Thanks! I'll probably eventually go back and paint the boots & belt a bright yellow to make them pop a little  more, but I was pretty pleased with how the tiger striping came out.

There a ton of fun villains from Shang-Chi's past that could be done, to varying degrees of difficulty from easy QC to a little more involved, so I may stay in this lane for a bit...

a bunch of shang-chi's villains popped up in recent issues of the Domino series.  interesting group!

    USAgent and Batroc

apropos of nothing, man i love usagent.  probably my favorite character ever.  great little minimate too.  flawed marvel legends figure tho.  i really hope that cryptic captain america related tweet by john cena signifies the perfect MCU casting of cena as john walker.

My only real familiarity with Nightwatch is Charlie Soule's She-Hulk series, which used him very effectively.

i enjoyed that series and my comic book nerdiness compels me to make sure you know about Gwenpool Special #1from 3 years ago.  it acts as the unofficial last issue of that she-hulk series.

  4. i've noticed a change in the way symbiote suit spidey is drawn lately in marvel comics.  the eyes seem to extend beyond the mask as if they were a funky pair of spidey-eyed glasses.  i think i recall seeing a pic of an upcoming marvel legends figure with these 3-D eyes.  maybe a new symbiote spidey minimate will sport them?

I really would like more Daredevil folks. Ikari, the Owl, Melvin Potter, Blindspot, Typhoid Mary, Mister Fear, Muse. More Daredevil, please!

original look typhoid mary please!  i wish the recent ML figure wasn't so darn bland.  i'd like a red three-piece suit look matt murdock w/ inter changeable "i'm not daredevil" sweater

For some reason I always think they made constrictor but I don't think they did

he was never a member!  funny you mentioning him.  i just read his wikipedia entry yesterday after completing the latest iron fist collection.  was a fun out of the blue read.

But then, I didn't choose the line-up, although I weighed in on an earlier version.

do you have a favorite character that has yet to be made?

  8. nightwatch played a significant role in the really enjoyable charles soule she-hulk book.  the best arc of that book is the she-hulk/daredevil/old man steve rogers arc.  good stuff.

  9. Interesting that Pepper Potts is being referred to as 'Rescue Armor Iron Man'.

I'm guessing this is purely to make the best sales impact possible, as Iron Man will be recognised by more kids than Rescue will.

I was wondering about that too. I seem to remember Zach saying that they couldn't count Steve Rogers in his Super Solider costume as a Captain America variant because they couldn't call him "Captain America" on the package. I guess Pepper in the Rescue Armor could technically be called Iron Man, but it feels like a bit of a stretch. If I was a kid thinking I was getting Iron Man and there was a woman's face underneath the mask I'd be disappointed.

    Samus Aran flashback!

  10. I've read a lot of DD and I always question why. Unless he's written right, he's a very boring character overall (to me) and he's not very easy to market. With the exception of the original and the Shadowlands outfits, he's worn the same look for as long as he's been a character. I suppose when you're blind it doesn't matter what you wear, but he's really in that catergory where he's only known to people if he's in the classic red costume (similar to Black Panther & Doctor Strange, who mostly can't be recognized outside of the normal costume). DD's movie (along with Elektra's spinoff) where far from expectations and his comic isn't very memorable at the moment. I'm not saying the villains he fights aren't somewhat interesting or wouldn't look spectacular in Minimate form, just that they wouldn't draw in that many people. With only so many slots in a year, I'd rather see DD get one two pack every year or two and let better and more well-known charactes fill the void he leaves.

Yeah, it's a boring day at work today.

oh man! if you say DD's comic isn't memorable at the moment and then say you're bored at work, it makes me think they're jugglers and balloon artists and a rave going on in the conference room! i couldn't disagree with you more about the current state of the comic. matter of fact, an upcoming issue of DD has a free digital code for a copy of said comic that i'd love to give to you so you can give it a try. it's a title that's worth a look or even a second look.

i second the vote for an Ikari 'mate.

And regardless of how well the writing or art is right now, DDs influence on the MU in general and his gallery of villains really isn't recognizable to most people. I'd say if you asked around here people could name off tons of recognizable characters from other books that haven't been made into Minimates yet, yet if you asked for the top 10 DD characters that need Minimates you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who could come up with that without digging deep or naming a bunch of unknown character. A Frank Miller set would be awesome, but other than a small handful of characters Daredevil doesn't have much to offer. Obviously, just my opinion, but well written and received books don't naturally translate well to toy sales.

I'll do my homework, though, and read the first few arcs tonight and see if my opinion changes.

i totally agree on your points above. very cool of you to rethink your view on the comic. that offer still stands for the free code if you're interested!
