Real quick dude, what model did you get? I know that the 8gig is the better choice (duh), but $100 is $100. I'm thinking that if I do raise the money for one, I might have to settle for the 4gig. neo

Buy the 8GB or nothing if you are. Unlike the nanos, some of the space is taken up by the OS. So it's more like 7.X GB of space available for everything else. A movie alone can take up 1GB+. I got the 8GB for that reason alone. Just a recommendation.

To comment on what everyones been saying about bumps and glitches, a great thing about the iPhone is that all software updates will be free. So when they do work out the glitches....you download the patches or new software fo free.

Anyway. I bought the 8GB model. In for a penny in for a pound. The OS takes up about 799 MB give or take, so it leaves you with 7.27 GB OR on the smaller one: 3.27 GB.

I have one and it's the best thing I have ever purchased. Seriously. I had bugs on the internet browser once, I restarted the phone and it works great now. E-Mail is awesome, Internet is f*cking amazing. It's FULL internet browsing not just text. The iPod function is mind blowing. Kills any blackberry I have ever owned.

I have a MacBook Pro, I have a G5 Tower, I have an iPod and I love them all. iPhone for me was just kinda...perfect.

3G...My thoughts:

at&t spent several million to boost their EDGE network. 3G is between 280-380/400 kbps. After the boost made by at&t, EDGE is reporting upwards of 290kbps. It previously was 40kbps. And another thing, the phone had to be small. You really can't put everything everything in to a phone and expect it to remain the smallest "smart phone" ever made. Jobs admitted this. Besides, EDGE is faster for email than 3G.

My Favorite "function" of the phone isn't any one thing on there. The Fact that it is SO easy to use. That's what I like the best. I know the phone inside and out and I have never read an instruction manual.

Many of you probably don't remember me, I'm an older member of the the community.

The minimate community was a fantastic one to belong to, and I am sad to leave it.

Special thanks to the following members: Cloneme, TBT, Shanester, AdyCarter and Danny/Divebomb (not sure which you go by)

I'm still keeping a few of my favorite mates, but otherwise, I'm selling my entire collection here (sorry for that link ^_^)

I hope you won't remember me as the guy who sold his bombermate, but as an active forum meber

Ladies and Gentlemates. I have an announcement.

Due to a combination of burnout, apathy and general all round exhaustion and tiredness I am, effective immediately passing the MMMV Minimate Of Leadership (Its a real thing, it gets implanted in your chest ala the Autobot Matrix) to Shanester.

Believe it or not, when I gained adminship of AA it was initially just to set the new place up, but one thing led to another and now here we are, my current personal circumstances etc don't afford me the free time they once did, and Shane has been doing a sterling job as admin here for the past few months, so its only natural someone so committed. and with such a long history in the Minimate community takes the reigns.

For those of you who are curious as to my future, I'll still be here, just as a member, financially Im still holding the purse strings and I want to see this place grow and grow, I just won't be involved in the day to day running of the place, instead acting more as a technical consultant when needed.

So, this is my last act as an admin, see all you guys on the boards and congratulations and good luck to Shane and his team!

(oh and please don't start been mean to me now I cant ban you!)

If you check the Registration section of the contest all the prizes are broken down. It seems that every team member gets each Minimate released but only one Silver and one Gold Spider-Man are awarded per team. Hmm, that could test some friendships...

Usually if they don't have a sell-out at SDCC, they take the remainder stock to wwc. BUT, I think they might sell a decent amount in sdcc, so we'll see what's left when they get to chitown.....

I hate stan lee..... Why they wouldn't make a Kirby figure first is beyond me....

The first minimate I ever wanted was the Tower exclusive Silver Surfer.

But the first ones I ever bought were the TRU Spider-Man four-pack. Then I bought the other four-packs and then bought them again at the comic shops as the two-packs.

So I have till the 27th, is it midnight of the 26th? Or midnight of the 27th. just curious cause I have to go out of town and I'm supposed to be back saturday night. Thanks!
