  1. Got mine today and I may say, this is an absolute winner. Reminds me a lot of the first Alpha Flight set. In that not only are we getting much needed characters that look great, but there is nothing at all to complain about. Joints are snug but not stuck, paint aps are perfect, stands are the newer hard plastic as seen in the Best of 2 wave, accessories fit perfect, just great work all around. I know we're still early in the year, but it's gonna be tough to dethrone this as "best box set" of 2013.

    I wouldn't count out the yet-to-be-revealed IM3 one.

I would. I appreciate it for what it is, but I'm not into the movie stuff at all. To me visually, even an A+++ movie set can't compete with a B+ comic set.

Makes sense. I'm curious about the "unique" box set that Zach mentioned.

  3. I would guess it's going to be DOFP in the same way that First Class was "First Class," or X3 was "The Phoenix Saga." There are going to be some X-men in it, there's going to be time-travel, and there are going to be a bunch of randomly-selected characters that look look on posters and may or may not have some relation to their characters in the books.

Well put. although X3 was technically "The Last Stand" bwahaha. We'll see how close "The Wolverine" is to "The Wolverine". Trailer was "meh" IMO.

  4. I'm no Luke but I liked kaipo's suggestion so much that I just had to make one for my own...

    i just nerdgasmed

That looks so perfect. Just include the alternate regular torso piece and we'd be good to go. DST get on this!

  5. Beautiful, the Phoenix Force 5 are some of my favorite costume designs, really hope we get Magik

Do you play Avengers Alliance? that's the game that the first image is from

  6. I'll attempt to be serious about Female Minimates ,so no mass debating ...........

Two of my all time Top 20 Minimates would include Valkyrie & Wonder Woman & it is amazing how well both stand up to scrutiny some 6 years after each was produced . I love minimates & I love sex..... I'm probably unusual in not requiring the internet for the latter tongue.png . Sexiness is perhaps lacking in many female minimates, this is probably healthy for the target audience which sadly isn't most of us here .

The average male will 'check out' a female in the manner males do .....I shan't elaborate too much because Dino's monitor has just been cleaned.......& unfortunately too many female Minimates appear to have big arses & fat legs when they're wearing a formal skirt or dress . I give you Mary Jane who looks like this in the comics......

    attachicon.gif250px-Mary_Jane_Watson.jpg

.......I swear I'd have married her in the day ,she's just gorgeous .

Her Minimate appears to have eaten most of the pies

That is an extreme example but the hip-heaviness that is inherent in the Minimate design just doesn't help at times.

So what shall I say about female breasts on Minimates ? There are some beauties but they are almost universally painted wink.png & to my mind the ones that succeed the best are where the design of the costume accentuates the breasts. Most superheroines' costumes accentuate the breasts but this is a 'no go' with many civilians & that's perhaps why they often don't appeal . That is perhaps the most simplistic & sexist thing I have ever written but I believe it to be true.

I've always felt this way, glad someone said it first. Block figures just don't compliment a woman's curves. :P

This mary jane might be a better inspiration for the minimate. ..... teehee.gif

  7. Back to the topic. THIS Stan variant would sell truckloads. (Give him an iron man gauntlet as well)

Easy to produce, all the parts are reused.

One of Luke's masterpieces....sorry forgot that earlier .

    Please QC this Luke.... biggrin.png

  8. I'll take a ' Battle-damaged Sue-er Stan' or a 'Litigation Lee' tongue.png

bhm's/DST's best battle damaged Minimate by a country mile - Mk.3 Iron Man (Hostile Takeover) which is immensely superior to the Wave 21 version .

Agreed. The wave 21/first iron man movie armors are the best (mark

2,3,damaged 3, and stealth). I prefer them to all of the IM2 ones. More

detail (mark 2 rivets....) and more accessories (Removeable faceplates,

    alternate legs, fire foot blasts)
