo-fest over there with great amusement, and sensed several other Cheshire Cat grins hovering over the graveyard!

Whoever "The Truth" is has some good points to make, and is frankly much less of a troll than the obnoxious guy that finally convinced me that I didn't want to be there any more. I've got no idea who 'The Truth' is, but the manner does seem familiar! I see the "Making Amends" thread has been revived, and I can't believe that running sore hasn't been resolved in spite of all their promises. What a farce!

  5. There are less Star Trek geeks on here (no offense Trekkies lol).

Offence? Who's taking offence .........gnash! gnash! :whistling::yucky:

Seriously, I know this guy Ady who I used to enjoy giving grief to over at AA. When he set up this site, I stalked him down and he let me stay....'cos he loves the grief really! (Sometimes I go to his home town and stake out his favourite haunts! :teehee: Is your office still next to the station Adeeeeeeeeeeee?? )

In any case, where else has anyone ever designed a concept minimate for me? And where else can you witness the smoothness **cough** that is TBT? :excl:

Anyway, Ady now has the cool dancing banana!

  6. ^^^True, Trek was well into decline (and with JJ Abrams now at the helm you truly can belive in a fate worse than death! ), but the 7" collectors at least never went short of product, it was a pretty consistant if slow trickle, and now we can hardly keep up AA are pushing out product so fast!

I too used to hate the esoteric 'wish lists', but then if I saw an obvious wishlist thread, then I stayed out of it. The same with the Ent E debacle and other ships threads. I didn't used to go and wag my finger at them. Talking about Trek itself is different, of course!

Trek is a very different animal than other franchises that breed toys. It's as simple as that. It's down to the moderation here to make it plain that toys is the reason why thet should be posting here, and maybe keep the tedious wishlists tidied into one thread! TBH, you're not going to get some of the most rampant Trek Talk posters here (OK, you got one! ) because I don't think they'll buy minimates. They tend to be into 7" action figures, Playmates, Mego, props and ~ of course ~ships! ;)

For instance, you're not going to get a certain Belgian dropping buy because he only likes figures in clothes!

  7. ^^ We havent seen the last of Ms Shinzon to be, you can count on that.... all though if indeed there are more Trek mates, then there is a chance that those Trek fans may find there way... shields to full and arm the torpedoes this is going to be fun.

Thanks TK and Cappy! As I suggested to Ady in another thread, just make sure that if they come you keep 'em in line and talking soley about minimates and that should keep things on an even keel! (just don't mention JJ Abrams and you should be good to go! )

In any case, my one YSK minimate is getting lonely, and it looks like cool things could be on the horizon for Trek minimate collectors ~ it would be about time!

  8. ^^^Well, that's because your members are well and truly settled here and the new AA board sucks behind. I have put my AA account up for deletion because of a certain idiot that can't resist making trouble.

Just make sure that you make it clear that your "Trek Talk" section is only for talking about the minimates, and that should keep things civil! :)

  9. The biggest problem I'll have with Trek Minimates will be the inevitable chase figures. I friggin' HATE those things only because most of the time I really want to add them to my collection. And NOT because they're chase figures but because they're really cool variants. I'd hate to think that a character like Locutus would end up being a rare chase figure, but then again look at Black Spidey. <_<

...........Welcome to the world we 7" action figures already live in! A word to the wise: just don't go expressing that opinion over at the AA boards ~ if ever you were inclined to ;) ~ because some loser with way to much time on his hands will berate you for having the temerity to complain!

  10. If we add a Trek forum, brace yourself for an influx of jackasses.

Can we just say for the record right now that we'll ban people who start threads like "Who's the best Star Trek Captain?" ;)

This place was so nice without the Trek element - oh well, I'm sure they felt the same about us back at the AA forums.

To be fair to the Trekkers though, "Trek Talk" was by far and away the busiest section on the AA forums ~ as it is now. AA were largely at fault themselves for inviting Trekkers to post their opinions about the shows and the films ~ not just the toys and divisions between the two got muddied. This plainly is a forum to discuss toys and collecting. FHC site remains on track because Trekkers go there to discuss toys and collecting ~ opinions go over to TU where you will see some familiar names still slugging it out!

  11. ^^^A wet finger in the air suggest it will be more TOS.

We hear that the TNG 7" action figure lines hasn't sold in the quantities hoped so I doubt if it will be TNG, and with likelihood of the next Star Trek movie being a return to Kirk and Spock (don't get me started! <_< ), I would think TOS is what you'll be getting. TWOK movie figures have been announced for the 7" action figure line ~ maybe they'll go that way?

  12. Having got away with it for the last 7 years.........the Copes are hosting Christmas at home.

We left everything to the last minute and I ended upmaking crackers out of loo roll and wrapping paper, goose fat is rarer than rocking horse poo, and we snaffled some holly we found underneath a car in Asda car park for our decorations!

I'm expecting at least one Star Trek related pressie, and one Doctor Who, please God don't let it be a cyberman............I don't want nightmares! :o (Especially on the sofa bed in the lounge ~ which is where we'll be spending the nights. :( And the doors downstairs are all glass-panelled, so we won't be getting up to anything else besides sleeping! ;)).

I saw Come Dine With Me on TV last night. It was set in Ady's home town, and I thought I saw some guy scurrying through York's ancent streets with a pile of comics! :P

Anyhoo...whoever you are....whoever you're with.....and whereever you are, have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!!!

  13. Thanks guys!

MRPL: I LMFAO! I've got to ask, did you get some nice paper clips embedded in that too? :P:P

TBH, I'm really not sad about deleting my account at AA, and I guess that shows to what degree I've found the new forum so demoralizing. There's no community spirit: just a bunch of mean-spirited sniping from people who seem to go there just to do that, and most of the threads are as dull as ditch-water. I don't feel like I left the AA forum today...I actually think I left it behind when the other forum went down!

Anyway, I shall look back fondly at the good old days and be grateful that out of it derived two great new forums and loadsa friends.

....and MRPL can thank AA for making his roses nice and healthy.:lol:
