Thanks! The Buffy Palz line was great, I wish Palisades Toys would have lasted longer.

I would also love a Dr. Strange crossed legs/levitation cape minimate.  It would make it different from the rest.

I would love an astonishing update.   Especially for Cyclops and Kitty.

I personally like the movie/TV properties like Beetlejuice, Gotham, X-Files, etc.  I'm bummed that Gotham minimates seems to have stopped, the villains have just gotten really interesting on the show. X-Files is a cool property in theory, but understandably after Mulder and Scully, there are not a lot of characters to sustain a license except for the weekly monsters and aliens.

I really hope there is another pack. I mean now we have Solomon Grundy, Scarecrow, Professor Pyg, and a new Ivy (in 2018)! DST can take the 4-packs beyond just civilians in suits and really make them interesting.

Also, I found these at my local TRU and the employees were pretty surprised at how much these look like the actors; Alec and Geena the most. 

The entire series has an excellent likeness to the actors/characters, I was pleasantly surprised. 

Wedding Lydia is series 16 Scarlet Witch torso, Alice in Wonderland Red Queen dress, and the frilly top and veil was made with red translucent sculpy (it looks more see-through in person).

Picked up the TRU sets today. Aside from Tuxedo BJ and Otho, the rest look pretty much the same as the boxset.  Interestingly, at one of the local TRUs, apparently someone stole all the BJ minimates the day they were stocked. Also the Mulder/Scully 2-pack from the new series was on sale for $0.03! The checker rang it twice because he thought it was an error!

It took me about 20 minutes after I got home before I customized a red wedding dress Lydia to go with Tuxedo BJ, it will work as a spot filler until DST releases an official one:

Also, one small nitpick. Betelgeuse was clearly wearing boots with his pants tucked in when in his striped suit.

A little black paint and it is an easy fix.

If DST is going to pull mates from movies, this is the kind of movie I want them to pull from; one with great visuals, lots of colors, and memorable looks.  Less Dark Tower blandness and more Beetlejuice wackiness!  

I agree, Beetlejuice allows for a variety of colorful mates. I hope they do a "waiting room guests" set next.  I want a Shrunken Head Guy and a Miss Argentina.

I have yet to purchase the TRU packs, only the boxset.  While the Maitlands clearly have their stretch-faced heads, I can't tell if the striped Beetlejuice has his carnival gear.

I saw some of the box sets appearing on eBay, I think the official release day is tomorrow though (10/18), so a lot more might be showing up soon. 

Yay! Any ToysRUs sightings yet?! I don't want to miss out on Tuxedo Beetlejuice and Otho.

For the bad guys, we've got Fish (RIP twice), Butch, Falcone, Ivy, Jervis Tetch, Zsasz (who got a figure), Firefly, Jerome, and maybe even a Talon!

Two awesome 4-packs right there! (I would maybe lose Falcone, as they have a lot of minimates in suits).

We also need Azrael, considering he was the main villain of season 2. Additionally, Barnes should be updated to his executioner look.

Maybe we can get a virus-infected Gordon/Lee "together forever" two-pack exclusive?

JRSly, I was also about to start a Beetlejuice custom set right before these were announced. Painting a striped suit seemed like a pain!

I agree, Fox has issues when competing with the other big networks.  They never seem to have it together.

Wow Dave! I admittedly don't know the source of many of those customs, but they seem detailed and well-made. Your Michael Keaton-inspired Batman looks like right out of the movie!

Nice work! The X-Men look nicely updated.  I agree that the puffy jackets hold up well.  Your hair choices are perfect, I especially like Emma's. 

I don't think it helps that FOX put Gotham on a 3 month hiatus right in the middle of a storyline. When it came back I almost forgot what was going on.

As for Gotham mates, I would like to see Jerome, Mad Hatter, Azrael, and an updated Riddler.  Since the show is essentially introducing the Batman villains, it would be a good opportunity for DST to release some characters that could look like their comic counterpart, pleasing both Gotham and comic fans alike.

I think DST did a great job with these. The sculpted stretch-faced heads of the Maitlands are especially well-done (and I'm not usually a fan of sculpted heads).

I remember when I was a kid, Kenner released the movie figures.  They made the striped-suit of Beetlejuice with the carousel head and the tuxedo version had the regular head.  Therefore, both figures had to be purchased in order to make "classic striped-suit Beetlejuice."  It was annoying as a consumer, but smart from a selling standpoint.

I'm hoping for another pack that includes some of the waiting room guests, such as Ms. Argentina, the Shrunken-Head guy, the Smoking Man, and the Witch Doctor.

I'm also a little surprised that Tuxedo Beetlejuice didn't come with Red-Wedding Dressing Lydia.

Overall, I'm definitely looking forward to these. I think DST is excellent with the movie/TV licenses.

Thanks for the nice comments! In my opinion, the Buffy and X-Files PALZ were hit and miss. One thing I respected for both lines is that Palisades seemed to be huge fans of both shows.  A lot of the Buffy PALZ came with cool, alternate looks and very character specific accessories.  I even tried to replicate some of the character likenesses from the PALZ line and incorporate them into my custom collection. The figures themselves were not exactly the best made, often with broken joints right out of the package. However, that happens frequently in early figure lines.

As for posting recipes, that would be EXTREMELY hard... mainly because most of the figures were made back in 2014.  I know Buffy's hair is painted from Lara Croft... after that it gets a little hazy. A lot of the hair pieces and weapons were custom sculpts. I also recently have become nostalgic for Buffy/Angel with the 20-year anniversary.  I started to update some of the figures with better facial decals, thanks to Luke's Toy Store Decal Sticker Paper.  Previously I used a clear decal with a printed face, which lost a lot of the detail. Now that I have a better printer, I was able to match the skin tone to many of the minimates, allowing for a better, more crisp facial likeness.

If you want your own Buffy, here are the decals, all you need is blonde hair, a black upper body, and some appropriate pants:
