  1. Nice Inner Circle, CortherX! That's a great reuse of parts.

I have a photo request -- Could anybody post a photo of 90s Beast with the new Ultimate Wolverine hairpiece? I don't want to have to buy another Wolverine unless the hair is what I'm looking for. I could photoshop it, but I'd like to see the real thing.

    Hail Ivan

  2. Found these today in Dayton, Ohio (Fairfield Mall). They haven't had the last couple waves, but I was driving by on my lunch break and though I'd go ahead and check. They still had multiple sets of these and Valiant. I didn't see any TMNT though.

Vision and Mysterio might be my favorite out of this wave, but they all look amazing. Ronan and Quicksilver look perfect and this Wolverine costume is really growing on me.

  3. Oh the memories..

I got the Daredevil and Hulk packs from wave one as a gift. I immediately went out and got the Spider-man and Ultimate X-Men 5-packs and I've been hooked since the beginning.

I actually tried to give up 'mates for a while, or at least just focus in on who I was buying in an attempt to save money. That caused me to miss out on Kraven, Mysterio, AIM soldier, and some other guys who are now really expensive on eBay. The 90s X-Men caused me to dive back in head first. And lucky for me Mysterio is getting a new release now!

  4. Adventure Time would be hard to resist. Really, I'm all about Marvel my hopes for other licenses were always on getting TMNT minimates, so now that we're actually getting those I'm a happy fanboy (two words that don't often go together).

Can't wait to see the reveals from Toyfair!

  5. Thanks, Rocco and Nerdiest! I'll try to do some more fight scenes soon.

MINI_MYTE, you are killing it with the Sin City and Godzilla stuff lately.

And Nerdiest, I just checked out your store, man. I may have to buy those Ace the Duck wings from you. I actually broke mine as a kid so it would be awesome to have a complete figure again without having to buy a whole new figure.

  6. This is so awesome! I can't wait to add Casey and Splinter to my collection. Keep making TMNT minimates, and I'll keep buying them.

I don't even mind getting the four turtles in each wave. I know it's probably unavoidable, so as long as we get different expressions I'm okay with it. I love the white-out eyes as an option (plus Mikey's happy eyes).

  7. Thanks for all the kind words, guys!

    Fantastic.

    What are the building sets?

They're Mega Bloks from the Spider-Man 3 street series. These are specifically the Spider-Man vs Venom set. I was lucky and found a cheap set on eBay that was missing a few bricks (bloks?)

I went through your whole webpage nate, I enjoy setting up displays like yours and I always love to see others do the same.

Thanks, man! I'm really trying to keep my site interesting. I'll be sharing photos here, too.

Actually, here are a couple more -- the start of a fight between the Heroes for Hire and some quick custom thugs:

  8. I've been away for a while, so I had a bunch of catching up to do. You guys have gotten insanely good at taking photos of your mates. And the animated GIFs are amazing!

    CortherX, your displays look incredible.

Shane, I can't wait to see what you end up making out of that giant wooden mate.

funkguerilla, I'm definitely going to have to try building my own sets now.

Mini_Myte, I saw them on Instagram a while ago, but those Kill BIll photos are insanely good.

Anyway, here are a few photos I took on this rainy Saturday.

  9. Awesome work, Mini_Myte. I think we all appreciate the dedication it takes to pull this off and you do it with flying colors, man. And the puns! I don't even know how you come up with so many. As far as categories go, I think this was the best line up you've had (modified sexiest category and omission of the worst mate). Glad to see Spidey get the first lifetime award and also happy to see the X-Men walk away with best wave.

And also major props to DST - minimates of 2012 were incredible! Looking through the winners it's clear that it was a great year with some truly beautiful block figures.

The biggest shocker to me was that Kang didn't win. I thought he was supposed to be some kind of big deal here on the forums...
