  1. I played the Demo for The Show and it was really good. It's funny, I haven't played a game since the last MVP Baseball game, I want to say 2003 or 2004. Anyway, my main beef with Sim Baseball games is they take SO LONG to play. Right now I'm still enjoying Baseball Superstars 2010 on my iPhone. What I love is that I'm playing superstar mode and all I do is hit. They sim the rest of the batters and all the defensive stuff. I can literally play 4 or 5 games in about 10 minutes and I love it. I really wish XBLA or PSN would release this game as a downloadable game with HD graphics and online play and I would be addicted!
  2. You can purchase anything on the Marketplace with Points, including GamesOnDemand. What you will do is select the game that you and choose "Purchase Game". Then it will pop up with the standard grey confirmation window. From there it will show the price, i.e. $19.99, but then there will be an option at the bottom to "Use MS Points". Once you select that it will change the checkout page to points, i.e. 1600 MSPoints. Simple as that, enjoy! I'm a HUGE fan of GoD, but I still won't spend more than $20 for any of them.....not until they start releasing brand new titles date and day with stores. Until then, I just occasionally pick up some good games at $20 (Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, etc). And I'm still waiting on the better games to drop by $10 before making that purchase......I'm looking at you Fallout 3 . neo
  3. I haven't been part of the Comic talk for a while. Honestly I have stopped reading for a the last few years, but I will say that Marvel's Heroic Age is really getting my excited. I love the Avengers and I'm glad they are the focal point as of right now. So far we have 3 Avengers teams, The Avengers Prime, The New Avengers, and the Secret Avengers. The teams are coming together, so far we know 1 completely and they are slowing giving us more and then there are the Secret ones, lol. Avengers Prime: Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Spider-Woman -I love this team. The big 3 back together with, IMO, the most underrated of the Avengers in Hawkeye and I have loved what Bendis has done with Spider-Woman, so I'm sold on this book! Plus they are fighting Kang right out of the gate, SWEET! New Avengers: Luke Cage, Spider-Man, Wolverine, so far. It will be interesting to follow this book. I loved the first attempt at New Avengers and I thought having Spider-man and Wolverine on the team really added. I'm not sure who the remaining 2 or 3 members will be. I'm thinking maybe Iron Fist and Mrs. Marvel and Dr. Strange?! I'd honestly like to see Herc be part of the team, but I'm not sure he's going to be around much longer, but I wish he would be!! Secret Avengers: This is where it gets fun. We've been given teaser pictures but they are all blacked out characters. If you haven't seen them I'm going to include them: Picture 1 -My Pick is Beast. He is in a jumping pose and it's clear he is a bigger guy. You could argue Vemon, but this is the "Heroic" age. The tag also says he focuses on the "Solution", and that sounds like a scientist! Also, Beast has been an Avenger before a long time ago. Picture 2 -My Pick is Moon Knight. Just from the name "Secret" you would imagine this may be like the "black ops" type of team. With a team like that you need a guy riding the line. Moon Knight is the closest thing that Marvel has to Batman and what major super team doesn't need a Batman. Plus he is rich and full of issues so he will be interesting to read. He is also seeking "Redemption", this just seems too easy. However, it could also be Cloak who is also a Bendis favorite. There is also the slight chance it could be Dr. Strange, but I think he will end up being on the New Avengers so I wouldn't put him here, but it is a possibility. Picture 3 -My Pick is The Scarlet Witch. There are several reasons why and why not. First off, when you think lady Avengers she is almost the first one that always comes to mind. Plus we haven't seen her since House of M. Also, the caption reads "Control" which is something that clearly Wanda has had a hard time with in the recent past. I will say that if #2 turns out to be Cloak than I would swiftly change this to Dagger, you can't have 1 without the other and I do think they are "Secret" as it is so that would be a perfect fit! As a third there is a chance that it's Valkyrie because ever Marvel superteam needs a god, right! Picture 4 -My Pick is Captain Marvel. Marvel has been building up his return and he would be the powerhouse a team like this would need. The caption doesn't help much to lead one way or the other. Other choices could be Captain Brittan to bring some diversity or even Wonder Man, he is a fan favorite by the way! There is also the slight chance he could be a rebuilt Vision. I don't think it's going to happen, but if #3 ends up being Wanda, it could happen. Picture 5 -My Pick is War Machine. This to me is pretty simple. I love War Machine and he is the perfect replacement for an "Iron Man" slot of the team. Marvel has been using him quite a bit lately so they have a future for him plus add in the fact he is a big part of Iron Man 2 and this is probably the easiest for me. Plus he's "Secret"! Picture 6 -My Pick is Steve Rogers. Bucky is taking over the shield but Marvel brought Steve back for a reason and he is a HUGE player in the future of the brand. I wouldn't be suprised if Steven turns into a Nick Fury type of character ala Secret Warriors. Of course I think Steve will be very involved and I could see him doning a costume that is a mix between an Army uniform, the old Cap suit, and a Shield uniform. Here, like with #5 I don't really have a second string. Honestly, who else in the Marvel U can "Lead by Example"!?!?!? Think about it! All in all, I'm really excited about all the new Avengers titles. Avengers Prime seems like Bendis will make it the staple of the Marvel U and the Team. New Avengers appears to be a more upbeat, action packed type focus. And Secret may turn out to be the sleeper hit as a behind the scene, covert, ops type team that will be able to see some really cool missions. Plus, just think of the impact this will have on future Minimates!!!! So, what about you guys, excited for the new Avenger's books? neo
  4. I'm really looking forward to Heavy Rain, but I just can't shell out a full $60 for it right now. I may pick it up in a month or so if I can get enough money, but it will be a MUST BUY when it drops to the $30 range, probably by the holiday. And, just so we understand that math, Nintendo did just announce Mario Galaxy 2 for May and Metroid the Other M for June, both are must buy games, so I have to be cautious! On another note, I'd like to give the iPhone some love. Today is a HUGE App day for anyone that is paying attention. First off, I've been investing most of my time in Plants vs. Zombies (probably the best iPhone game yet) and Assassin's Creed II: Discovery. However, today we see 3 Top Rate releases in the remakes of Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II along with Transformers: Awakening. The first two games probably need little introduction. They are the classic JRPG games that build the Final Fantasy empire. They are updated with fantastic graphics, new content and best of all redesigned controls to take full advantage of the iPhone's touch screen. If you are a JRPG or Final Fantasy fan these are MUST BUY games! And for $8.99 why wouldn't you!! The latter, Transformers: Awakening, has been a hugely plesant suprise. It's a Strategy RPG game. For those that are not familiar, Popular examples of SRPG games are Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics, Advanced Wars, and Disgaea just to name a few. Basically, it's a turn based battle grid where you work to elimiate the bad guys on a map by using your resources and strategy. What's fantastic about the game is that it's based on G1 characters. It has a Cell Shaded art style that makes the bots look like they stepped out of my 1980s memories! You can transform to vehicle mode to move longer distances but in vehicle mode you are vunerable to attacks and can't defend yourself, so there is quite a bit of strategy mixed it. Advanced Wars is my favorite handheld game of all time (starting on the GBA through the DS) and this game plays like Advanced Wars with HUGE robots. It's fantastic. So, there you go, anyone with an iPhone should be on the lookout. These are a few of the best games I've ever played on the platform. They are touch screen based so no shody virtual controls to worry about. They look great and have huge depth. The iPhone is quickly becoming my favorite handheld system of all time. More solid releases like this in the coming months and there will be no question! neo
  5. Well guys, I finally got my PSPGo for my B-Day!! I've downloaded Disgaea 1, Final Fantasy VII, and Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon. So far so good. I LOVE the Go, much more than even I thought I would. I'm still a little disappointed with the lack of support on the PSN, but that will improve. My biggest complaint is Sony's high demands keeping App Store games off the PSN. They launched the PSP Minis, but they are all completely lame. I would easily pay for Plants vs Zombies or Zenonia or Assassin's Creed II: Discover, or N.O.V.A., or even Baseball Superstars 2010. However, we don't get anything close to that quality from their "Mini" line. I hope that changes in the future. In the meantime, I'm enjoying some fun on the PSPGo for now. neo
  6. As on now minimadman, there isn't a date listed. I would probably assume we'd see it around summer. Last year we saw an early release (Wonder Woman in March), Summer release (Green Lantern in July) and then a late release (Public Enemies in September). So, if I was a betting man I'd say June/July, but no later than September/October. neo
  7. First, I LOVE the DC Animated movies so I'm looking forward to this. The last Batman one they did, the Anime one, can't remember the name, I didn't care for as much. It was good, and was nice as an artistic presentation of our hero, but it just didn't feel like The Batman in somuch as something like Phantasim or Return of the Joker or even JLA. So this will be good. I love they are making Nightwing a key player and not just a guest and of course, with the history of Jason Todd it should play interesting on screen. I honestly can't believe that Timm didn't get Conroy in the Cowl again, that should almost ALWAYS be a requirement. Even still, I am really looking forward to this and what we may still see in the future. If they continue to turn the best arcs into movies I may just stop buying comics, lol! neo
  8. Great......now I'm going to have to play the side quests. Thanks!! It could be worse, the game could suck, lol. neo
  9. Thanks for the tip Nestle. I'm kind of a stickler for "playing the original". Hence why I went back and beat Assassin's Creed before getting into ACII and why I'm playing Mass Effect now and why next on my list is BioShock and Uncharted. All the hype around ACII and how much better it was (and is) was great, but I still feel the need to play the first game, espcially in something like AC or ME where you are playing as part of a narrative that is bigger than just the one game! I just became a Spectre in ME and am searching for the Blue bad guys daughter (sorry, I'm still learning the races). Can you give me an idea on about how long the game is? I'm not too interested in a bunch of the side quests and I am really pushing forward so I can get to ME2. neo
  10. Yeah, Bioshock.......still have to play that one either! I don't know what I have been doing the last few years. I've started putting a list together a few months ago and realized that I completely fell off the face of the earth for a while! Here is what I've missed: 2007 -Assassin's Creed (Did beat this in December 09 though, finally) -Bioshock -Mass Effect (Currently Playing) -Uncharted -The Orange Box *My playlist for 2007 was Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and LoZ: Phantom Hourglass 2008 -Metal Gear Solid 4 -Prince of Persia -Fallout 3 *My playlist was Call of Duty WaW, Braid, LEGO Batman, and LittleBigPlanet 2009 -Borderlands -Killzone 2 -Uncharted 2 2010 -Mass Effect 2 -Bioshock 2 *My current playlist is Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed II, Madden10, LoZ: Spirit Tracks, ACII (iPhone). On a side note, I also have Darksiders and The Orange Box waiting, but I'm going to finish ME and ACII first. Then, I'm going to start back on my list and slowly take this games down, one by one. I just can't believe I've missed such good games, maybe I was just broke, I don't remember, lol. neo
  11. Well I spent some time on several games over the weekend. I got a little Madden on in honor of the Super Bowl. But I also cracked open Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed II. I don't normally like to play two deep, story rich games at one time because I like to give my focus to one. However, I formed a plan. I have two 360s at my house, the living room and my bedroom. So, I've turned my bedroom into Mass Effect theater and my living room into Little Italy, . So far I'm really enjoying both games. I have to say that I never liked Knights of the Old Republic last Gen. Honestly it was just a little TOO MUCH for me. Queing up Attacks and watching the action and stuff, it was just a little over my head and I never got into it, even though I love Star Wars. So, I skipped Jade Empire and then Mass Effect when it first came out. But, I have to say I'm glad that I went back to play because I'm really enjoying ME. It's an engaging story so far and I enjoy the dialogue system and really like the combat system much better than KotOR. As for Assassin's Creed II, I can't believe they made the game THAT much better, but they did. I loved AC and just beat it over Christmas in preparation for ACII. So far the quality and polish of that game is amazing! While they curse a little bit too much for my liking, I love the characters (Lucy and Desmond especially) and the combat is some of the best that I've played in an action game. On one side note, I did pick up ACII for my iPhone over the weekend and I have to say it's pretty dang fun. It's a 2D side scroller so I wasn't sure how good it would be but I will say I'm fairly impressed. You can stealth around and hide in carts of Hay for Assassinations as well as climb and wall jumper on every surface. It's got a full story with cut scenes and full voice acting. It's quite good if I do say so myself! neo
  12. Well, I finally beat Assassin's Creed last night. I have to say it was an awesome game that I will revisit in the future. I can't believe that I missed it the first time around. I have several questions but I don't want to leave spoilers here. I don't know that I really understanding the ending with Altair. But I love how the game ended looking forward to II. As for what's next. I have The Orange Box, Mass Effect, Darksiders, and Assassin's Creed II all waiting to be played. I honestly don't know where to start. All 4 are pretty massive games and I don't like to play more than maybe two at a time, but mostly just one at a time. I like to get lost in that world and focus on beating that one game rather than try to juggle several at a time, but that's just me. Anyway, I've never played any Half Life before so I picked up Orange Box on the last Buy 2 Get 1 Free Used Sale at GameStop. I've heard so many good things about Half Life and what it's done for the 1st person story driven games that I really want to experience it. At the same time my Assassin's Creed sense is tingling and I can't wait to get into that world again! However, I think I'm going to invest some time into Mass Effect. Much like Assassin's Creed, I didn't get into Mass Effect when it first came out (I'm not sure what was the matter with me that year, lol). Now, with all the hype around Mass Effect 2 and the great reviews, again much like Assassin's Creed II, I want to get into the world. So I guess I'll play around with Mass Effect for a while and then look to pick up ME2 in the Summer. Anyway, I'll be good and busy and probably won't need to buy any new games in the near future! neo
  13. Well, I joined the PS3 crowd pretty late. I didn't pick my PS3 up until late in the year last year. I've been a huge Xbox fan since the 360 launched (not that that probably suprises anyone) and love the digital distribution of both systems. I've also been a huge advocate for the future of Digital Distribution.....but that's for another thread. Anway, to the point, I got $40 in both MS Points and PSN credit for Christmas. I'm almost out of points on the Xbox picking up Mass Effect DLC, a few Arcade games, some Avatar clothing, etc. However, I haven't spent 1 dime on the PSN. So, am I'm trying to research the best of best on the PSN I thought it may be fun to start up a discussion on what is available and what everyone enjoys. To start off, I'll say that my short list right now includes: -PixelJunk Monster -PixelJunk Shooter -Final Fantasy VII And that's about it. Most of the top selling games they have on the home page I own on the 360 so I guess I'm more drawn to PSN exclusives and things like that. They also don't have hardly any games on demand like LIVE has. So, how do the PS3 owners out there feel about the PSN and what are some of the, maybe, hidden gems or must have titles. Let the discussion begin. neo
  14. Ok, I haven't seen 1 3D movie at the theater every. But my brother is on me about seeing Avatar this weekend in Imax 3D. So, I was thinking about buying my own 3D glasses. Not thinking they would cost a lot, I'd like to have my own pair rather than reused ones or paper throw away ones. Any advice on where to get some and which kind to get? neo
  15. Donster, I'm sorry you are having trouble. ODST didn't take me long at all. We actually beat it the first time in a weekend, and I beat it the 2nd time in one day. If you get to the area of the Beacon just turn on your night vision thing and you will see it highlighted in Yellow. There are several times it's up, so be sure you are looking all around. Your locator thing will tell you when you've left the area of the beacon, I honestly didn't have any trouble with this at all. As for the game, I still LOVE the narative and again in my opinion it is the best of the Halo games. I will agree with Nestle though, the real magic comes in Firefight mode. You have to try that out before giving up on the game! neo
  16. Don't mean to chime in on the Console War, but I guess I need to add my 2 cents. In all honestly, Karamozov is right, it's not "broke". In fact, Nintendo has dominated sales this generation. As much as hardcore gamers want to argue that Nintendo needs to make changes, they are a business and business's are started to make money and no one is better at that then Nintendo. Don't get me wrong, do I want a HUGE HD Mature Legend of Zelda title with downloadable content? Heck yes I do. But most of the times we talk from a fan perspective and not a business perspective. Nintendo is the best there is at what they do and what they do is make money. Shoot, I'm suprised they aren't printing it yet. I'm convinced that Nintendo could market a terd in a box and people would still buy it. People, it's a TERD in a BOX......That's it!! And it will probably be on the charts for multiple weeks. So, as the saying goes, "if it ain't broke don't fix it", and Nintendo knows what they are doing and as long as weak casual gamers continue to spend their money they won't make a change. Which brings me to the fact that I own a Wii as an auxilary system. I own all 3 home consoles and play more than 80% on my Xbox. Right now the only Wii game that I own is New Super Mario Bros. The only games I've owned in the past are Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros., and Mario Kart. I will only now and ever purchases first party games that Nintendo puts them out because no matter what the hardware can do, Nintendo knows how to make software. At the end of the day, even with limited online abilities, last-gen graphics, moronic control schemes, and no HD video or sound capibilities, a Legend of Zelda is still a better title than anything Sony or Microsoft is putting out. So, I close by saying, while I'm not happy with Nintendo right now and think they are really limiting their hardcore market, they are still the best there is in the industry and the pile of money that Reggie sleeps on each night is a great testimony of that! neo
  17. I don't know that it gets any better, it depends on how far you are? It's pretty short I think, maybe 3 or 4 hours. However, it's been my favorite Halo game to date. The story is better than anything the main Halo games has offered. I love the flashbacks and the way everything ties back together. So, I'm kinda biased. Hopefully it will turn around for you! neo
  18. Ok, Sorry to bring up an old topic but I did get a PSPGo for Christmas and was wondering what games I should get. Since it appears that we have a few PSP owers on the board I thought you guys could give me some advice. Right now they only games that I am !00% getting are Little Big Planet and Assassin's Creed: Bloodline. I'm also thinking about getting PixelJunk Monsters pretty heavily. What others would you guys recommend? And remember, I'm talking about PSN games, the GO doesn't play UMDs. neo
  19. You know, now that I think about it I guess you are right. What I was thinking was it was void of many games, just 3 in fact. A normal Christmas over the past few years have been more game heavy. But I did get a DSi and PSPGo, so I guess it was a pretty heavy "video game" Christmas after all! I was wondering if anyone here has been following "Darksiders"? It looks like it may be my sleeper hit of 2010 and it comes out in a few weeks. Anyone else really interested in this game? neo
  20. Didn't have a huge Video game Christmas, but I got a few things. First off I got a new White DSi and Zelda: Spirit Tracks. I also got a White PSPGo and $40 worth of PSN money. I also got $40 MS Points and $30 iTunes credit. So far I've bought Peggle and Pro Basebase 2010 for the iPhone. As for games themselves, I got the first Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed 2, but those should be lasting me for a while. Shoot, I still have two assassinations left in Assassin's Creed before I can even start 2. And don't get me started on Ultimate Alliance 2 that just keeps getting neglected thanks to my addiction to Assassin's Creed. Also, on a side note, I rented King Kong for the Gamerscore and beat that over the holiday. neo
  21. First, Zune Marketplace (Formally Video Marketplace) is great. Great quality at the tips of your finger. I still wish they were a little cheaper. I can get the DVD at RedBox for $1 with the speical features, but again for it being at your fingertips without moving from your sofa is nice and the HD quality is flawless! As for the other Apps, Waypoint, Twitter, Facebook, Netflix, etc. Those are all free for Gold members. Just something you'll want to keep in mind if you use them alot. But, IMO, it's well worth the $50 a year! And finally, for your points questions. I normally ask for points for any and all events. B-Day, Father's Day, Christmas, Tuesday...... And I will just load them up. But, I also have my Credit Card saved on LIVE so if push comes to shove and I need points for something right that minute I'll buy 400 or 800 points on my card. Also, keep you eyes peeled for sales. Last year, I want to say Aprilish, Target ran the 1600 points cards, regularly $20, for $15 each. That's basically buy 3 get 1 free! That was 6400 points and lastest me a while, so just keep your eyes open. neo
  22. I agree with Karamazov, nothing like watching an episode of 24, getting hopped up on Monsters and playing MW2 all night long . However, I am still addicted to Assassin's Creed. I'm on Memory Block 5, 2 more kills left. This game has suprisingly took my off guard and has took over my gaming life. I can't believe I passed on this the first time. Not again, Assassin's Creed is currently sitting under my tree waiting for Friday. 4 days left to beat the first game so I probably won't be playing much else till after Christmas! neo
  23. First off, you need to understand there is a Silver and Gold level of membership. Everyone should be on Live with a Silver Account. The cool thing about Live is the Community that you get to be part of. And even though the Avatars got a lot of flack they are really fun to have and see what your friends have done. But when you are on LIVE you can see what your friends are doing, you can pull up there files and compare games that you have both played. For instance, me and my brother fight each other for GamerScore so anytime we play the same game I can check and see where he is compared to me and that's really cool. You can also start parties and chat online with your friends even if you are all playing different games. Then, there is the marketplace. With a Silver membership you can Rent/Download movies, TV Shows, and Music Videos. Most in SD and HD quality. Nothing like sitting at home on a rainy night and pulling up the Zune Marketplace and renting the newest movies right from your console and watching them instantly! You also have access to the Arcade which I think is personally the most overlooked part of the Xbox Experience. There are some real Gems on the Marketplace that are must play games. Games like Shadow Complex and Castle Crashers and Trials HD are games that need to be part of your library and you can only get them on LIVE. Finally you have the option to download Demos for a lot of upcoming Xbox games so you can try before you buy. Now, you will notice that the main thing missing from the above paragraph is Online Gameplay. That is really what Gold is for. You can do all of the other stuff I've mentioned for free using a Silver Membership. However, if your plan to is play online you will need to upgrade to gold. Gold gives you unlimited online multiplayer, but not just that. It also gives you access to exclusive content including things like Demos that you can only download if you are Gold. Then, you have newer apps like FaceBook, Twitter, LastFM, and Netflix that all require Gold memberships. You can check and update your FaceBook and Twitter right from your Dashboard. LastFM will stream any kind of music you could think of with nice pictures and playlists right to your console. And of course, Netflix lets you stream thousands of movies right to your console and watch them at the click of a button, most times in HD quality. For $50 a year you are getting a HUGE amout of value, it really can't be beat. And at the end of the day it's really about GamePlay and there is not an online community that comes close to the accuracy and quality of what LIVE has to offer. I personally would not own an Xbox if LIVE wasn't a part of it! Hope that helps. neo
  24. Dude, you can sign up with a Silver Account for Free and you can add and communicate with Friends. You can't play online all the time, but they have free weekends and stuff like that at times that you could be part of. neo
  25. To be honest I didn't like that you had 666 in your tag at first, but you are right. You are part of the family! Request sent! neo
