Just checked the status of my order from 4 days ago.......I don't even have a shipped email yet. Glad a friend of mine just picked up Mutagen Donnie for me out of town.

It sounds like the Battle Damaged one is the only different Alien

I do not know that we nor individual store managers have a say as to what Minimates they carry. I assume there is an algorithm.
I don't recall the TRU breakdown for Series 3, but the specialty assortment of 3 has two one-per-case figures. Pretty cool ones! One might even fit in with your Mutagen collection... We'll reveal them this weekend!
I'm going to assume based on what Zach said (and where figures were placed in the display pictures) that Spirit Splinter and Ivan Steranko will be the one per case Specialty figures and the other 8 figures could be paired up as TRU two packs
Perhaps there will be one or two others shown that will be exclusive to the specialty wave that won't be one per case?

I still know little about 'Mass Effect' itself...the game/theme... but the Minimates themselves were IMHO superb in most every way , a set of Minimates that makes you proud to be a collector .
If I were (was?) in the position that some of you guys are in I'd,also, absolutely pig-out on them at the clearance prices mentioned.....but this feels like a bloody tragedy to me .
Yeah, I'm in the same boat, know nothing about the game, but for $1 each, I haven't been able to resist buying every one I see......I think I'm over 50 now

The new turtle elbows do seem to move easier. I always felt like I was going to break the series 1 arms

I don't supposed the battle-damage tampo was noticeably different from that of previous xenos.
I didn't really look close enough to tell but I assume it's the same it's been on all the others up to now

The TRU in Winston-Salem, NC had a peg full of the Aliens, but no TMNT. The Aliens themselves appear to be the same we've gotten before (Two regular mouth open aliens (one is called "Screaming" but I didn't notice a difference between the two) A Battle Damaged version and an Attacking Alien with the tongue)

Interestingly it appears all but the Mikey two pack are STILL available on TRU's site I kinda expected the Mutagen Donnie set to be sold out again by now

One per case hurts when it seems most of the stores around me only ever get one case. 2 TRU + at least 2 Minimate collectors (including me) = I hope no one else decides to buy *insert really cool 1 per case figure here* before I can grab one
I only ever saw one Muta Leo and grabbed him as soon as I saw him

Thanks for the words, guys!
I updated the original post with more pics of the different little environments.
While I was putting up this display, I had at least 5 kids come up and tell me how cool it was and the characters. A few of them mentioned wanting some of their own to their parents. One of the moms said they could look at Target for some. I directed them to TRU instead. Since Monday, kids, and parents, have been very enticed by the display.
The kid whom I directed to TRU has come in again each day this week to look at the display; he even told me he had gotten the Avengers movie Black Widow/Iron Man set from TRU. His mom mentioned seeing that DST offers an Enterprise and was hoping to find a Picard as TNG was the best era of Trek. I directed her to Luke's Toy Store for additional mates for her and her son. A new Minimate addict is born!
Shogi, your con is fantastic!
I love that you not only created a new child minimate fan but one of the parents too! That's awesome

Avalanche channeling Kool-Aid Man!
OMG! I NEED a Kool Aid Man Minimate now!
Thanks for the compliments guys!

I got mine the other day, only slightly damaged as the mailman thought it necessary to shove the Deadpools Assemble set on top of the mail instead of placing it at the door step like usual. I like to think Deadpool was jealous of the Aliens popularity
I still have a couple, so i it becomes an obsessive compulsive thing, let me know.
No don't worry about it, it's all good

Its from the Rhino. I used to love those!
That's right! I thought it had the hulk smashing through the wall (I moved the figure to one of the other boxes ages ago and just left the wall parts in a separate box)

BBTS appears to have them together as well

We just got the Rocketeer figures at our TRU's this weekend. I like the figure alright, but it feels like it needs a little more for the price. (I don't know if that's because I remember paying $7 for Marvel Legends or not ) I kinda wish the helmet was a helmet, but then it would probably look too large (Or Cliff's head would be too small)

I'm in the awesome boat on those MOTUSCLES but I'm afraid of how much they'll cost
-
Thanks! Those are the ones that always seem to take forever to do, but they're always fun

Just posted up a review on the full wave 60

This is probably my favorite picture from the whole review

I was happy with just Thundercats sets 1 and 4 (But I mainly just wanted Mumm-Ra figures )
I would LOVELOVELOVE a Dungeons & Dragons cartoon based Minimate set
I would also buy a Turbo Teen set, but I might be the only one who would

I keep hoping we'll get a new split-face Peter in this suit of clothes that he always featured prominently in during Ditko's original run:
Couldn't you just do that by taking the head off the "half and half" Peter and put it on a regular Peter body?
Nope, because we've never gotten Peter in those specific clothes. Also, that old head from way back (fond as I am of it) is a little dated.
You could probably make the body at least. looks like a JJJ suit with the vest painted yellow would probably work out perfect

I like the free floating controls. It makes for much easier posing of the Power Loader's arms and then you can move Ripley's hand close to the middle of the arm and it should look pretty natural. Messing with the Power Loader I made out of Lego's having the Minimate hold the controls attached to the arms was the biggest problem. This looks like a great way around that issue
Gotham Minimates- it's Official!
