  1. Yep. Awesome looking figure, but you won't get many poses out of him. That's the main reason I went and bought the MMS71 Dark Knight Batman again. I had sold the one I had, thinking the DX would be far superior, but the first version poses way better. Kind of a similar knock people have on the new Pred bodies. Look better, but don't pose quite as well.

  2. Based on the looks of the Berzerker, if HT does a "classic" Predator, I'm fairly certain that will satiate my need for the P1 Predator.

While I am all about articulation, pics I've seen of the Berzerker show enough range that I don't feel like it's a glorified statue. I actually prefer the newer Predator body. Would love to see a classic Pred (and even a P2 Predator) on the new body to kick the crap out of my Berzerker and Falconer when they get here. :)

  3. I'm with you on the P2, Shane. I've been wanting that one for a while, but it's kind of the same story as P1. Both are really expensive.

I'm hoping for a "close enough" Predator from Hot Toys. It won't be quite as posable, but it will be visually more appealing. That's kind of what's been keeping me out of panic mode on acquiring the P1. lol I'm holding out hope. :)

  4. Wanted to. Believe me. The problem is that the P1 has been going for much more than the Guardian. I saw a P1 going for $300 over the weekend with just over an hour left and was hoping to get it, but it jumped up over $400 in the last several minutes. With shipping, it would have cost me nearly $100 more than I paid for the Guardian.

The Guardian is no slouch, but if I could have gotten p1 for the same amount I most definitely would have. I'm always checking for new BIN listings on eBay, hoping to find a bargain. Not likely, but you never know.

  5. Yeah, my HT collection is really coming along. I really need a Detolf or two to put my figures in so I can get some pictures posted. Hopefully soon.

As for the P1 and Leo, they are severely overrated, Shane. I don't think you really want those. I'd be happy to remove them from your sight. Just to help you out... like that one time I picked up a Shockini for you. HAHAHAHA!!!!

But seriously, when you get around to selling those two, let me know. Even if you put them on ebay, I'd like to have a shot at the P1, and maybe even Leo. Though I like all the Predator figures Hot Toys has made, P1 is THE Predator I need for my collection.

  6. Definite similarities. Good catch. It would be neat to find out that one did influence the other.

As impressive as Barnes looks, I'm staying away from the Platoon figures. I'm buying so many other HT pieces that my bank account is screaming for mercy. :)

Aaaand, two days later I cave and preorder Barnes. Man, I'm sick. hahahaha!!

  7. Well, my new DX Joker showed up today

    :(

    I have a problem.

Didn't you already have this figure? And didn't you recently sell off a duplicate, or was that your only copy?

You do have a problem, but I can't say much considering that I have two DX Jokers myself. :)

  8. I've got one MJ figure, and that's good enough for me. I'm not overly interested in the Matrix figures, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be super tempted to buy Neo, Morpheus, and Agent Smith.

I also seem to be one of the only toy collectors alive who thinks that the Keaton, Kilmer, and Clooney Batman films were all garbage, so I won't be interested in most of what they could offer there. The only figure I think I would buy would be Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman. Aside from that, my wallet is safe. Christian Bale's Batman is the definitive live action Batman for me.

Now, if we're talking about an Adam West Batman, I'm in. :D

  9. So true. The guy is ridiculous, and if you find yourself on osw any time soon, it's worth checking the couple posts in his feedback thread. He basically admits that if you want to buy from him you'd better pay before the next guy or you're out of luck. :D

Oh, with all the fun I think I forgot to mention I got my Black Widow in the mail. As is the norm, online pics don't do her justice. She does need a boob job, though. I just don't know if I have the courage to attempt it. Given my "skills" I'll most likely leave her as is.

The head sculpt is awesome, and looks sooo much better than it looks in pics. I would have liked sculpted hair, like Abigail Whistler, but looking at how much she has I'm not sure they could have done it properly if they sculpted it. As we already knew would be the case, the suit is very restricting. I can get some decent arm movement, but not much with the legs without feeling like I'm going to mess something up.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with her. She's definitely the hottest action figure I own. :)

  10. Shoot man, you can get nearly any Medicom Marvel character for less than that

On second thought, I guess those are 1/7th scale or so. . .

That, plus all the negative feedback I've seen about extremely fragile bodies pretty much keep me away from anything Medicom. Not that HT is perfect. I've had a few broken knee joints here and there, but the Medicoms seem to fall apart if you look at them too hard.
