  1. Hey Luke, are you still working on the flight stand? I was wondering how it was coming along, I've wanted to buy multiple flight stands for years, without having to get multiple packs of unnecessary mates.

Unfortunately I have been having the same molding/casting problems with the flight stand as with everything else. However, due to a large oversupply of Menace/Anti-Venom packs, I will be making that set into some new customs, and selling the gliders and flight stands separately in the store.

    Wow! That would be great!

  2. Thanks for the comments guys! I actually made a flying stand, but I had a lot of trouble casting it, so I pushed it back to Series 2 in March. It will need some modifications still. Besides the casting troubles, I also didn't have the foot pegs high enough, so the mates would fall off easily. I will start reworking it after the holidays are over, and hopefully have some previews pics in late January. :)

  3. I am almost an anti-completist. I only buy what I like, and then I modify the minimates like crazy to suit my tastes and my display, so they have probably lost all of their value.

Yeah, that is pretty much me too. There are very few minimates I haven't modified one way or another.

As for being a completist, I am actually more of a minimalist. I try to have only one version of each character, to save space.

  4. Except there's precedent for "odd" choices on DST's part. Like say making the appeared-in-the-suit-for-a-total-two-issues Stark War Machine as the main release figure, while the Rhodes War Machine everybody was more familiar with was one per case.

This is what we fear will be the case here with 90's Jean / Black Queen Jean. (which does sound like it should be Southern Rock song)

Add to that the odd bias against the Jim Lee Jean Grey costume that has been shown by all companies with a Marvel license, despite being one of her lngest worn, best known costumes. Toy Biz had the Marvel license the longest, even had a line of X-Men figures while Jean was appearing in a Saturday morning X-Men cartoon in that costume. Jean got several figure in that line, but only one in that resembeled the Jim Lee costume, and it was covered in "space armor". Marvel Legends, and it's X-Men side lines, came and went. No Jim Lee Jean. In fact, the only accurate accurate figure that costume has gotten is the recent no necked Marvel Universe figure.

    So yeah, I'm nervous.

Well, for the Tony Stark/Jim Rhodes thing, I feel like DST was continuing to gain profit from the Iron Man movie, with people being more familiar with Tony Stark. However, nobody is more familiar with Black Queen over 90's Jean. Even if worst case scenario occurs, and 90's Jean is the variant... it might not be too late to request for DST to change it. It worked with the First Appearance Angel/X-Factor Angel. I'm just trying to ease your mind. :)

As for the Toybiz 90's Jean... this one was an unreleased 90's Jean that would have been perfect....

It is a shame it was never produced :( Also, the Marvel Universe Jean does look terrible... how does a sculptor forget the neck?

  5. I think we should all have some faith that even if the characters we want aren't in this wave, that they will make it into the TRU waves or in a new wave.

I think we're getting upset over nothing.

    I agree!

While I enjoy a good minimate debate, I'm sure DST has thought this through. There is a reason for the character slots they have chosen. If 90's Jean doesn't make the wave, then she will somewhere soon. They wouldn't release 90's Storm, 90's Rogue, 90's Psylocke, 90's Gambit, 90's Beast, & 90's Cyclops without ever doing a 90's Jean.

  6. i think it would be good to do a wolverine origins boxset much like the ironman hostile takeover i just think it would be a good way to fit in what they forgot in the wolverine wave it should include in order of most wanted (i think)

by all of us here at mmmv

gambit-because he looked pretty cool and could use some pieces from the bambit coming soon so wouldnt need to mold new pieces

final battle deadpool-again would be cool with all the scars and the blades from the hand would look cool using a sort of ryu fist piece also i think it would save a lot of people making a custom to get it

for the third choice i was a little suck beetween

emma frost-a pretty cool character and would look cool but wouldnt know wether to have diamond or normalor find a way to do both by adding an extra pair of arms, extra face on back of head and reversobal chest like the one iron fist had and but a jacket in there to i think she wore a jacket

my second choice for third is

cyclops-now he was cool in the film and good for recreating the chase scene beetween him an d sabretooth, also could be a good chanse to make a new swivel hairpiceand glasses sort of thing

    an finaly

wolverine-no real reason just had to put him in there since y'know it was his film do it in his green tank top as seen in the begining and i think end

now tell me is that not totally awesome if only it was a five pack

I would like a Wolverine Origins boxset. I would go with:

    Gambit

    Weapon XI Deadpool

    Emma Frost (Diamond)

    Scott Summers

If we can escape the 4-rule... I would add in Stryker.

  7. I like Storm, Black Panther, Daredevil, and Moon Knight. I'm not sure about the Hydra Agent, and the Wolverines are okay. I don't think the Wolverines themselves are bad, I'm just a little burnt on the Wolverinepalooza that has happened the last couple of months. The mates themselves look good, though.

  8. But you have a point - I have Spiderman & Blackcat facing off against an army of about a dozen Spider-specific bad guys on my bookshelf, while i have about 15 X-Men with only 6 or so Villains to face off with.

Wow, I never realized how few X-Men Villainmates there are.

Cause I'm bored, I feel like comparing them to Spider-man. Just looking at the characters made from the 616 universe, there is only:

    X-Men Villains:

Magneto, Juggernaut, Sabretooth, Mystique, Dark Phoenix, Apocalypse, White Queen, and I guess Archangel (total: 8)

    Spider-man Villains

Carnage, Chameleon, Venom, Green Goblin, Sandman, Dr. Octopus, Mysterio, Shocker, Kraven, Tarantula, Hobgoblin, Rhino, Hydroman, Scorpion, and Electro. (total: 15)

NOW, let's look at the HEROES....

    X-Men Heroes:

Professor X, Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast, Jean, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Thunderbird (I guess), Rogue, Bishop, Cable, Emma, Havok, Polaris, Shadowcat, Gambit, and Psylocke. (total: 20)

    Spider-Man Heroes:

Spider-Man, Black Cat, Ben Reily, and Spider-Girl (total: 4)

So yeah, I'm sure I'm missing a few. But, it goes to show that Spider-Man villains have been shown a lot of love. For those who request some X-Villains to balance out the team, they have a valid suggestion.

I have to be up in 5 hrs, I should sleep. :(
