  1. Bah, wish I woulda saw this. I rocked the hell outta this con. Filled holes in various collections especially my mates. Unfortunately only 3 vendors had them this year, and the one that usually has a number of bins had one of his trucks stolen a week or two prior and lost 2 of 3 large mate bins. Regardless of all that, it was a great year.

  2. Oh don't take this as an endorsement of the current state of the Hulk... I've quit keeping track of this story until my general disgust at it dies down.

Cloning? Really? This is Doom's solution? Really? And clearly it's worked sooooo well.

Anyway I know I'm addict enough to catch it up later, but I guess this is part of my problem with Red Hulk at present. When he was a villain, the Hulk equivelant of the Reverse Flash, I didn't mind him. But his hero turn is to me driven by two things- Venomesque popularity, and the desire for a more co-operative Hulk. This ticks me off a bit, because it says Marvel editorial would rather tell weird tales of Hulk, King of the Moliods than let him rejoin the Avengers. So instead of the Real Hulk, we get the Red one, who for the most part acts just like the real one; even breaking out the "strongest one there is" tag line on Colossus. It all reenforces the impression he's a substitue Hulk, cause the real one can't play right now.

And don't get me started on the whole "cold blooded killing a man" issue. But I guess I the idea I have a problem with that means I may be officially getting too old for this $#!T.

Don't worry, it's going to get much MUCH lamer to prep for the movie. One of my buddies in the industry filled me in...get ready for 616 to match the movies a little too much.....

  3. STOP QUOTING THOSE PICTURES!!

Once is bad enough, and everyone starts complaining about them, but then they quote them with every complaint, turning it into 10 of the same picture!

Work is the only place where I have time to really visit message boards, and all these pics are gonna get me fired...

Lol! Tenime, if naked pictures of block figures with conveniently placed items over their genitalia (which isn't there) gets you fired, I highly recommend not working there anymore.

  4. Not any huge names, Aaron Gillespie and Fredd Gorham. Gorham is an old school local artist that kind of helps spring board potential artists into comics. Oh and right before I took off Dennis Hopeless hopped on.

  5. When first announced, I figured I'd hate Flash/Venom. I checked it out out of morbid curiosity than anything else. I will confess I enjoyed it quite a lot. It has the benifit of being a completely new take on the Venom idea, and yet you do see in one issue in particular no matter who the host is deep down it's still the Venom we remember. On one side you have the symbiote: hungry for adrenaline, angry at being captured and controled, still fighting it's own predatory nature and it's need for emotional connections. On the other there's Flash, never the brightest bulb, but a good, brave, flawed man, who has never wanted to be anything but a hero in some form. You know when they establish all these means of preventing the symbiote from permenentaly bonding with or controling Flash that they will break down eventually. That before the end it's going to come down to an alien that just wants to put the host in situations that get the host's adrenaline going, and Flash trying to remain on the side of the angles and maintain his sanity, something Brock, Weying, and Gargan failed to do. And it does not disappoint... at least not yet.

I also know this won't last. The day is coming, soon if the book continues to struggle to find a solid audience, that Brock and the Alien are going to reunite. That they will be given a new reason to renew their hatered of Spider-man, and rediscover Spidey's ID. What will happen to Flash at that point is anyone's guess.

Not to disregard what you're saying on the majority of this. However, I will disagree with the need to find audience. The five separate comic shops that I keep in touch with (that are in three different areas) all can not keep any issues in stock.

  6. Brock ended up getting cancer due to prolonged exposure to the symbiote suit. So, he auctioned it off, and a mob boss (Don Fortunato) bought it for his bitch of a son Angelo Fortunato. Well, the symbiote didn't like him so it dropped him to his death in a mid air swing. Then the suit went and found Gargan (Scorpion) and he basically let the suit control him completely. The dude was like a million times more monstrous than Brock ever was, actually went around eating people.

Well, eventually he was caught and turned into a Thunderbolt then a Dark Avenger. After the "Siege" event the government removed the suit from Gargan and made an attempt to militarize it with the former war hero (and leg less) Flash Thompson. Flash basically accepted the duty to get back in the field and also have temporary legs whilst wearing the suit. However, Flash is on a strict time period to wear the suit during missions, if he is in the suit for too long it takes control of his body and basically turns into what we know and love as Venom (like big bulky huge tongued Venom).

Now, where is Brock you say? Eddie is currently Anti-Venom. Apparently, remnants of the symbiote were still in his blood stream and reacted with his white blood cells when Mr. Negative got all negative on him. So, Brock is now cured of cancer and has the ability to basically cure most ailments and can also turn off some superpowers.
