I’m in love with this wave. Twelve years ago, the Giant Size X-Men Boxed Set made me start to collect Minmates, so this series is a special one for me. I received them yesterday from Luke and I haven't noticed any QC issues beyond the problem with the stands. I hardened a couple of loose articulations, changed the Nightcrawler shoulder piece for the shoulder pads from the previous one and changed the upper parts from Wolverine arms for the hairy arms of the TRU 20 Wolverine (apparently I like hairy arms) and I’m ready to go.

I admit that I have a tendency to spread legs of female mates, but only because that makes them shorter!

I always had the feeling that my classic Avengers team was lacking something and when I saw your classic Wasp micromate I knew exactly what it was. For some reason, I always was a fan of shrinking superheroes and I was happy to add them to the rosters. The Puppet Masters puppets are kinda static, but enough generic and multipurpose to give us a good base for this kind of characters.

In fact, Human Torch is the regular TRU Wave 15 release and Reed's torso was enough unisex, al least for me, to give it to Sue.

So then, to recap, the unnamed Marvel SDCC 2013 Exclusive set is an unique x-related set with one Uncanny Avenger on it and thematically and compositionally more closer to The Many Faces of Wolverine set than to the hipotetic Brotherbood set, right? Or am I mixing two sets?

If i'm not mixing things, being x-related, it means that Havok, Rogue, Sunfire or Wolverine should be on it. Maybe an "X-Men Friends and Foes" set with a mix-up of characters including Sunfire, some overdue Brotherhood and some A-lister? An "X-Men Females" set including Rogue, Storm, Mystique and Jean? "The Many Many faces of Wolverine" including... hurm... Wolverine (Weapon X Wolverine with helmet, I'm looking at you)?

Right now, I have no clue what it could be.

Hurm... I guess Captain America themed wave is the best bet because there are three highly requested Wave 50 poll runners-up that fit there: Falcon, Winter Soldier (as a villian) and Baron Strucker. An Avengers themed wave with just one new hero would exclude either Black Knight or Falcon and there is no specific Avengers villains among the Wave 50 poll runners-up apart from Wrecker (maybe Abomination or Strucker?). Despite how much I'd like a Hulk themed wave, include Wrecker over there would be kinda a stretch because I think he's traditionally a Thor or Avengers enemy, not a Hulk one. And finally, an X-Men themed wave should include three out of Banshee, Gladiator (as villian), Mojo and Apocalypse, which I think it's a strange combination.

Oh, well, I'd buy whatever they put out the hat.

Between the release date of Captain America: The Winter Soldier earlier next year and the Avengers oriented TRU wave 17, I'm leaning towards the Captain America corner of the Marvel Universe. Something along the lines of:

Captain America variant and Falcon (Two heroes)

New Red Skull, Winter Soldier, Baron Strucker and Viper (Three new villains)

New Hydra Soldier (highly requested army builder)

This said, I'd too love a Days of Future Past themed wave including an updated Mystique, Blob, Avalanche, Pyro, updated Sentinel and the unavoidable Wolverine.

Though the X-Men shot point's out that we need to add "Kitty as Sprite" to our list of missing essential X-men. (others being Banshee, Forge, and classic Sunfire)

Yep, ideally at some point we'll get an updated Giant Size X-Men boxset (Cyclops with optic blast effect and glove cuffs, Colossus and Storm with accurate costumes and Wolverine or Nightcrawler) along with a couple of TRU sets (Sunfire and Banshee, Kitty and either Logan or Kurt). Krakoa the Living Island is out of limits, isn't it?

The arriving of the brand-new Scarlet Witch inspired me to do a couple of shots about the teams which I love while I was growing up.
