  1. And from my perspective you don't get to 59 series of Marvel Minimates by intentionally letting minor errors slip through because a few consumers accept it.

Except it's not an error. The figure was designed from provided artwork, a design approved by Marvel, a figure painted to look like the art and approved as a painted prototype. And the sample matches it exactly. What people here want (and I understand why they do) is an UPDATE to a finished, approved, accurate-to-art-provided figure.

I didn't fall over myself to request a change earlier because, while it could be MORE accurate based on new artwork, it would be extra work for an already busy design team, and another round of approvals for both us and Marvel. ANXM sells well, I believe, but I think many customers will be in the "not aware of the exact costume details" camp.

^This. So, Zach, when are we gonna have a final decision on this?

  2. The thought of buying a case and ending up with duplicates of main characters is bringing back that terrible taste I had in my mouth from the early days of Marvel Minimates. While I'll admit that it's better to have multiples of a toy that's as interchangeable as Minimates, I hated having multiples of Spider-Man, Silver Surfer, Yellow Daredevil, etc. I was thrilled when army-building characters replaced those them and will not look forward to having extras of main characters again.

That said, if the case this completist is coerced to buy happens to be identical to what's being sold in big box stores like Walmart, I'll feel zero guilt about returning unopened leftovers to them. After all, they'll have no trouble moving this can't-lose gimmick, right? devil.gif

That sounds like a great plan.

  3. Without a "cheat sheet," I'm afraid I'd have to give up on Marvel mates if they go the blind bag route. It's stressful enough as it is tracking down TRU exclusives. I don't even want to think about tracking down short packed figures or having to pay the inevitably high secondary market prices.
