  1. Good Timbo, can't keep a good dog down. Tim, you should look her up, see if she might want to join you for a date out. Maybe you can go white water rafting in a nice inflatable raft . neo
  2. $85 !?!?!?!?!? That is crazy. Crap, I don't even know if I'd spend that much for Oblivion. I could understand you renting, lol. neo
  3. I have to disagree with the "rent" philosophy. This, along with the first LEGO Star Wars are two of the only games that I will never get rid of. This is all opinion, but LEGO SW has definded Star Wars video games to me. Anytime I want to re-live those classic stories I just pop the game in. It's always fun, it's always classic, and it's always flawless. In fact, after watching the Original Trilogy on DVD, it made me get out Revenge of the Sith and watch it again. After watching it, I think pulled out LEGO SW and played through the entire episode III level again. Also, if you want replay, once you unlock the mini-kits they are little minigames that go along with it. Plus, there is something to beating the game at 100%. Of course, like I said before, this is all opinion. My views on games are quite different then the "popular" opinion. However, if there was only 1 game that I could recommend to anyone for a Christmas present this year, even with the Wii coming out, it would be LEGO Star Wars II. It is the best game that I've played all year and one of the best games I've ever owned. But that's just me . neo
  4. There is only one thing I want for Christmas: 'nuff said. neo
  5. You were gone !?!??! Wait......who are you..... Welcome back. Great find, enjoy. neo
  6. Here are some new reviews: (Reviews on a out of 4) = 1 = 1/2 The Batman: Season 2 The Show: I'll say it again, I never watched "The Batman" during it's run on TV, so this was my first time to watch season 2. I bought season 1 and really loved the show, season 2 is a little more of a mixed bag. The show is still pretty solid and the animation is amazing, but I had a few issues with season 2 with things that I thought season 1 did better. The first and foremost is continuity. The first season has a steady progression to a surprising Finale with Clayface. I'm a grown person and I didn't see that one coming (spoiler free). The second season doesn't seem to gel together as much. And, while there were some good parts in the finale, it just didn't live up the shock value of season 1. The other thing was the Joker. Now, we all know that the Bat and the Joke go together like milk and cookies, but I thought he was a little overkill in season 2. He goes from 3 (very practical) appearances in season 1 to 5 (often forced) appearances in season 2. Not to say that "JTV" and "The Laughing Bat" aren't great episodes, I just think there was a little more Joker than needed. I loved the intro to Riddler, although I would have preferred more of a back story and Killer Croc was also really well done. I think they should have shaved the Joker a bit and maybe added a few more new villains. However, it's not bad by any stretch. There are still some really good stories and as always wonderful animation. Very well done! Notable Episodes: -"Riddled": The 1st appearance of the Riddler -"Swamped": The 1st appearance of Killer Croc -"Meltdown": The return of Clayface -"Grundy's Night": Nice Halloween Episode with a nice Twist -"The Laughing Bat": The Batman vs. The Batman.... The DVD: This is a recent show so it transfers flawlessly. It's crystal clear and one of the best animated shows that I've seen in a while. It looks great and the DVD shows that. The Menus are a bit bland with no animation, but overall it's very nicely done. The Extras: I know, this is a "Kids Show", but it's Batman. Batman is a cultural icon and is loved by children of all ages. However, they refuse to offer any substantial features. The only "feature" offered it a "Season 2 Preview". It runs, roughly, 5 minutes. It's basically a collection of season 1 scenes to bring you up to speed and then a series of quick shots from season 2. It would be nice for someone that didn't watch season 1 to bring them up to speed, but for anyone else it's pretty pointless. There is also a small collection of Trailers for other WB shows. Again, I know it's a kid's show, but even Justice League and Superman: TAS and Batman: TAS offer commentary tracks and at least one small featurette. Another week release in the features department. Overall (not an average): Recommendation: Buy The Wild The Movie: Wow, I was actually pretty excited for this movie. I love CGI movies and I love Disney so it was really a no brainier...right? WRONG, this is actually not a very good movie. It came out much later than Madagascar so it had some big shoes to fill. I think in the end this film fails to find it's place between comedy and reality. Disney takes a realistic view of the animal kingdom as opposed to the cell-shaded comical view of Madagascar, so right away you think it's going to be based more in reality. You then watch as these animals are riding around in a garbage truck in downtown New York and no one notices them. In fact, there is very little interaction with humans of any kind, once at the beginning in the zoo and the other by scaring the Garbage truck driver with a snake. Then, the lion learns to drive a tug boat which does all the way to Africa. Then, to top the cake, at the end of the movie the lion wins by roaring. You heard me right, he roars and wins. Overall this is just not a very good movie, IMO. The humor is lame and often forced, the plot has more holes than a piece of swiss cheese, and the only character worth remembering is the Koala bear. This might not have been as bad if Madagascar wasn't a movie, but in reality it's just a generic copy of a much better movie (which surprises me with Disney). The best example I could give of how bad a copy it is, if you could imagine Disney making a realistic looking movie with a large green "troll" who takes part if lame fairy tales and has a supporting cast that equals the talent of the women on "The View", if you can picture that than you might get an idea of why "The Wild" went wrong. The DVD: This is something that Disney is good at. Their DVDs are always very crisp and colorful. There is no difference here. The DVD looks really great. Sharp picture, vivid colors, and sweet audio. The Menus are animated and nice to look at as well. Also, the DVD features Disney's "Fast Pass" where you can skip directly to the movie and features. It's a nice addition to the Disney DVD family. So, it looks good, but you are not going to want to "look" at it often. The Extras: There are a few music videos and two small features that run around 4 minutes a piece. There are also the standard Disney Trailers. Overall they are OK for a single disc release, but it really comes back down to why would you care about features for a mediocre film? The answer to that question is, you won't. Overall (not an average): Recommendation: Rent or Buy Madagascar neo
  7. Awesome!! I know that TT is working on a new Bionicle game that looks really, really good. http://www.bionicleheroes.com/ It LEGO Star Wars is any indication, Bionicle Heroes is going to be sweet. It looks to have a more "grown up" feel to it. So, with Batman coming out (per Deadpool), I was thinking about what else I'd like to see. Here are some other ideas I have for LEGO games (by TT of course): LEGO Harry Potter -This game would be much like what LEGO Star Wars is. You can play as Harry or Friends of you can create your own Wizard. It would be more a game of exploration and puzzles (rather than action like SW), although you will get to light up some enemies with various magic attacks. LEGO Knights Kingdom -Imagine if you will, Zelda covered in LEGOs. That would be the skeleton of the game. You would choose to create Knight by choosing his/her appearance, equipment, house, and symbol. You would then enter into a world that is missing it's King. Your job is to get him back. There would be a world overmap with small town sections and dungeons. You would level up and gain new attacks. You could also enter events like jousts, arena battles, etc. Buy and upgrade your armour and weapons as well as attacks and possessions. It would play as a Adventure type of game much like Zelda: OoT LEGO City -Think Grand Theft LEGO. I used to have a PC game called, "LEGO Island" (I think that was what it was called). Anyway, you pretty much had this little island and you were a pizza delivery guy and you had to help stop a thief. The cool part was, it was sort of a Sandbox game and you could go the beach and build a jetski or ride around in a police jeep or stuff like that. I would like to take that same idea and multiply it. Imagine a HUGE Sandbox LEGO city. You choose (or create) your own LEGO character. It wouldn't really matter what the story is, since it's a sandbox game. You can drive anything, including boats, planes, and helicopters. One cool feature could be if you are driving a car there could be hidden places with bricks laying around. If you find them you can get out and press B (like is LEGO SW) and "build" upgrades to your car. It wouldn't need to be violent, more like Simpsons Hit and Run more than GTA. You could kick and punch, but no guns. You could use things like slingshots and axes and stuff like that. Anyway, there would just be so much potential for a game like that, I'd be first in line to buy it. OK, enough of that. I just with they's make more LEGO games......sorry, GOOD LEGO games. neo
  8. Are you sure ?!?! I hadn't heard that. If that's true though I might even be MORE excited about that. I love Star Wars, but Batman is the best. I'd be more than happy to invest in any LEGO game made as well as the LEGO Star Wars games. neo
  9. Well, as you can tell from my name, I love the LEGOs and Star Wars so it's a Win/Win. Plus, it's just a dang fun game to play. Now, if they released a Minimate Marvel or DC game, I would probably wet myself with excitement . neo
  10. You know, that's sad to hear. Even as......strange.......as this license is I would have still picked up each one. However I never have and I never will buy something mail-away. It's just not my style. Sad really, I guess I'll just have to keep my eyes on ebay or something. neo
  11. Well, where do I start. First to the Wii price point. I agree that the $250 (or whatever it is in Euro) is a little bit on the high side. Especially only coming with 1 remote and nunchuck. However, looking at that beside a $600 Playstation is going to be a nice view. The market dictates the price and as much as I think the console should be $200 with 2 remotes, I will not grumble one bit picking up my Wii on November 19th. However, for those more casual Nintendo fans (I'm lookin at you Ady) the good thing about Nintendo is the price will always drop. I'm sure within a year we will see the first price drop along with new system colors. On the subject of Downloading/Updating the 360, Don my man, believe the hype. It's so simple, I trained my dog to do it. Although she can't put the disc into the tray (I'm afraid she will scratch it), she has learned to push the "OK" button on the media remote. She only presses it twice, and then I'm up and playing. OK, that story isn't exactly true, but the rumors are true. You simply put in Halo 2, a side tab pops up that tells you that you need to update. You can choose "Yes, Updated Now" or "No, Cancel Update". Once you press "OK" (on the media remote) or "A" on the controller the download begins. Once it's finished, then the game begins. If you can do that dude, you call me and I'll personally fly to your house and do it for you . On the subject of LEGO: Star Wars II, I cannot express my deep LOVE for this game. It's just fun. It's not innovative, it's not graphically powerful, it's not overly difficult, but I cannot stop myself from playing. I was playing until 11pm last night. I was on the final level (the Death Star II) and I was trying to outrun the explosion and my 360 froze. Ticked me off, but I was too tired to keep playing. So, I'll finish the story mode tonight when I get home. And I'm only 60% done, there is still a bunch of stuff to do, which I love. Plus, my wife loves the game. It's actually the ONLY game (besides hextic which is one play) that my wife likes to play. Seriously, if you haven't bought this game yet, Shame on you, go get it! Lastly, on the subject of Mags or Sites to check out. There are a few sites and a few mags that I swear by. The most comprehensive and trusted site that I've found is ign.com. I know there are a lot of bad things said about the site, but I've always found it informative and up to day. I also like advanced media network (wii.advancedmn.com). As far as magazines go, I have a sub to Nintendo Power (what can I say, I'm a fan boy) and a sub to Game Informer. I also really like EGM, they seem to say on top of things too. HOWEVER, all of that being said, I agree with Ady about reviews. Don't trust anyone else, because we are all different. All you have to do is read a couple of pages into this thread. If you were to ask me what games should you buy for the 360, I would say Oblivion, Madden 07, and LEGO Star Wars. Where other might recommend Dead Rising, Saint's Row, or Kameo - all of which I've played and wouldn't recommend to a prison inmate. So, reviews need to be taken with a grain salt. Personally, what I look for in reviews are the technical notes. Such as Graphics, Framerate, Sound, Multiplayer, Online, etc. However, when it comes to gameplay and control I leave that up to my fingers . Whoa, I wrote way to much. neo
  12. HaHa, I'm a moron. After I worked on updating my signature, I was messing around with my FreeWeb site and, like an idiot, I deleted the remote pic that I just posted. So, now that we are all done exposing my stupidity, the sig is corrected . neo
  13. Quick question guys. Since the Wii is now official, I want to change my Signature to a Wii Related Civil War banner. I am stuck on three, so I figured I'd see what you guys think. Here they are: Offical Box Art Banner: Style Console Picture Banner: Wii Remote Banner: Please let me know what you guys think. I really like the Remote picture, but the Office Box Art is also nice, however I love the Blue Highlights on the Style pic. So, I'm really torn. What doyou guys think? neo
  14. Nestle, I didn't mention bridge.....but that sounds fun Smash Bros. Brawl has only been confirmed as "sometime next year." If I were a betting man I would put my money on Holiday Season (Nov) of next year complete with online play. Why? Allow me to support my theory. Nintendo is going to have, at least, 5 huge first party games for next year. They are PokeMon Battle Revolution, Metroid Prime 3, WarrioWare, Mario Galaxy, and Smash Bros. Those are all well established franchies and will fly off the shelf. We know that PokeMon Battle Rev will be released in December in Japan, so we can probably expect that before the end of Feb in the US. You've seen that WarrioWare is well on it's way to being finished so it will be out, probably, 1st quarter too. Then, I see Ninteno releasing Mario and Metroid in the Summer next year, because Summer is always slow. Both games are well on their way and I believe we will see Metroid First (possibly April/May). That leaves Smash Bros. Now, November has always been a BIG time for Nintendo. 2 years ago the DS was launched. Last year the WiFi was launched. This year the Wii is coming out. I would put my faith in the fact that Smash Bros will come, WiFi ready, packed to the brim with 3rd party characters (Bomberman, Sonic, Megaman, etc) and it will be released the end of November. Plus, at E3 when the game was mentioned they said that it "probably wouldn't" support online and the fans reacted to that. I think, just like they did with Metroid Prime:Hunters, Nintendo will re-work Smash Bros and release it Online. It would be a huge step back if they didn't. But again, that's just my "theory", take it as that. Oh yeah, Lurch, why don't you give me a run down of GameCube games that you own. Since the Wii is backward compatable I may be interested in a few. neo
  15. Bravo Fujis. I would have never guessed that by episode, and I even consider myself a fan . Well done. neo
  16. It is rumored to be £149 in Europe, however Ninteno is not holding their "official" press in Europe until tomorrow. But, I'd stay that £149 is a safe bet. I also know your pain about the Cube Ady. I was in line day one and watched month after month as my sweet little cube lost more and more steam. Although the Cube had some classics games, it was just the red-headed step-child of the last gen. However, and I said this with confidence, that WILL NOT happen again. The Wii will be the best system of this Generation and I believe will go on to be #1 again. neo
  17. Well, Ady, you just enjoy yourself over there with all your fancy graphics and re-used gameplay. The Wii is a revolution, and as Nintendo stated, "its not 'Next', it's 'new'." There is just so much potential I can't stand it. I'm half tempted to trade in my 360 for more Wii games. The only thing that's stopping me right now is the fact that I can stream music, pictures, and videos to my 360. Man, too bad Nintendo isn't offering that... One quick update, NOA has confirmed that there will be NO DVD playback for the Wii. neo
  18. Well guys, it's official, the Wii is coming. I've never, EVER, been more psyched about a Console release and I was one of the few who got an N64. The Wii is going to be so awesome. Here are the highlights for those interested: Release Date: November 19th Price (system): $249.99 (bundled with Wii Sports) Price (software): $49.99 Price (remote): $39.99 Price (nunchuk): $19.99 Launch Game #s: 30 to be released by the end of the year, More than half at launch. Notable Features: -Wiiconnect24 where you console will be always connected to the internet (pending that you have internet connection...) -Virtual Console will have 3 games at launch (Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and Legend of Zelda). Games range from 300WiiPoints ($5) for NES, 500WiiPoints ($8) for SNES, and 1,000WiiPoints ($10) for N64 games. -Wii Channel is the new feature, in which the system's set up is "Channel" oriented. You have a basic chanel for your disc drive (to play games) as well as one for the Vitual console. There are also channels for Weather which is updated continually, Opera browser in which you can surf the web at no extra cost, Photo where you can view and edit photos from an SD memory card, News like the weather that is continually updated, and, finally, the Mii Chanel in which you can create and customize a number of Wii Avatars. -On the subject of the Wii Avatars. The Avatars can be used in Wii Sports for your player. They can also be downloaded into the memory of the Wii Remote and taken to a friends house so you can use your Avatar on your friend's Wii Sports game. -There are also Wii Mail and Wii Message Board functions, although those haven't really been touched on much. Other Notes: -Metroid Prime 3 has been confimed to be a "2007 Game." -Nintendo will launch 3 first party titles with the Wii, the first is Wii Sports which is included, second is Excitruck, and lastly is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. -The first confimed "Online" game will be Pokemon Battle Revolution which will release during the Japanesse launch window and will be available here "shortly after." Well, I guess that's enough of an overload for now. I hope you guys are as excited about this as I am. Maybe not, and that's fine. I'll keep you guys posted (for those who care) the more I find out. neo
  19. Well, I went ahead and changed my Avatar and Signature. I'm getting ready for the oncoming Revolution in video games. The DS has proven itself and in just a few months the Wii will do the same. Long Live Nintendo! neo
  20. Thanks for the review Lurch. That is good advice, however I am still happy that I made the purchase. The Original Versions of the film alone were worth the price of admission. I would only recommend these discs to large fans, and I'm not talking size , of the show. On another note, I couldn't "The Batman: Season Two" or "Teen Titans: Season Two" yesterday at Target. So, today I went to Best Buy to see what I could find. I'm not a real big Best Buy fan, but when you want something bad enough you'll look anywhere. Anyway, they had both sets in stock and I picked them up. I am one of those people that don't really watch TV, I just wait for it to come out on DVD. So, I've never watched anything but Season One of these two shows (own them on DVD) and I have to say that I'm really impressed with both of them. Now, it's not Justice League or Batman: TAS I understand that, but I think it's pretty good. I can't wait to get home and start watching these tonight. I think I'll tackle "The Batman" first. I went "Teen Titans" first last time . neo
  21. Well, good news and bad. Good News: is I just picked up my Star Wars DVDs from Target and they were already marked down to $16.99 which is a really good price. Bad News: There are NO SPECIAL FEATURES. Ok, let me take a step back......maybe everyone else knew that and I'm a big loser. But I knew they were 2 discs sets and expected something. What we get? Disc One: Movie with new Commentary. Disc Two: Theatrical Release and Xbox Demo for LEGO: Star Wars II. That's it. Nothing, no bloopers, no documentaries, no interviews, no nothin'. I cannot say how disappointed I was when I realized this. In the end, I still bought them. I'm a Star Wars fan, and it's the completion of the set. It includes the Originals and the Special Editions so they are worth the money. I just really feel like Lucas missed the boat by not added at least one or two bonus features. It's just sad to watch Episode III on DVD with a 2nd disc smacked full of great stuff and then watch Episode IV with nothing. Oh well, enjoy. On a side note, I also picked up Smallville Season 5 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2005) season 4. However, I did not come across "The Batman: Season 2" or "Teen Titans: Season2". And there was a real jerk in the electronic section who wouldn't even look in the back to see if there was anything else. He said, "Uh, if it isn't on the floor, we don't have it." I told him, when the first seasons came out there was a lady working here and the same thing happened. She walked to the back for me and within 5 minutes I walked outta here with both Seasons 1's. He then says, "Yeah, we don't do that..." I was like, "you are an idiot." So, I went to customer service, bought my DVDs and told him they need to hire someone new for Electronics. Someone who is actually worried about the customer. Then I left . neo
  22. Yeah, Best Buy as limited Art too and Circuit City has small poster for each movie. Personally, I'm going to pick mine up at Target on lunch (which is 3 minutes away ). I am going there because it's right across the street from where I work, plus they are good about always having the cartoon DVDs (The Batman and Teen Titans are also out today) and on top of that I have a $5 gift card I got from buying LOST: Season 2. So, to answer you question, I'm getting mine at Target. neo
  23. Yeah, I have to admit that the Xbox 360 is one of the most userfriendly techs that I've ever owned. It's bacically a computer, but not anywhere near as complicated. Even my wife is a pro at browsing pictures and music from the PC. Just to reassure you though, I had a few minutes this morning to turn on the 360. They released a roster update for Madden. It downloaded in a matter of minutes and with in 5 minutes I was browsing my all new rosters and I didn't have to do anything but cloose to download. It's really that easy. neo
  24. Sweet Action. I picked up LEGO: Star Wars II yesterday for the DS and 360 (check my gamertag if you want). I've only played through the first couple of levels, but I actually forgot just how much fun LEGO: Star Wars was. This is better in EVERY way and looks wonderful in HD. I haven't played around much with the DS version, but it's basically the same game just scaled down. Anyway, give me a few days and I'll get a full review up (for those who care). I can say with confidence though, I would recommend this game to anyone, especially Star Wars and LEGO fans . If you have any questions I'll try to answer what I can about either of the versions. neo
  25. Alright guys, it's Original Star Wars Eve. Tomorrow, the original versions (and special edition versions) of Star Wars Episodes IV - VI will drop. They are looking really good, all three released alone with 2-disc treatments. Honestly, I could kick myself for wasting time picked up the Trilogy last year, because it fails to even compare the editions that are coming tomorrow. This will actually be a completion to the Star Wars Saga. So, who's gonna be in line?? Kidding, but if this were 5 years ago I would be. However, one wife and one child later, I'll just settle for picking them up tomorrow after work. I can't wait, a couple of my buddies are coming over Saturday afternoon and we are watching all three films Back to Back to Back. May the force be with you all. neo
