  1. If we do get a Daryl they need to cover more ground like box sets and faster waves they need to cover from 1 till at least 75 b4 they release a Daryl

    That's just me

    Love that zombie officer

We won't be getting a Daryl. He isn't a character in the comics, and they don't have the license for the show.

Did get my order in from Luke, all of series 1 (sans the TRU exclusives, of course). Rick is AWESOME!

  2. OHHHHHH MY GOD, what a couple of FANTASTIC pics! I didn't think it was possible, but now I'm even more enthused for these! Got my shipping confirmation yesterday!

Luke, any chance you might carry the TRU wave at all?

Yes we will be ordering a small amount once they are available.

Awesome! Beats driving 100+ miles to my nearest TRU!

  3. If anyone attending would be cool enough to be a "mule" for me and pick me up three items from the Skybound booth (grey, purple, and glow in the dark PVC figures of the Walking Dead Michonne + her zombies) PLEASE PM me.

Total cost would be $55 for the three sets, I'd gladly pay shipping to me, and throw in another $50 for the trouble... plus my undying love, forever.

  4. I've been snapping photos of them left and right to post on my blog.

Words can't say how damn happy I am with them, you did a KILLER job Luke. Crimson Bolt is EASILY my favorite Minimate I have on the shelf now. You really nailed them both.

I'm working on finding the X-Men First Class Sebastian Shaw and cobbling together a Jacques figure to put with them!

  5. I totally love the picture of the Abrams tank & the Minimates...no question about that .

Will the Minimates fit into the tank ?

Without the feet, yes. Both hatches do open on the top, and they'll fit, but the feet are just too big.

Every figure scale I've seen is based on a 6 foot tall human. Star Wars figures are referred to as 3 3/4" scale but they're actually 4" scale. The figure Kenner originally measured (back in the 20th century) was Luke Skywalker, a character who's 5' 8" tall. That would make a 1/18 scale figure of Luke exactly 3 3/4" in height. Han Solo is supposed to be exactly 6 feet tall and his figures tend to be a little taller at around 4".

With Minimates, the bulk of the figure can throw off the scale visually. Mathematically 1/32 scale may be correct but some may prefer going a little larger to compensate for the figure's mass.

This is why I want DST to offer a Winnebago especially for my Walking Dead Minimates. That could make a pretty cool playset/vehicle. And I'm pretty sure it would be inexpensive to license.

I am TOTALLY with you on the Winnebago. It's my most wanted thing from the license.

  6. If 4" figures = 1/18 scale then 2" figures = 1/32 scale.

3 3/4" is technically 1:18, while 2 1/4" is 1:32. Given that the usual scale for 12" dolls/figures is 1:6, and 6" figures are 1:12, I think it's fair to assume the "average" height determined for a human is 6 foot tall. Being that Minimates are right at 2" tall, I think the 1:32 is as close as you can get.

Sure, the blocky look of Minimates can throw things off a bit, but I personally feel like 1:24 is too big, and 1:35 is just a bit too small.

    Here's Rick/Vacation Zombie with a 1:32 tank:

  7. With series 1 just a few days away, and what is basically a first appearance Rick (Sheriff's uniform and all), I bought myself a little something in tribute of the comic, and the TV show for some future photos. These are just some pictures I took screwing around... The tank is the Unimax Forces of Valor 1:32 M1A1 Abrams.

I can't wait until I get Rick and Glenn and I can try and recreate the scene in Atlanta where Glenn says, "it's worse than we thought" in reference to all of the zombies. Heck, I may even try and build up a street diorama.

  8. These were taken really quickly out of sheer excitement. I don't know if anyone here would be interested, but I found these at a Family Dollar. They had Hummers and Tanks for $3.00 each, and have light up features and sounds... I'm planning to gut the minimal electronics out, and remove the decals (I already took the stars off of the doors), and have this totally repainted for me. But yeah, anyway these are damn near PERFECT in both looks and scale for Minimates! Gonna go back and grab a tank tomorrow for The Walking Dead 'Mates.

  9. I'm excited about Rhino and I hope the new Iron Man gets something new like repulsor rays.

Adam that picture you have of vacation zombie makes me consider buying the exclusive :) its so good!

I forgot about Rhino! I've been so focused on Miles the rest of the wave slipped my mind.

And thanks! You should pick the set up! They really did an awesome job on both figures. Don't know if you've checked it out, but I've got more photos and a review written on my blog (just click the picture in my signature) plus my video review is there too. Sorry, I have to entice!

  10. If anyone can find it, I recommend using "Simple Green" cleaning solution to remove the residue left from the tape, comes in a spray bottle.

I just get a paper towel, spray a bit on, and then place the spare head or accessory on the towel, and with my index finger and thumb, rub back and forth for a few seconds on the affected area. Then, I use a dry paper towel.

    Works every time.
