  1. Just checked out the site and have bookmarked it. Looks like a really fun mix of different lines. Especially the 90's ToyBiz figures. Keep up the good work!

Congrats! PM "Fried Cheese... with club sauce" for a prize!THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN CLAIMED

  2. I would've agreed with that a few months ago. I really do understand that a single store, or even district, isn't representative of the whole chain. But lately, what I've seen at my local store, plus a much larger sample of stores I went to in five different states, plus what the majority of people here are saying, plus what many of my toy collecting friends that are spread out across the country are saying... it all seems to point to something more than this being a problem for the minority of collectors.

I just wish that TRU would get it together. From the website to the pegs in stores, it's been kind of lousy the last couple of months. I just want to give my money to DST and get the figures in return. And I completely understand that there has to be a middleman for that process. I just wish the middleman was doing a good job.

  3. I really want to make it to this show for the meet up and because I've never been to C2E2 before. Can anyone give any suggestions as far as hotels that are close to the show and decent? I'll probably be driving so I won't need one close to the airport. Just checking to see if one is better than the other, or any other good info about attending the show. I figure there are some people here that have been enough times to know the inside info.

  4. And just to make sure no one gets the wrong impression, I'm not bagging on DST here. I would think that having awesome figures that aren't getting into the hands of consumers is frustrating to them, even if they couldn't say so. This is strictly about how TRU is screwing up.

  5. Minimates exclusives have pretty much destroyed the fun of going to TRU for me. I went tonight and was greeted with one pack of W3 TWD, about a half peg of SFvT, enough Kirk/Khan packs to choke a donkey, and 5 cases worth of TRU W15.

It has been especially bad since the reset. The reset severely reduced the peg space for all Minimates but really killed the Marvel selection. I recently took a road trip and hit nine TRUs in five different states and they were all an absolute train wreck as far as Minimates are concerned. All of the stores were post-reset.

I remember a discussion not too long ago about if we would be better off or worse off if a different store took over exclusive Minimates. After the last couple of months with TRU, (not even going to add the cluster of an online system they punish people with into the equation), I really can't imagine it being any worse with any other retailer.

  6. I guess I should feel lucky but luck shouldn't even be a factor here. Consumers should be able to walk into a store or order these online without feeling like they're The Chosen One, blessed by the toy gods to receive a special favor.

    Amen.
  7. I was going to say the restriction on heroes for Marvel Zombies may be a blessing in disguise. We got Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Wolverine and Daredevil last time as well as Giant Man, if they could make heroes too I think we'd end up getting most of those guys again before we ever got to Magneto or Red Skull, we get to go straight to new stuff instead of getting the original box set over again.

That's an excellent point. This could be a case of less (choices) being much more (new designs).
