  1. Once again, I have an idea of box set that you'd make me pretty happy: classic disco Dazzler, classic Rogue, Mystique and Destiny. I've heard that female sets don't sell so well as other sets, but geez... Imagine the disco Dazzler mate with silver outfit and roller blades (dreaming is free, right?!).

For a modern look, I'd vote for the recent looks for Cyclops, Magik (with Phoenix Five variant), Magneto, Rogue, Storm and Rachel Summers.

  2. Disco Dazzler has been in my wishlist for quite some time along with classic Rogue, Destiny... And Lord may know why we still don't have classic Banshee and Sunfire.

I wouldn't mind at all having some cool mates inspired on the West Coast Avengers as well. Not a huge fan of the team, but hey... many cool characters there waiting for their chance!

  3. the only other things I can think of is the TRU Iron Man/Rhino pack, IMs legs would pop off constantly and Rhino had 2 left legs. and the trouble finding TRU IM3 mates with decent paint, that was tough.

Gosh, my Iron man from this wave sux!!! Can't make his legs stop from falling at all!

  4. AoA Colossus was one of the designs i really loved from the cross-over. I would be quite happy to receive him as a minimate one day. Unfortunately, i don't really see AA/DST going back to do more AoA figures any time soon.

Maybe at the next big anniversary? (20th)

Yeap... I don't think we'll get more AoA mates soon either. Maybe the right timing is gone. But you know what I'd really like to see? A wave focused on unfinished teams or storylines, like Fear Itself and Avengers vs X-Men... :(

  5. Wow... I'd certainly not complain having another AoA boxset! Storm, Colossus, Kitty Pryde and Iceman, to name a few, got really nice redesigns!

As for the Enchantress mate, even though she battled Dazzler in some issues, I'd rather see her on a Thor-related wave that included other missing asgardian characters.

  6. I always read everybody's guessings, but I never really gave it a try. Though I can't say a whole wave, I have a suggestion about a boxset that occurred to me while I was reading Dazzler's Essential...

    - Disco Dazzler (imagine if we got rollerblades for her!!)

    - Mystique (a redo for her wouldn't hurt)

    - Destiny (classic and complete with an extra head with sunglasses!)

    - First appearance Rogue (really nice green outfit with short hair)

What do you think? I'm not sure a 4-pack with only female mates would sell like water in the desert, but I'd buy it with a damn smile on my face, that's for sure! :)

  7. wow!
I'm pretty excited here! Since the new Thunderbolts hasn't been released in Brazil so far (as the entire Marvel NOW! line), I'm still reading their previous run. I'd love to get a Ghost minimate! He's so creepy!!

As for the new line up, I thought the Red She-Hulk was part of it! Anyway, she'd make a really nice addition to anyone's collection! :)

  8. I guess it's past time we got an Enchantress Minimate. I love her green outfit with those circles. But I've got to confess that, while reading some old Dazzler issues last month, I just couldn't stop thinking how awesome it would be to have a disco Dazzler, an updated Mystique followed by Destiny and evil Rogue...

(of course it'd be nice to add Pyro, Blob and Avalanche to the bunch!)

  9. Can anyone send me those? You'll be eternally welcome in Brazil... lol

I still have to buy wave 48. I've just finished TRU wave 8 (FF too). I've never been a huge FF fan, but I've got to confess that Byrne's run is simply amazing!

  10. I love Boondock's range too - and his sell prices are very fair. Alas, his international shipping is insanely high. It's not his fault. I suppose he's had a few bad experiences in the past and just wants to cover his backside by insisting on tracked shipping at all times, but unfortunately it makes buying from him a bit prohibitive.

Couldn't agree more. I recently got a Rachel Grey variant set that I was REALLY looking for in order to complete my classic Excalibur team, but the shipping fee will be 3x the price I paid for the set... :(

  11. Hey Daniel, it's great to see you here. Hopefully you'll find more of what you need here (since I could only help you out with a Spider-Carnage). thumbsup.gif

I have to confess that you inspired me to post here! :)

Welcome to the black hole in which you were sucked into

Thank you very much for the warming welcome! :)

    O.M.G.

You are my new best friend. Tell me everything! Where do you live? What's the weather like? Hows the travel and safety in your country? Are you excited for the Olympics I have this crazy nebulous idea about backpacking there. Does everyone really speak Portuguese? Or are there Spanish speakers too? How far inland do you have to get before you speak Spanish? Are the comic shops in English or Portuguese. Tell me!

    Also, hi.

    LOL

I'm always delighted when people want to know about Brazil. When I was visiting NY last July, a saleswoman from Sacks was amazed to find out that I hate guavas. :)

I live in São Paulo, the most important capital city from Brazil. It may not be the main tourist attraction, since it doesn't offer beautiful beaches like Rio de Janeiro, but it's a really huge city. We have people from all over the world.

Our native language is PORTUGUESE... I really have no idea why people think we speak Spanish. Well, it's pretty similar, I know, but we were colonized by the Portuguese guys. I don't speak Spanish at all... lol

Comics here in Brazil are translated into Portuguese. The main publisher we have is Panini, which I guess is known in Europe or something like that. We usually have a difference of one year from American comics. For example, the last saga we had here in Brazil was Fear Itself (what we called "A Essência do Medo" or "The Essence of Fear").

Thank you for your welcome! Where are you from?

Welcome to the 'verse and your new addiction, Daniel!

And you're not the only one living oustide of Minimate-Country. A lot of us are from all over the world and we've found our ways to get our 2" plastic crack. Besides our Fleamarket, Luke's Toystore might be a good start for current releases.

I noticed that Minimates are only sold in the United States, right? I hope to make some cool deals at the Fleamarket! :)

    Bom dia!!

Where are you from in Brazil? I am visiting Passo Fundo, Gramado, and Canela(RS) at the end of Feb. beginning of Mar. My wife is from Londrina in Parana state.

Maybe we can work something to get you some mates de forma mais barata.thumbsup.gif

Boa tarde! (I'm writing at 2 p.m. right now)

I'm from São Paulo and I've never been to RS or Paraná. I wish I could've visited more Brazilian States... :( I hope you enjoy your trip to Brazil. It's a gorgeous country! :)

  12. Hello everybody!

My name is Daniel and I'm from Brazil. I'm 30 years old and I collect Marvel comics since I was... actually, I don' t remember how old I was. I know that my passion for comics started in 1994.

I had the chance to know the Marvel Minimates series last July when I was on vacation in New York. I was amazed by the details and amount of obscure characters. And so I decided to give it a try, knowing that I wouldn't rest until I got all of them.

Unfortunately, they are quite impossible to be found here in my country so I depend basically on Ebay auctions. Sometimes I get them for a fair price, but the shipping fee is depressing.

Well, I guess that's it. I'm a regular reader but I never really posted anything until today. Hope to share my opinions and ideas with you guys.

    Daniel
    :)
