So how come I can't vote for poll 3 on here? The only option I have is "Delete My Vote"
-
I think the WD Zombies are going to be fine, especially in hordes, but I also really liked the unique over the top designs of the Max line. I really hope the Max line comes out at some point because I think they'll all look great together. Also, one of the first things I thought of after seeing the Max Zombies was taking a spare of that Sheriff one and making a Rick type of survivor. Now I won't have to make one
-
Because my drawing and bio was some how less "real"? Everyone seemed to have very real and valid entries.
Perhaps he meant "real" as in 3-D physical representation?
-
Kinda wish Bruce Willis had the hole in his head so I can add hair for a younger Bruce...oh well, still a Bruce Willis Minimate
-
Maybe it's because I primarily collect GI Joes, but when I first saw the Dragonfly I figured it was slapped together with pre-exsisting parts because they didn't have any of the new parts yet (Which Zach confirmed). I'm assuming many of the LRG guys aren't used to that concept happening in their toylines.
I will say the dragonfly is the lesser of the three I've seen, but I expect the rest of the line will look more like the Gator and Vorin (and be awesome )
-
Congrats guys! I dug a lot of the entries. Thanks for the fun contest Lurch!

You do realize her name is spelt Rogue and not Rouge right?
DOH!
-
When you google Songbird, her first mention is on the third page.
Obscure
While I won't argue that Songbird is obscure, I'll point out that I got to the 8th Google page before I gave up finding Rouge from the X-Men (Even the Rouge character from Sonic the Hedgehog showed up before the mutant did)
-
I'll concede that the GB Theatre Ghost might well be donating its body to science/minimate evolution but where's the 4-winged
torso attachment coming from?
Looks like it might be two different parts. The bottom part being the wing piece that comes with the Theatre Ghost and the top part from something else (Maybe Angel? I dunno)
-
I just started coming up with a recipe for a Mummy Mumm-Ra custom, so if there's a T-Cats set, I hope to see an official mummy Mumm-Ra just so I don't have to make one
-
Digging Vorin a lot, Now I'm hoping we can get a fully painted version of him with the Cape up like the promos have been. As I assumed, Zach said Zik was just tossed together because they didn't have the BB molds ready yet. As it is, I'll be adding some armor to it in hopes that makes it better. Been thinking of adding spare arms from a GB Theater Ghost since those look more insect like.
-
I just can't believe that that Dragonfly 'beast won't have Wasp's (van Dyne's ) wings which I have always thought were superb, these look opaque .
Is it possible that the wings are just painted samples because they didn't have the actual wings in hand? Maybe they could still be translucent?
Should they not make Michone because she hasn't appeared on the show yet?
Michone showed up at the end of last season's finale. I can see both sides though. Honestly I've been trying to not tell my wife about anything that happens in the comic because she's only seen the show and sometimes what happens in the comic does happen in the show. As for spoilers to most people seeing this on Facebook? I think a lot of people who know nothing of the comic will probably just say DST didn't notice the figure was missing a hand when they took the picture
-
Definitely in for the Walking Dead and Battle Beast sets. Zik looks like it could be interesting, I think the thing that bugs me about it is there's no armor. Comes off more like a Gormitti than a Battle Beast.
-
That's cool news! I doubt it'll happen, but if anyone does cancel, I'll take their place.
-
ok...i was worried about winning, now im worried about voting
Tell me about it, I only hope DST makes their Battle Beasts half as cool as some of the entries I've seen here!
-
Kolari "Twig" Kirahvi
Kolari was nicknamed "Twig" by his older brother Breken because he was the smallest in his family. His kind nature and soft spoken voice have reinforced the nickname over the years. However, those who've met "Twig" on the battlefield have found out the hard way that this is one Giraffe who carries a big stick!
-
I really wish I had noticed this contest sooner than yesterday I'll hopefully have an entry ready by the end of the deadline.

- From the artwork we saw, it looks like the Battle Beasts use a lot of sculpted pieces. A lot. If you don't like sculpted figures, these will not be for you. But if you do, you're in for a treat. The designs Zach showed for the scorpion and tarantula are bulky, massive figures. Each comes with four legs thanks to a brand new hip piece. The scorpion comes with a tail and big detailed claws. The rattlesnake comes with a lower coiled snake body that plugs into a standard Minimate torso. I can't wait to see actual figures of the designs.
This just made the Battle Beasts go from an interesting curiousity I'll probably pick up to "Must Have"!

Wow - a very cool collection. Will you be tackling any more doctors?
Thanks! I'm probably not doing any of the previous doctors as I really don't know them as much. The 9th Doctor was my first one. I'm just now going back and checking out some of the earlier series.
I've started on a few other movie customs that aren't quite finished, but I got a John McClaine put together:
Hair - Andre Drazen
Head - Box set 2 Jack Bauer
Torso/Arms - Origins Weapon X Wolverine
Harness - George Mason
Legs/Feet - Undersea Rescue

09/13/2014 Business Suit Doc Ock
As soon as I saw the Deadly Foes set, I knew I wanted to make a Business Suit Octavius. I was originally going to use a Kingpin body, but Luke's bonus stickers made me rethink that idea (also the body looked way too big)
I cut the mechanical arm attachments off of Deadly Foes Doc, painted them silver and glued them to the back of George McFly's jacket.
Hair - Deadly Foes Doc Ock
Face - Luke's Bonus Sticker
Chest - Luke's Bonus Sticker
Jacket - BTTF George McFly

03/23/2014 Aliens Power Loader
Pieced together with Legos, the "hands" rotate, shoulders & elbows are articulated and the rollcage swings up and down. I made articulation in the legs but it didn't really add to the build, so I scrapped it.

This is one group custom I've been very slowly working on for about a year and a half! Not too much that hasn't already been done before, but I don't think I've seen Spock in the Vulcan robe before (I grew up on Star Trek IV so I HAD to make that Spock )

Here's the reason I started collecting Minimates....Dr. Who customs! A friend who's been collecting Minimates for a while now convinced me of how easy it would be to make minimate customs for Dr. Who. I found once I started, I couldn't stop.....this was supposed to just be the 3 Doctors, it's now at 10 figures total! I've tried to make these just parts swaps with no alterations, but I had to paint two hair pieces.9th Doctor & Rose

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in as a casual minimate/Star Trek fan.
I only collect a few minimates (mostly for Doctor Who customs) and I have absolutely no Star Trek minimates.
I'm highly excited about the Enterprise and can't wait to get it!
I would also buy other Star Trek vehicle sets with one or two figures in each set.
-
Haven't thought about any Walking Dead specific customs, but while amassing parts for a bunch of planned customs, I've been putting together a bunch of civilians out of the leftovers to fight the Zombie horde (This is also one of the main reasons I picked up the Law Enforcement set)
I've found 24 & Battlestar Galactica are your friends when making generic civilians
-
Does the doctor look ok without the skirt, like he's just wearing scrubs? A friend picked me up a set at NYCC but I won't see him for another week or so
-
For all you variant hunters out there, it seems there is a new one in regards to the MAX law enforcement minimates from series 2. And no, I'm not talking about the packaging. Check it out after the jump.
Cool, I just picked up the wave 2 set but the blister had been stapled back to the card and I wasn't sure if I was missing a belt and someone had added a non blank chest. Thanx for the review, appears I got a normal wave 2 set (well except for the two right riot arms, but I wanted one of the cops in street uniform anyway )
