  1. I haven't really read much of UA, but I'm curious to see how they work Sunfire into the team in a way that makes any sense. Based on my understanding of his character, there is almost zero chance he would work with that team. He was a rough fit in the original GSX-men, and they weren't a team of government tools.

Remender actually uses an existing plot line from a somewhat recent Apocalype-related X-Men storyline in order to make sense of his inclusion (considering they are delving into Apocalypse-heavy territory in the second arc of UA). Besides that, they allude to his arrogance in wanting to prove he is not just Japan's greatest hero but the world's.

  2. I just wish we'd get beast from the First Class set.

I found that a Cyclops or Angel body from this set with new head, X-Factor Beast's mask, duck feet, and hands works perfectly to fill this void. I even used X-Factor Beast's legs painted black (except for shins) to give him a more accurate look. Since he never really looked overly muscular/beefy in this particular series, I don't mind that he doesn't have a bulked-up chest piece, at all.

  3. Ghost Rider was just up for sale, which is great because I had missed out on that Special Ops. Now, Havok is up for 2 days at 200 command points. It's definitely pricey, but glad the opportunity is there for those of us who missed out-- I had almost all the tasks completed for him but because I was without a computer for the last 3 days of the mission, all that work went down the drain.

Anyway, these sales had me wondering about people's opinion on the matter:

Do these sales make these exclusive characters less "special"? Does anyone feel that it takes away from the amount of work/effort that was put in for those who unlocked the character in the original Special Ops?

  4. Marvel NOW! Avengers (Box 1):

    Thor

    Captain Marvel

    Hawkeye

Hyperion (can sub Sunfire or Havok but the next box set might mean you're then too mutant heavy)

Marvel NOW! Uncanny X-Men (Box 2):

    Cyclops

    Magik

    Emma

    Magneto

    THUMBS UP!

  5. Everybody uses the white Storm, Nobody tempted by the black!

The black was her late 80's look. She had that costume with short white hair maybe for less than a year of the 90's, but predominantly wore it during her time in the Outback.

  6. Look great!

    (Who are Skids & Rusty!? laugh.png )

Holy 80's, Batman! Is this a serious question!?!?

    Rusty

    Skids

They're two of the most influential characters in X-History...

Nah, just kidding, who wouldn't try and forget a character named "Skids". Not great connotations to that name...

Nevertheless, they can be found in this collection:

Cable and the New Mutants Vol 1

part of the advent of X-Force. There were so many changes to the plans/future of this team at the time-- a lot of looks and character shuffling. X-Tinction Agenda was really the last crossover they appeared in with this lineup/costume set.

  7. That makes sense now sorry I grew up in Florida so I need help sometimes. wink.png Maybe you can help me sort this one out. Was thinking of doing an old school Siryn out of a Hope Summers Head, A Star Saphire neck, Phoenix chest, and Loki (from the 4 pack) arms and legs Not sure it will work though. With the hair and the neck piece. Thoughts?

Star Sapphire's neck piece might conflict with the hair piece you use, true. You can get around that with some sanding/cutting, though. I used a Deadman (same as Sapphire's, I think) for my classic Banshee and found I had to sand down the chest/neck line and underneath where the piece rests on the "shoulders" so that it looked a bit more natural, as well. Otherwise, anatomically, it looks a bit off and doesn't line up right.

    these. are. BEAUTIFUL.

Thank you, sir. I'm pretty happy with them, as well smile.png

I love your X-Men and Avengers displays!

I would say Vision, Ms. Marvel, and Black Panther should definitely be in the middle "classic" row and maybe Wonder Man? He would beat She-Hulk in my opinion by a hair in terms of being "iconic" members.

  9. I've avoided modern cartoons like the plague for some time, but out of boredom i put Cartoon Network on the other day. Let me say, Regular Show is genius. Quickly became one of my favorite cartoons, it's a perfect satirical analysis of millenial hipster culture. The writing is pretty snappy, i'm addicted. Most other cartoons on right now are garbage, but Regular Show is so much fun.

I agree 100%! And, I have to say, there was so much hype regarding Adventure Time when it first came out, I completely breezed by it until the same night I discovered Regular Show. Both shows have literally become two of my favorite series on TV right now. Adventure Time is so brilliantly out there and unique, I am totally going to expose my wee ones to it if I ever have 'em.
