Well, my Kingpin has a backwards thigh cap. Given how often this occurs, I don't see why they can't be made symmetrical and interchangeable on both sides. I don't see where the little cut in the back really helps or hinders anything as it is. Not really worth the effort of exchanging it though. Besides that, its a nice set! (even though I already have that DD multiple times over from the custom case I ordered of the DeWolff wave.)

TRU minimate overload today! Found both wave 13 & Spidey untouched on the pegs!
-
never EVER ASSUME someone will get made eventually.
we are approaching 10 years. 50 waves. for all we know this line is circling the bowl. if you want someone the fucking vote for them. never assume. -Falcon.
What evidence is there that this line might be "circling the bowl"?? NONE! This line is going STRONG! We will continue to get mates for AT LEAST the next 2 years! Supporting characters have a better than average chance of being made when the main characters movie is being released. The next 2 years will bring us a Thor and Captain America sequel. I'm confident we'll see more of their supporting cast, along with more X-Men, Spiderman and Avengers cast in the meantime.
Voting for Winter Soldier, Wrecker, etc is like voting for KANG: DST KNOWS we want them, it WILL happen eventually!
No. You weren't here in 2006, Monkey Crumb. You didn't live through the dark times like some of us did. I will never assume Minimates are doing so good that they "Can't die." I've watched beloved toy lines be canceled, I've seen my all time favorite shows cut down in their prime. And I've watched my #1 collection be pushed right to the brink, and somehow, perhaps only by divine grace, come back to be what it is today. Marvel could literally pull the plug at any moment and that would be the end. Remember how ToyBiz lost their rights to Hasbro? And no one saw it coming?
You assume whatever you want. But for me, Minimates is always 1 wave away from being finished forever.
Yes, I WAS here during 2006. I was just a lurker. I've been collecting since wave 1. I was there for the "dark times". This AINT IT. But then, you're the expert on everything including me, aren't you? You're such a genius that you pull the words "cant die" from the statement I made that minimates will be around for at least the next 2 years. I never said they "can't die". You can assume whatever you want, but don't attribute quotes to me that I never said. Try comprehending what you read before you post next time. Oh, and Marvel can't just "literally pull the plug at any moment", that's not how contracts work. Toy biz was *bought out* by Hasbro, they didn't lose anything to them. Your post is so full of inaccuracies it boggles the mind! Thank you for demonstrating so clearly that you have no idea what you are talking about!
Actually the sequence is this: Toy Biz had the Marvel License. Then Marvel bought Toy Biz, and rebranded it Marvel Toys. Marvel then licensed out their property to Hasbro, while using Marvel Toys to produce the Legendary Comic Heroes (and I believe some wrestiing line using some of the same Marvel molds). The Legendary Comic Heroes line didn't do very well at retail due to obscure characters and stopped at wave 2, despite some awesome toys(Monkeyman & Obrien), with wave 3 only being shown partially at Toy Fair. It was very convoluted and whatever Marvel's original strategy was, it seemed very backwards at the time to me.

Am I the only one who can't get poll#3 to show up on marvel.com, even after refreshing several times? It says 3 is there, but only polls 1 & 2 show up.

Thanks Zach. Just a tad too much hair, but maybe if it were a darker shade I would like it better.
1338917578[/url]' post='230165']Fabio? Is that you with the hammer?
LOL!
Watch out for geese...
Give the Menace hair a try. I think it works well.

I'm really hoping the final Marvel set is NOT Avengers. I mean, c'mon, we just got a bazillion and one Avengers minimates in regular waves, exclusives, box sets and movie line. Do we really want even MORE right now? I love Avengers as much as the next guy, but I really could do with a break from Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Wolvie and everyone in between. I just started reading the new Uncanny series, so I'd personally love more from that team. Danger, Namor, Magik... All in their updated looks. But please, not another Captain America with bigger star and new grimacing face, or battle damaged Iron Man with grimacing face... You get the picture...
-
So no Avengers in the AvX boxset? Guessing there is a complimentary boxset somewhere else featuring only Avengers characters?
I haven't read AvX, but are there any Avengers characters that have new looks that we haven't already gotten in the last few Avengers themed minimates? If not, I'd rather have complimentary X-characters in the new looks.
-
Has anyone tried this head from "Goled Age Captain America" with the new Hawkeye mask? I don't have one, but the bemused expression says Clint to me.
I actually used that one for my Johnny Storm. Somehow seemed appropriate as it's a smirking Chris Evans.

Filmation's Ghostbusters had an ape. Never cared for the cartoon, but I'd take a mm set.

I mentioned this in the chat before, but if Luke Cage is chosen, his appearance in What If #34 clearly needs to be the variant:
Sweet Christmas! That would be an awesome variant!
-
Tough choices. But went with Gladiator and Falcon. Here's hoping for a CLASSIC Falcon variant if he get's made.
-
The top three that would interest me the most:
- Hellboy/BPRD
- Judge Dredd/2000 AD
- Madman
(Throw Monkeyman and O'Brien in there somewhere and I'll be happy. )
-
Some of those haven't been at my TRU for a long, long time. Great haul!

It's difficult to say anything about 'gator prices without hyping the price up even more but all the prices I've seen on ebay I considered to be quite reasonable .
Edit: My comment about the case revolved around "Why don't you keep it rather than sell it?" . The case is great for keeping Minimates in & if you're going to collect the BB line then what better place to keep them !
Honestly, I have 2 of the minimate cases (Pirate & gator) and they really don't hold a candle to the $4 Walmart clear storage cases in the hardware section. They have adjustable slots and I can fit 4-8 minimates plus accessories in each slot if I make a 12-slot configuration, or I can narrow it down to 2-3 per slot when I use a 24-slot config. For $4 it can't be beat. They're great for Joes, most Marvel 4" and other smaller figures as well. The minimate cases, while "pretty", don't hold as many, are a cheaper material, and much larger.
-
Well, Spider-Man, Cap, Thor, Avengers have all had recent waves. X-Men, Daredevil, Hulk & Venom are all part of upcoming stuff. That leaves Iron Man(also represented in the Avengers' waves), and Fantastic Four. Thing had recent minimates, but the rest are due upgrades, possibly in blue/white. Mister Fantastic(new SS arm)/She-Hulk(F4), Thing (F4 tank w/pants & boots)/Johnny(new flame on pieces), Invisible Woman(sleeveless w/4 cutout)/Moloid, variant Sue as Malice/Moloid.
Tru compliment set: Gorgon/Triton, Medusa/crystal... Or Karnak.

As I lied in bed last night... my last post got me to thinking (Yes, I actually fell asleep thinking about minimates, lol)...
In any given case, no matter which one of these figures won... who would make a good variant for that figure?
I mean... since from what I can tell, in this wave/poll, the variant is yet to be determined based on the winners... the suggestion of what it should be is still more or less up for discussion is it not? So why don't we DISCUSS IT! lol...
I'm not saying one of these figures necessarily NEEDS to be the variant... it could easily also be from poll 2 or 3 (and it's probably more likely to be). But these are all we have for the moment... so to get the ball rolling, here's what I came up with...
Wolverine: Team X Sabretooth, I feel would be a good choice. Remember, nothing really says the variant HAS to be the same character. We've seen alt characters as variants before. He's close enough to Wolverine to re-use some parts, but non-essential enough to not sour collectors over being shortpacked. And it's the only way I ever see him being released frankly, and think it would be cool to have him to go alongside a hopefully eventual Wolverine, Maverick and Silver Fox (Maverick seems possible. Silver Fox might take a little praying.)
Iron Man: I think either of the two Iron Men on the poll (btw, who did Tony pay off to make that happen? ) would make a good variant for eachother... might be too big a parts difference though. Though that's not absolutely unheard of with variants. I Dunno.
Hulk: A no-brainer seems to be a green version. Not saying it's the most tantalizing or inspired choice... but it IS a no-brainer, lol...
Ghost Rider: Does this look come in Orange? I feel like I've seen it in Orange. If so, that would be a logical variant. If not, I got nuthin' lol.
For the other characters... I have no ideas really. But feel free to toss'em out there!
I thought it would be fun to discuss. To strategically place ideas in Zach's head now... for when the polls end, and the variant needs to be chosen.
And as I said, we can discuss potential variants from poll 2 and 3 when the time comes.
Well, the last page of Army of Darkness vs Marvel Zombies had Ash running from Marvel Werewolves, so take your pick of any of the other Wolf-Heroes. Plus the 90's X-men toon had the High Evolutionary turn Wolverine into a big Were-Wolverine.
Or preferable - CapWolf/Man-Wolf or Cap-Wolf/Werewolf by Night.
And yes, the Marvel Legends Blue GR has an orange flame variant.
Cyborg Spidey/Deathlok
Hydro IM/Space IM/Space Nick Fury/Space Cable... (taking my cues from Toy Biz of the 90s.)
Grey Savage Hulk/Grey Kirby Hulk
-
Cap Wolf and Grey Hulk. Hoping the Cap Wolf parts will be recycled into a future Man-Wolf or Werewolf by Night. Plus it's so over-the-top 90's I had to vote for it!
-
A web-thwipping Spider-man hand, both with and without a webline attached. A Spider-Man with magnets in his feet would be pretty cool too.
-
Here's a solution Zach. Just make a Night Patrol 2-pack with Linda Blair and the Unknown Comic. Paper Bag head made - everybody happy!

This here's a story about Billy Joe and Bobbie Sue
Two young lovers with nothin' better to do
Than sit around the house, get high, and watch the tube
And here is what happened when they decided to cut loose
They headed down to, ooh, old El Paso
That's where they ran into a great big hassle
Billy Joe shot a man while robbing his castle
Bobbie Sue took the money and run
Billy Mack is a detective down in Texas
You know he knows just exactly what the facts is
He ain't gonna let those two escape justice
He makes his livin' off of the people's taxes
Bobbie Sue, whoa, whoa, she slipped away
Billy Joe caught up to her the very next day
They got the money, hey
You know they got away
They headed down south and they're still running today
Singin' go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Am I the only one that has the Run DMC cover of this song in his head now?

I thought about Fang Wolverine, but I'm holding out hope we'll eventually get to Fang.
And I actually think about the netting-eyes Wolverine (and leather-jacket Patch) a lot, as I still have four pillowcases from my young adulthood that are entirely made up of panels from Marvel #1s -- Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four and X-Force. (Yes, I have Gideon on my bedsheets.) But as I was never a regular Wolverine reader, I wasn't sure how iconic or long-lived that look was. The Wolverine we used is pretty high-profile, surprised we haven't made it. (Cue one of you guessing the exact look. 3... 2...)
Sentinel blasted adamantium skeleton Wolverine? Samurai Wolverine (or is he a ninja), How about bone claws bandana wearing Wolvie?
An updated Days of Future Past is long overdue too.

So down for some Ghost Rider minimates. I would be ok with Super Spikey Thing. One minimate that I'm surprised that we never got with the million of Wolverines is the John Byrn Patch outfit. Not the suit one but the one with the netting over the eyes. I would love that as a mate.
I'm surprised we haven't gotten "fang" wolverine yet, the crazy jungle outfit he had for a while. That one would be a nice change of pace... If they felt the overwhelming need to do another wolverine.

Looks like JJJ is an Angry Birds fan.

Cap-Wolf would get my vote for cheesy 90's fun. Plus I'm sure the parts could get some mileage as Werewolf by Night as well as Man-Wolf.
What's your dream team?

Marvel's New Universe PSI Force. It's not that I have any special place in my heart for the New Universe stuff. But as a kid, I had a subscription to Marvel's Star Wars comic that I got in the mail every month. When that series ended, I started getting PSI Force. It wasn't bad, at least at the time. So a minimate set, including a large PSI Hawk, would be purely for nostalgia sake.
