  1. I really liked the tardis sound in the musical montage, i'm glad dr who got in there somewhere

You heard that too? Nobody else in my house did, I thought I was going batty! highfive2.gif

Great job, Britons! Excellent Opening ceremony. I actually got teary-eyed at the lighting of the torch. Great symbolism of all the nations coming together into one whole.

  2. As all Americans know England is in London .

And England is located in Canadia, right next to Ireland in Lake Superior. B)

I'm beginning to suspect that you guys may be pulling our collective leg...dry.gif

  3. I am 100% in agreement, Dinobot. I've been a comics fan long enough to see the trends. Looking back, I wonder how many people bitched and "gave up comics" when Age of Apocalypse happened. Or Amalgam? Or the dozens of other events that Marvel has done to try and boost sales. It's all just storytelling, people. If they did the same stories over and over again, you would complain about that too! This idea of the Marvel U being upset because the Red Skull has finally become a world threat to human and mutantkind sounds awesome to me! It's usually a mutant or cosmic threat that gets everybody to work together.

  4. Thanks Turtle.

I figured the meal worms came from the goo but your post got me thinking...did we not see drops of sweat fall from the scientists into the goo before the meal worms scene? Maybe that "created" the meal worms.Seriously, people in 2089 need to work on their Asimov Laws for robots.

    Concerning the robots...

Potential Spoilers for Prometheus, Alien and Aliens.

This is addressed later in Aliens when Ripley meets Bishop and he states at least two of the laws to her. Apparently the laws hadn't been incorporated into the androids until models later than whatever Ash was.

  5. I rather liked it as well. It's not a prequel to Alien! But it exists in the same universe and we get to see some explanations of things seen in "Alien". It is it's own movie and does NOT lead up to the beginning of Alien. People with criticisms of it in that regard perhaps don't realize that? I have heard people complain that the facts didn't line up right to match the beginning of Alien. That is because the events of this movie don't lead up to the beginning of Alien!

Anyway, it looks great, I enjoyed the acting, the story made me think and I'd watch another!

  6. Bah. I was just perusing the HISS Tank forums and people are hoping they will show up at Family Dollar, but no confirmed reports as of yet.

According to the thread someone in my state asked a manager at Dollar General about them and they have not (yet) made it here. I won't pay Ebay prices for them, but I'd pick up another Cobra Commander or Snake Eyes for 6 bucks.

  7. Makes me wonder if the guy does survive and gets all this work done, will he turn his life around? Will this cause him to rethink the decisions that led him to be homeless? Or will he just be a ward of the state, going from hospital to hospital? With a history of criminal offenses and mental illness, and now this trauma on top of that, I just wonder what this guy's life is going to be like.

  8. A buddy on another board posted this:

"It sure as hell looks to me like the Aliens are actually the Disir, the beings who were cast off to the "spaces in-between" realms. I mean, this image from the comics looks similar to me:

    342px-D%C3%ADsir_%28Earth-616%29.jpg

And also, it would make sense. Loki falls into the area between realms by falling off the Rainbow Bridge, right? So he'd meet them there... ? "

  9. I have a feeling they aren't even going to explain who they are in the movie. They are going to be "an army" or "Loki's army" and not really explained beyond that. I don't think people (the general public) will really care where they came from or even need an explanation.
