  1. Man, I haven't heard good things about Force Unleashed at all. The Demo was mediocre at best, but I think I'll pass on this one. I've added it to my Gamefly Q so I'll try it out and see if I like it, but I'm not holding much hope.
  2. I will have to say, Rock Bands model is the one to follow. Being able to import your RB1 songs into RB2 plus all the online stuff is amazing and worth the price of admission. When you can invest in a game with the trust that you are making a long time investment, it's just smart business. HOWEVER, the Guitar Hero Guitar is better..........it's just BETTER. End of story. So, pick up Rock Band and then buy a Wireless GH: WT Guitar and it's all good. That's one cool thing about Microsoft, all Wireless controllers (and the like) are the same so they can all be used with any game. Gotta love that!
  3. This DVD came out while I was on vacation. I pre-ordered it and it was waiting at home, but I just hadn't had the time to watch it. Until last night. I popped it in and I really liked it. I'm a big animation fan and I've been a big fan of the Marvel Movies (Ultimates, Iron Man, Dr Strange) and this is no different. I like the change of pace. We've seen both Ultimate Movies and we've done the large battle, alien invasion thing. This was a breath of fresh air. I do love how they tied everything together. It was a kiddie story that was accessable to a younger audience, but so is the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. So just because it's made for a younger audience doesn't mean it has to be bad. I loved Starks part in the whole thing and I love the heritage of the Avengers being a part. There were some things that I didn't like, main the Torrun/Thor angle. But for the most part I thought it was great! As for Azari, you see the Black Panter holding a hand that leads you to believe it's Storm, plus he is not only agile, but has lightning abilities. So, to think the Panter/Storm parents were in mind would be far fetched. That being said, there may have been some kind of contractual issues of using the X-Men's name. Who knows with all the bull crap in holiwood today. It would have probably cost them several thousand dollars just to show or mention Storm. So, while I think it's implied, it's never revealed! As for the future, the Hulk Vs. movies look spectacual and I don't even like Hulk. Both trailers (Hulk Vs Wolverine and Hulk Vs Thor) are on the DVD and both looking amazing. I can't wait. And, beyond that, I have several ideas: "X-Men: Age of Apocalypse" - Alternate X-Men Reality where Magneto leads the team. "X-Men: X-Babies" - In a would who hate and fears........to change them. "Daredevil: Kingpin" - Witness the greatest fight of Daredevil's life.....and maybe his last! "Spider-Man: Black" - See the black suits true origin and the birth of Spidey's greatest foe. "Marvel Zombies" - What happens to our world when the defenders become the hunters! "The Death of Captain America" - When a hero falls, we find that Captain America is more than 1 man! And finally, I'd like to see a Marvel Avengers Trilogy: "The Mighty Avengers" - See the Avengers fall and Reborn! "Avengers: Civil War" - With the superheroes forced to take sides, is there really a winner? "Avengers: Secret Invasion" - In the wake of destruction the heroes have caused, a real threat finally appears! Anyway, pick up Next Avengers, if for no other reason, you are supporting the future of these great movies. I personally hope Marvel never stops making detailed Fanboy animated comic movies. I love them! neo
  4. Oh yeah, Force Unleashed. Will Viva and LEGO Batman and October, I completely forgot about that one. I played the Demo and it was decent. Probably more of a GameFly for me. I'm still looking for a Star Wars games that marries the Action Gameplay of Jedi Academy with the Depth and Customization of Knights of the Old Republic. However, there is a LOT of hope for the KotR 3, which is rumored to be an MMO. That may be amazing! neo
  5. Yeah, October is going to be CRAZY! I can't believe that Fable 2 and Fallout 3 are coming out in the same month. I'm not going to sleep until 2009! Not to mention beating LEGO Batman, getting all my Pinatas, and finishing my 2008 Franchise on Madden. Good time to be a gamer, bad time to be an adult with a job . neo
  6. Dude, I said I rest my case, I'm done talking about this crap. If you look at the Billboard Top 100 or Yahoo Music Top 100 you will see that the best selling songs, most played songs, and most downloaded songs are most songs that are not featured on either game. That tells me that the audience for "MUSIC" is much boarder than Rock. As for my playlist, it doesn't matter what I pick or want to play. You've completely missed the point I've tried to make. At the end of the day if I want to play Crazy by Patsy Cline then I should be able to. You don't have to like it. You don't have to think it's a "fast enough" song. You don't have to play it! I'm talking about preference, and that any game that would not limit themselves to one genre would be sucessful. Period! You can't tell me that a game set up like a Console Version of iTunes would not dominate the charts. It would offer music of any kind to an audience of any kind. I'm not trying to say take the ROCK out of Rock Band, I'm just saying add more for people that don't want to play/listen to rock. It's that simple. Now, I'm done discussing this. Viva Pinata and LEGO Batman will more than fill my gaming needs for the month! neo
  7. Yes, I would really like to see a "Spoons" Hero and "Bottle Top" Hero. However, College Dorms across this country would go CRAZY for "Bean" Hero..........because we all know that beans are the most Musical Fruit . neo
  8. Truthfully, yes I do! I'm not saying include it on the disc, but by opening your library to things outside of "rock" is a recipe for success. There are people, more people than you choose to acknowledge, like myself who will not buy the game because we are not fans of rock music. However, give that same person the opportunity to play songs that they love, and they become owners. It's just business. I'll give you a perfect example and then rest my case. The Dark Knight is now the 2nd best selling movie of all time. Ask Yourself, do you really believe Dark Knight would have sold as well if it were rated R? Sure, it may have been a more true version of Batman, and I would have LOVED to see the Joker let go a little under an "R" rating. But, the studio choose to make the movie accessable to a wider audience and because of that, not only is it the 2nd best selling movie of all time, but it is in most oscar talks. All I'm saying is that if you open your product up to a wider audience it is always a win-win. I rest my case!
  9. Nah, until they make a "Music Band" that is accessable to all preferences, I'll pass!! neo I'm sure you and the my little pony fan club could all gang up and write in petitioning them for "Fairlytale lullaby band" Seriously though Neo, what they are doing caters to most preferences and it's you who is (as always) the vocal miniority, so don't get your hopes up! **begin rant** Dude, you slay me. I wasn't trying to start anything, the dude asked who was buying and I wanted to define my answer, nothing more! But, your statment doesn't hold water. You say they are catering to "Most Preferences". That is not true. It may be for you and the people that you are around, but not me. Right now, on my iPod, I have over 700 Contemporary Christian Songs, I have all 3 John Mayer Albums, Several Matchbox 20 Albums, and Various Country albums from Brad Paisley to Taylor Swift. Now, I have a total of 1186 songs on my iPod and not ONE of them are available on the Rock Band via disc or download. I said all of that to say, I'm not complaining about anyone "music preference" here. Rock Band and Guitar Hero sell heaps. I'm just saying, personally, if I was to buy a game it would have to be something that I like to listen to and enjoy. I don't like Metallica or Guns and Roses or The Who or Whoever. So, I'm not going to spend over $100 on a game full of music that is not for me. Just like, if they were to make a "Country Band" game, I would suspect you wouldn't be first in line to pick it up! However, I do stand by my belief that if either Rock Band or Guitar Hero made the move to Cross Platform they would be come the instant leader in the industry for ALL GAMES! Could you imagine if Rock Band announce they would be releasing albums by Elvis, Michael Jackson, Patsy Cline, Garth Brooks, and Casting Crowns? Seriously, their sales would triple in the blink of an eye. So, while I love the gameplay of the music games, until they make it accessable for people that don't like hard or off beat rock music, than I will pass. And Beating Hookers in GTA has nothing to do with it! **End Rant** Now, onto brighter pastures, literally!! Viva Pinata TiP is WONDERFUL!! I can't get enough of that dang game. I'm now at level 12 with an expanded garden and can't wait to play some more. It's one of those games, the kind of games you once you get started you can't put it down, games like Civ Revolution and The Sims and Animal Crossing. I'm still learning, but I'm getting better. And, to make it even better, my wife likes it! She is so NOT a gamer. She will play Wii Sports, Mario Kart, and Scene It and that's about it. But she has really caught on to Viva Pinata which makes it that much more enjoyable for me. And, I can't talk without Mentioning LEGO Batman. Just a few weeks away, I am SO STOKED for this game. I LOVE LEGO Star Wars but would be lying if I wasn't a little disappointed with LEGO Indy. However, LEGO Batman has the potential to be my new favorite LEGO Game, as I prefer Bats to Luke any day! I got a few of the LEGO Batman Happy Meal toys over the weekend and they come with codes on the toys to unlock stuff in the game. How is that for promotion, now I want the game even more, if that's possible. Anyway, I'm trying to enjoy Viva Pinata while I can, because soon I know I'm not going to be able to put down LEGO Batman! neo
  10. I have, I've used Google and YouTube, my problem is there are tons of videos and sites that want you to download this and install that. about 5 years ago the same thing happened with me and LimeWire. I was looking for some sound effects for an event and a guy told me about LimeWire. However, it ended up crashing my computer and I had to buy another one. So, I was hoping someone could recommend something to me. I trust you guys and know you wouldn't tell me to do something that would harm my computer. That's why I asked. neo
  11. Sweet, I made a McDonalds run over the weekend, still thinking they had the Star Wars Bobbleheads. However, to my suprise I left with a SWEET Joker Copter and Batboat!! I love this, in fact, not only have they built my anticipation for the game even more, I picked up a few of the small Batman LEGO sets yesterday as well. I love it!! As for the Keychains, Karamazov is right. They are Pre-Order bonus. If you pre-order the game at GameStop you get one of four (Batman, Robin, Joker, Catwoman) when you pick up the game. I already have my game paid off and there's a Batman keychain with my name on it, by request . Too bad they didn't have a Nightwing, oh well! neo
  12. Alright, I know there are TONS of programs and websites that can help you download YouTube videos, but I've never used one before. I need something that's Free and can download or convert the file to a .wmv file so I can play it on my Xbox 360 and Computer. Are there any sites or programs that you guys use regularly that you would recommend. I don't want a lot of banner crap or something that drags my PC down or something that is unsafe. So, what do you guys say?? neo
  13. Nah, until they make a "Music Band" that is accessable to all preferences, I'll pass!! neo
  14. Well, we are 6 issues in, anyone wanna comment? I do have to say, even if the whole story turns out to be crap, the Cover of issue 6 was worth it. Cap, Thor, and Iron Man back together is almost breathtaking. And to be honest, I prefer these three to the previous three. Bucky, The New Thor, and Post-Civil War SHIELD Director Iron Man. I love it! As for the issue itself, I'm wasn't too impressed. In fact, I haven't been that impressed with the Main Title at all. There is just so much going on and the pacing is very off a lot of times. However, what makes this story great is New and Mighty Avengers. You get the meat of the story there and then you can enjoy the fast paced action of the main title. However, I really couldn't imagine following this story without the Avengers books. So, here we go with Issue 6 neo
  15. I'm Back - Did you Miss Me?!?! I just got back from a 9 day vacation in sunny Florida. It was a blast, it was Kira's first time to go to Disney and she LOVED it! Anyway, back on topic.... Right now I'm still gaming Madden and Castle Crashers quite a bit. I also picked up Viva Pinata last night, but haven't played it yet. Me and my wife are looking forward to that one, hopefully we'll be on some tonight! I also got TMNT from Gamefly so I'm trying to work through that in a rapid pace. Ok, first question is varried. While a came like Castle Crashers at $15 or Bionic Commando and Worms at $10 is a complete steal, there are also games like EA Fantasy Football that isn't worth a $1.50. So, they can be good values and they can be wastes of money. Of course, we all have different opinions what what good value is though. I would pay for a game like Geomotry Wars if it was the only game on the Arcade, and for some people they'd pay $50 for a retail version. The great thing about the arcade though is getting the free Trial games for every game they release. If you want to know if it's worth it, download the trial and see for yourself. Most of the time it is. And, to add further, I'm a HUGE arcade fan. I currenly own 36 titles and the Arcade is probably the main reason that I keep my Xbox (since most games are cross-platform). I honestly wish most developers would go this route and make extremely good, shorter, cheaper games for us to enjoy. Bionic Commando is a perfect example of why the Arcade is not only a good value, but a good quality too. You are getting beautiful HD graphics, a full game plus Co-Op and the potential for downloadable content in the future.....and you are getting it all for $10! I would easily pay $40 or $50 for the same game. I would love to see Sega ditch the crappy Sonic ideas and just make us HD classic Sonic games for $10 on the arcade! I'd love to see more games like Penny Arcade, where it's RPG (or action or adventure) where you have chapters to play along. I love that Capcom is bring the classic Mega Man experince (why I think it should be updated graphics, but that's another post). In all reality I would rather pay $10 or $15 for these, maybe short, but detailed and feature full editions of games rather than break my bank for a graphics porn show. Sorry, didn't mean to go on so long, it's been a while since I posted, lol. As for Battlestar, I liked it, but I could have been much better. The came is basically Arena dogfighting. You are dropped into a space arena and you are charged with several tasks: Defeat the Cylon Ships, Defend Galactica, Escort the Transport, etc. None are too deep and there is no customization at all. There are no cut scenes or even pictures of anyone. It's basically a menu and then you are directly in the arena. That being said, I like playing, it's fun. As a big BSG fan though, I was hoping for more heart, more story. The show is about characters, I would have liked to see even text interations and side missions not from the show. But again, this is a great example of it's being an early, $10 arcade game. I would have liked to see something closers to Star Wars: Rouge Squadron, but all in all I enjoyed it. My advice is play the trial version. The whole game is just the trial version over and over with a different objective each time. If you think that would get boring fast (and it does) they I would pass. But again, this is coming from someone who bought it, so if you really like the series and like Space Battles, there are definitely worse ways to spend $10! neo
  16. Now now BS. Let's be nice. I think what Massivecarnage was trying to say is that it's Handsome's money so he should do what he wants and not what 360 fanboys like me suggest, lol. And to that I agree. I have a job to make money too so that I can spend how much I want on what I want. So, in the end it doesn't matter what any of us say because it Handsome's money and he needs to do what's best for him. Now, let's all play nice!! neo
  17. Thanks for the comments all of you guys. Dan makes a great point to support what I'm saying. We are all individuals. We all have different standards, preferences, and levels of maturity. My rant was never against violence or cursing in games (I'm not Jack Thompson, lol), but it's more of make them optional. I had a perfect example of what I'm talking about and then I'll let it go. My friend has Liberty City Stories on his PSP. Now, I love the idea of GTA. I would buy it in a heart beat if you could skip all of the "unnessasary" stuff. So, I'm my friend hands me his PSP and was like, try it. So, I'm having a pretty good time, I'm driving around which is harded than I thought it would be on the PSP and I run into a car and just about flip over. Then, whoever was riding with me, said something like "Whoa, you drive like a Bit#*". I couldn't believe it, it was so out of place that it made me stop playing the game. As a father I have to think about my daughter. I don't even play Halo with my daughter in the same room because she is too young to understand violence yet, but if she was in her bedroom playing and heard the crap that comes out of so games he would be talking like a Street Girl in a matter of weeks. This is what I'm talking about. If you think you have to have that crap in there, make it optional. As a father and the leader of my home I have to make decisions that are for the greater good and that means I miss out of games like GTA. Not because I'm afraid of violence or so holy that I don't swear. It's because I have to be a role model for the people that are around me, especially my children. So, in the end, for me it's No-Filter, No-Game. neo
  18. I'd have to agree with Timbo (shocking I know), I didn't like the SW Demo that much at all. Some of the things you can do are cool, and the first time you get to pick up a TIE and throw it is pretty amazing. But then, it's just pretty bland. The combat is nowhere near as polished as I had hoped. It honestly looked like they put all their effort into the Force Lift ability and the rest if mediocre. That being said, it is cool and I'll probably pick it up eventually when it hits $20 or $30. Definetly not worth $60 from my play time! My biggest grip was deflecting the lasers back. They shot at you so fast and furious there was no way you could manual deflect everything back. It's actually quite aggravating. No, I'll stick with LEGO Star Wars, still the best Star Wars game ever made! neo
  19. Two Words: Castle Crashers!! Stop reading and buy that Game! oh wait..... Three Words: The Last Man!! After you start downloading Castle Crashers, Turn on your PS3 and Start Downloading The Last Man. But.........which to play first?!?!?! I have argued in favor of and still believe that the future is Digital Distribution and I love the Xbox Live Arcade (and the PSN at times, lol). I honestly would buy every game for the rest of my life from the Marketplace if I could! Anyway, Arcade games are really getting the most of my time these days, and what free time I have for the Xbox Itself goes to Madden! Oh and Karamazov, you need to give Oblivion another chance. It is overwhelming and I know exactly how you feel. I've never been a huge RPG fan. The first RPG that I can remember played with Ocarina of Time (and that's not even a true RPG). And I can remember trying to get through the lost woods the first time and I had that same feeling of being out of my league. But, I stayed with it and experienced of the best gaming experiences of my life. So, you can imagine my mind exploded when I turned on Oblivion for the first time, lol. Just walking out of the cave I had to turn the fan on because I started sweating. To be honest, it took me a good 2 to 3 hours before I finally started to feel better and even now it still kicks my butt. It's so visareal, I don't want to do the wrong thing or still something or kill anyone innocent. My hands still get all sweaty when a Guard notices that I've stolen something. The game is amazing. You really should invest some more time in it, I feel you would be rewarded greatly! EDIT - - - Just noticed Dan's Post - - - What I'm looking forward too: 360 - Viva Pinata: TiP (Reserved) 360 - Banjo Kazooie: N&B (Reserved) 360 - Fall Out 3 (Reserved) 360 - Fable II (Reserved) XBLA - Banjo Kazooie XBLA - Mega Man 9 PS3 - Little Big Planet Wii - 2009....... neo
  20. Ok, I haven't posted in a while, but I've been thinking about this topic recently. The more I think about it, the more I think this is a GREAT idea! I don't like to keep comparing the two, but it's hard not too. This is DC's Captain America story. I've been reading back through my Cap Hardcovers and the more I read it the more I think THIS should have been RIP. Batman dies, and now we have Tim and Dick not only trying to deal with the death in their own ways, but also taking over the mantel. Gotham needs Batman, period! But think of the story, to me it's not really about Batman as it is about Bruce. Who takes over for Bruce? Does he have a will that leaves everything to Dick or to Tim or to Both. Where does Jason Todd and Barbara fit in the picture. To be honest, the more I read RIP the more I think HUSH is going to take over. In fact, the reason I think Hush wears bandages is because he has had physical surgery to be idential to Bruce. So, does Bruce die and then Hush take over. And what does the rest of the Bat gang do with that. Obviously they know that Hush isn't Batman, but they can't come out and say anything right. And if they did wouldn't Hush just expose the truth. So, they are forced to work with Hush as the new Batman and new Bruce. Man, I'm getting pumped. I don't know how it's going to turn out, but if they writing it there (which it has been) this may be one of the best comic arcs in a long time. So, for right now RIP has all my attention. We'll just wait and see what happens! neo
  21. Dang Gustav......that's just like the Germans, can't trust them as far as you can throw them . All kidding aside, I wish you best buddy, you'll be in my prayers through the weekend. I was raise in Florida so I know what it's like buddy. I've lived through Andrew and Floyd and both were pretty bad in their own right. Andrew was actually the worst in like 50 years until Katrina, so they are nothing to play around with. Just be safe and let us know if there is anything we can do for ya! neo
  22. Well, I've suffered the RRoD myself. I can say that sound had nothing to do with it. What it sounds like to me is either your disc drive is messed up or it could be incredibly dusty inside the Xbox. If you dust regularly, then it sounds more like your disc drive then the actual hardware. Unfortunetly there is no answer for that other than a new disc drive. If you don't dust regularly, I sugguest you pick up a can of air that you would use on electronics and blow that sucker out. By the fan, inside the disc tray, etc. Then, if that doesn't help it has to be your disc tray. As for your other comment, I could never with a clear conscience recommend selling your 360 for a PS3. There really is no comparrison as a gaming platform, the 360 is just better. I have both and I'll tell you the only time my PS3 comes on is to watch Blu Rays. My advice would be box it up and send it back to Microsoft. It's probably still under warrantee and they will replace it or fix it at no charge. Good luck! neo
  23. Ok dude, you don't get to just post that and everything be OK. We need some details!! First, where were you at? How did it play? Who was your character, what powers? Did you see any familiar faces? Describ the controls... Come on name, enquiring minds wanna know!!! neo
  24. So, over the weekend I was browsing through GameStop, trading in some old stuff including 2 DS Phats that I had lying around (I still have 2 lites so I'm good). Anyway, they were doing an extra $20 on system trade in's, so I got $40 on both systems, plus the games. Anyway, I got within a close enough range to check out a PSP. I had been wanting one since I got my PS3 a few weeks ago, so I took the plunge. I chose the Madden box set because it was a better deal (with 2 games, movie, memory stick at only $30 more). However, I would have prefered a black system, I'm not a huge fan of the blue . Anyway, that brings me to why I'm writing in the first place. I know we can't talk about homebrew stuff on here, but I was hoping that maybe one of you guys are into the PSP a lot and can give me some pointers. I'm looking at emulators for NES, SNES, etc. If you could maybe PM some instruction or post a site here that I could check out I would appreciate it much! Also, while on subject, if you could recommend any previous games that are worth picking up! neo
  25. Well, after I lost my first online Madden game to my Brother-in-law (21-17) I got to sit down with Bionic Commando for the first time last night. All I can say is that's amazing! It brought back all of those old, frustrating, memories of yesteryear! I love the challange of the game, although I think the stick/d-pad is a bit off! It's hard to distiguish the Horizontal Grapple and the Diagonal Grapple. But, again I'm sure it will come easier with practice. The To Down 3D enemy fights are really cool too. It is easlier worth the going price of $10 (800 points). I love what Capcom is doing with these remakes. They did it with Commando 3 then 1942 (which is also AWESOME) and now Bionic Commando. I have always loved the Classic 2D stuff from my young years and I love than Capcom is bringing them back. You can also through Prince of Persia, Galaga, and Pac Man into the converstaion as well. I wish all companies would go back and do this! It would be amazing! In fact, I love the "updated classics" so much, I'm kinda bummed they didn't do the same with Mega Man 9. While I love the classic Mega Man games, I would have like to see a "Rearmed" version of Mega Man, in 2D with HD graphics! But, in the end I'll buy it anyway . I've mentioned it before but there are so many games I would like to see redone like this. Games like Castlevainia, Rygar, Metroid, Gunstar Heroes, Ninja Gaiden, and really I could go on and on. Anyway, Bionic Commando is great and I'm glad that Capcom for one is giving us some great updates to classic games and I hope they keep it up! neo
