i feel like it means super obscure or super outlandish, since people here have been requesting most of those for a while now, which is why i think this is Doops time to shine
Yes, I was responding more to Zakkats response to your list. I forgot to include Shang-Chi, the Master of Kung Fu, as a possible figure.

49 and TRU 16 are both Marvel NOW. That's 15 Minimate slots to fill (no sharing, remember). Even if we do all of those guys, and I'm not saying we are, that leaves 10 slots. A couple of those slots you will never guess. Ever. EVER. I still can't believe they're in there.
This post makes it seem that there are some fairly obscure characters included, and not just heavy hitters. I think all bets are off. Sunfire. Falcon. Groot. Misty Knight. Red She Hulk. Rocket Raccoon. Enchantress. Captain Marvel. They are all in play.

Sunspot is behind Thor. Eden Fesi is behind Captain Marvel.
To be fair, I don't remember Sunspot having "flame on" ability either (and I kind of don't like it - makes him less unique).

Yes, miniwasp as an accessory ala silver surfer from The heralds of galactus. (this idea was stolen from a recent ask dst).
-
I think its too early to guess as we don't know which characters will be fleshing out some of these teams. Uncanny xmen features cyclops emma magneto and magik recruiting new mutants. Fearless defenders is an all girl team with valkyrie and misty knight.

I guess the guy behind Captain Marvel is Manifold, Eden Fesi from Secret Warriors. From this link, Shang Chi, the Master of Kung Fu, is also going to be joining the Avengers.

We probably need some villains to play with as well.

If Chuck can be believed, there will not be a Medusa or Tigra.

Ben WaterburyAny plans for Medusa, Tigra, and Nocturne in the Marvel Minimates line?
DST CHUCK: Not right now…
Who do we think that is in the upper right? Falcon? Spider-Woman? Stingray? What about the guy behind Captain Marvel?
it's falcon. he's got to be a part of this.
WHo is that behind Thor? Is that Sunspot?

Nick Fury Jr. should be paired with Captain America.
I was thinking that a Young Thor and Old King Thor would make a good variation to share with an army builder.

Eid al-Adha also called Feast of the Sacrifice, is an important 3-day religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honor the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his young first-born son Ismail (Ishmael) a as an act of submission to God and his son's acceptance of the sacrifice, before God intervened to provide Abraham with a ram to sacrifice instead. The 3 days and 2 nights of Eid al-Adha are celebrated annually on the 10th, 11th and 12th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth and last month of the lunar Islamic calendar. Eid begins today.

And I'd rather have a nice, "normal" Rick Jones and a bulked up original Abomniation before I'd want A-Bomb. Just sayin'.
Agreed, I don't like A-Bomb. I especially don't like that this is what has become of Rick Jones. If he was going to become a superhero, couldn't he become something unique or new? I think the character deserved something better.

I went out to find Storm/Havok and Vindicator/Box at my local TRU (found Storm/Havok, no Vindicator/Box) and ended up picking up an Uncharted Nathan Drake Chloe Frazer set on sale for $5. I'm mostly a Marvel guy, but liked these two as potential crowd figures. Plus it was on sale. http://www.minimatedatabase.com/pack.php?i=810&n=Uncharted I also found a MAX Stealth Jet (my fourth). http://www.minimatedatabase.com/pack.php?i=859&n=M.A.X.-Tech+Stealth+Jet+(Translucent+Black)
My biggest surprise pleasure was on my way home, though, I hit a not-so-local LCS that I don't normally go to.
I found an Age of Apocalypse Box Set 2 (the one with Apocalypse, Dark Beast, Wolverine and Jean Grey) for $5.99. I almost passed it by because the sale price was on a sticker on the bottom of the box and the box was on the bottom peg. This box was behind a Age of X set on sale for $11.99. I didn't see the sale price on the AOA set until I took the box off the peg to look at the figures, which I almost didn't do because the set didn't really excite me. http://www.minimatedatabase.com/pack.php?i=740&n=Age+Of+Apocalypse+Box+Set+(#2) For that price, however, score!
Realizing that the sale price was hidden, I looked through the other sets again to see if any of them were on sale that I missed. Yup. Found an Iron Man/Arthur on sale for $4.99. http://www.minimatedatabase.com/pack.php?i=845&n=Iron+Man++Arthur

I get sad everytime I read "went to my LCS and got (fill in the blank) minimates". I live in Grand Rapids, MI and I have four possible comic stores I can visit on my lunch hour (and still have time to eat) and NONE of them carry minimates. If I do want comic store wave mates I either have to drive down to Kalamazoo (Fanfare- THE best comic store in Michigan) or buy online.
Have you talked to the staff at them all? I would guess that one would be willing to order them for you especially if that made them your primary store.

Not a great Q&A this time around, was it? I did think the race question was interesting, though. Marvel (and DC, which isn't relevant here) have never had a great minority presence, so you can't really fault DST. Still, I don't think that anyone would argue that two of the biggest omissions from the Marvel Minimates line are the Falcon and Sunfire.....
That was me. [/Fifteen Minutes of Fame] Master of Kung Fu would be a good addition too.

I found some at my LCS in Boston. Bought Wolverine/Brood, Collosus/Rogue. They also had Brood Wolverine/Brood that I passed on. They did not have Longshot/Dazzler. :-(
They were all in a box near the register, like they got their shipment but hadn't put them on the pegs yet. Of course, I wasn't afraid to go through the box on my own.
Strange, Wolverine/Brood was $9.99. Collosus/Rogue was $8.99. Wanted Longshot and Collosus most of all, so slightly happy/slightly disappointed.

Was out looking for TRU 14 (not available in my area yet), but I did find the X-Men First Class four pack and a Spiderman/Jean DeWolfe two-pack (on sale for $4.99). I grabbed both of those.
They also had a Thor Storm Breaker four pack (on sale for $7.99) and J. Jonah Jameson/Shield Agent ($8.99). Passed on those (already had the Thor set).

What defines "best?" Is it best selling? Most wanted? Hulkbuster Iron Man & Archangel would be great to get rereleased but might not be viable as I expect they are more costly to produce than standard figures.
I would love to see Power Man & Iron Fist rereleased. I personally don't think there are enough black characters available (but that's more indicative of Marvel than DST). Plus those two dont require any accessories (although accessories are always appreciated). Hercules & Ares would be a good one. An updated Dr. Octopus. Kraven.
So many wants....

Hey! We should do that thing DC just did!

So, what do people think of Marvel Now! so far?
I really thought Thor was great, and I'm excited to see where it goes. I really liked the new Captain America too. All New X-Men was good I thought. Fantastic Four was interesting but needs to develop a bit more.
Iron Man kind of blows. I wont be picking up more issues until there's a change to the creative team. The new Hulk is good but I don't love the art. Didn't love Deadpool. Thought Uncannny Avengers was predictable and felt kind of forced.
Not a relaunch but Captain Marvel has seemed to have found its stride.
