I was going to suggest that you could use the jacket from wave 82 Cyk on this one after you take off his web gear, but looking up what morph looked like in the show, you'd need to used a wave 60 mate to achieve that look

Yeah, I think the look I want won’t ever be achieved to be honest as it would have to have that gear molded to the jacket so they are both 3D. Either way I am ok with the whole thing. Hopefully they keep the blues the same so there is mix and match options.

If you've got as far as reading to here ...thank you & I'll repay you by not even suggesting that Cyclops & Jean look awfully like the Wave 34 incarnations.

They basically are but with better paint but that is what the XTAS did. It will be interesting to see how and if they tackle Storm.  I hear everything you are saying for Juggy but as someone that broke his Excalibur one that lacks @Heinous skills I will go with this one. I did see someone post a photo with a POPS Juggy and Minimates that looked good.

As for Jean, I cannot believe I am annoyed that the head piece isn’t painted on ? normally I’d be jumping up and down that it isn’t but now I can’t put a long hair piece on this one. The Cyclops having gear was exciting since I expected it to be painted on and then have a jacket with it.

Either way I’ll get two sets.

I actually enjoy a good argument, but I enjoy pointing out misstated facts and assumptions even more! We should have our own podcast, spare these people.

Zach, I wouldn’t even have a free drink with you. If there was a way to block you on this forum I would the same way I’ve blocked you everywhere else. I have actually had conversations about your brand with retailers since I worked with some. None of them can refute this conspiracy theory claim of yours that hasbro or LEGO are blocking things for DST.  From what I’ve seen in person, data runs and online you are a problem as a poor presenter and marketer— and a dick.

He also said he didn't like them as much as the Marvel Legends, so it doesn't sound like he was a guaranteed sale we lost.

At $8 a pop, Walgreens Minimates aren't usually a budgeted item, not like a $20 Legends figure (or 4), they're a lot closer to being an impulse item.

And distribution through Walgreens is dependent on a lot of factors, including warehouse stock status and individual store inventory. I stand by my decision not to send people out in a pandemic to look for toys that are not on the shelf.

That EXACT QUOTE means you lost a sale due to a lack of awareness. You need to do your job and ACTUALLY get to know your audience. $8 plus tax may not be a lot to YOU but it is clearly for some people including kids. What the poster said was “I have a budget. I didn’t know about these figures. I budgeted for A Marvel Legends figure (which is the same price point as buying both sets). The figure I was PLANNING on buying is better than these 4 figures I didn’t know about. I’m sticking to my plan.”

What you aren’t getting is that HAD they known about the figures they MAY have budgeted for BOTH or been so excited that even though the figures aren’t as good as said Legend they may have been persuaded into buying the figure.

I get you are defensive about this but if you actually put your ego aside and LISTENED To what I and some of the other marketers on here have been telling you for years it would probably would be beneficial for the brand. As for your earlier comment toward me: DST is not marvel. You will never BE Marvel. You license THEIR product and instead of getting the Halo effect early you blow it and then claim a lack of interest. Look at what Hasbro just did with their ridiculous Sentinel. They got so much brand affinity that people are waiting a YEAR for a delivery after paying hundreds of Dollars.

How do they do that? Brand love— which DST doesn’t have with the mass market and with the way DST is marketing you never will.

First off I thought we had an understanding to ignore each other on here since it isn’t an enjoyable experience for either of us.

    Secondly: the EXACT quote is:

Well, this came out of nowhere. Sadly didnt know about them so didnt budget for them and they arent better then the Legends stuff I did budget for.

I’ll still buy them to support the line but not announcing/promoting them before the game was released and using the hype to try and get some minimate interest going is disappointing.

I’ve gone from disappointed, to rage to full on expecting it. It’s almost as if they want to go out of business.

I'm actually a little bummed we didn't get Minimates for this game. Not only because I like the in-game designs, but also because it just seems like a missed opportunity. If DST worked something out with say GameStop, a 4 or 5 pack to coincide with the game's release, they could've really had something!

    This applies to many things.

Has anyone been to one of the two TRUs in NJ or TX?

The one in NJ seems like a glorified kiosk with an extremely limited selection. All style, no substance. I'm thinking they should be pandering to consumer nostalgia aesthetically while focusing any rebuilding efforts on infrastructure.

I'd sooner drive five hours to the one in Ontario.

Nope. I’m with you on this one.

C'mon ,cheer up things could be worse   Much to my surprise Minimates are still being made .....that's good .

As a long-time online purchaser ........everything in my collection was sent to me......I don't miss 'stores' although I understand why many people do.

True we do still get them. Now I always buy a set from a LCS but the majority I buy from Luke. For Walgreens stuff I buy and ship out to anyone in need.

It does make me feel a little better but I also think of all the exclusive minimates which would’ve been made in that meantime.

So tired of this literally godforsaken year.

Weirdly I'm with you. The brick and mortar apocalypse was coming and the need for a good online store had already caught  up with DST but the thought of what if... that will always be haunting. We could have had several waves of goodness. Or maybe just the same waves that ended up at Walgreens. Hell, it would have ben great to have a 30th anniversary wave celebrating the New Warriors but we rarely get nice things anymore.
