  1. Alright, I played Batman: AA for about 2 hours last night and I have to say: "Believe the hype"! This is one of the best games that I've played all year and THE. BEST. BATMAN. GAME. EVER. (no that that is saying much). Anyway, the game plays and looks great. The fighting is top notch, the stealth kills are satisfiying and the mood and environment in the game are transporting. I am fixing to get off and cannot wait to play some more. Right now I have it from GameFly, but I have to say I'll probably be paying to keep this baby! neo
  2. Sounds good. I loved KotOR other than combat. And I really tried to play it, I put about 4 hours into it but could just never get the appeal. If KotOR was Real Time like, I dunno, LEGO Star Wars but with the RPG elements I would have been extatic. So, if Mass Effect is anything like that, I guess I'll have to pick it up. As for Disc vs. GoD. I actually prefer downloadable content over discs. Sure, I could probably get the game for $12 to $15 used, but I would rather pay the $20 and have it on my Hard Drive. Honestly, this is a feature I've wanted from day one. A little off topic, but I wish you could just burn your games to your HDD and be able to play WITHOUT the disc. I know you'd have to have some way to police it, but that's what I'd rather see. If they decided to just release all new games on GoD, I would be more than happy to download them.......of course, I'd new a bigger (cheaper) HDD then! neo
  3. So, I bought my Summer of Arcade games and was looking at my left over points trying to decide what to buy and I'm really leaning toward Mass Effect from Games on Demand. I have enough points for it, so that is not an issue. What is an issue is just how much fun I'll have with the game. So, I thought I'd ask you guys. There was never a Demo released so I've never played the game. The only thing that I really know about BioWare is what I played in KotOR, and I didn't like it. I know that I'm in the minority and I really am a Star Wars fan, but I could never get into the combat of KotOR. I didn't like having to slow down and pick your attacks and not have full control over the fighting. I never played Jade Empire for that reason and I honestly skipped over Mass Effect for the same reason. However, it's $20 now on GoD and it did get really good reviews so I'm tempted to pick it up, but again with not having a demo I don't want to pay for something that I'm going to hate. Anyway, I was wondering what your guys impressions of the game are and if you could try to relate it to another game that I may be more familar with. neo
  4. Dude, if it's free I'm in. I have my league on CBSSports that I always sign up for, but I'm game for a second team! neo
  5. Oh, getting all fancy huh madman.... Also, how is Pocket God? I was waiting for a "Lite" version but they haven't made one. neo
  6. I'm also interested in Batman: AA. It's actually in the mail from GameFly and will be here tomorrow. I can't wait!! and Wii, I'm so with you on Fable. It's probably one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I loved it. I'm more of a casual gamer so I enjoyed the action RPG elemets of the game. Anyway, I'm super stoked for Fable III, it can't come soon enough! neo
  7. I have actually thought about picking up Metroid Prime Trilogy, as I haven't played any of the three games. However, I haven't bought a Wii game since Super Mario Galaxy and haven't played my Wii this year. I may pass. How sweet would it be if Nintendo would sell out and just become a publisher, then I could have Mario and Link on my 360......Man, what could be! neo
  8. Agreed Danny, do I have your gamertag? neo
  9. Holy Cow! Shadow Complex may be my Game of the Year!!! So, I downloaded the game from my Work Computer yesteday so it would be ready when I got home last night. The first level just wowed me. The way you can shoot in the foregound and background is fantastic. I've only played about an Hour and I honestly can't wait to get home tonight and play some more. I'm looking forward to ODST and MW2, but after playing SC, I'm not sure which game will get the most of my attention. neo
  10. Well, I've officially made my iPhone my primary portable system. I've owned every Nintendo Handheld made since the GameBoy. Last week, after not turning my DSi on for almost 2 months I decided it's time to get rid of it. I bought the DSi with the vision of a Portable Virtual Console. To my un-suprise, Nintendo has done nothing for the long time fans and releases super crappy d/l games weekly. So, until they change their focus, I'm changing mine. Which brings us to the topic at hand. The iPhone! I know we have a few iPhone users around here. I have to say I wasn't sure about what the iPhone could do in games originally, but it has proven to be a worthy gaming platform. Plus, you can get the same quality of most PSP games for $2-$10 and you can't beat that. So, I thought we could all discuss what you like or dislike on the App Store. Since there is so much out there, it's easy to miss a real gem! As for me, I have purchased several games, not counting the "lite" versions that I have of some. My top 5 games right now are: 1. Tetris -This is the Tetris you love, and I honestly think it's better than my Tetris DS version!! 2. Sims 3 -I was BLOWN away with this game when I played it. Seriously, this is the FULL Sims game. It looks as good and plays as well as it does on my PC. Whenever friends ask what kinda gaming power it has, this is the game I boot up! 3. Assasin's Creed -Much like Sims 3, this game really shows some of the power of the iPhone. It's fully 3D and pretty fun. My main gripe would be loading times, but they are not that big a deal. 4. Reign of Swords -I bought this game when it first came out at $1.99. I love Advance Wars and FF: Tactics so I was looking forward to it. While it would never win in a contest against those two titles, it's still pretty fun and plays like a Turn Based Tactical game should. 5. The Oregon Trail -I can't remember how many dang times I played this game in middle school. But the iPhone adds style and I keep playing it over and over again. The humor is great too! Also worth noting is Super Monkey Ball, Top Gun, and Asphalt4. On the Free Front, I love Paper Toss, PapiJump, and Trace. So, what about you guys, what's on your iPhone? neo
  11. You know, I've never been one to argue with you Nestle! I think I will, I mean, even if I don't play it much it should still be worth $5 to see Iron Man kick the crap outta Mega Man. neo
  12. I have a question for you guys! I currently own: Shadow, Complex, Trials HD, Turtles in Time, and 'Slosion Man. The only Summer of Arcade game that I didn't buy was Marvel vs. Capcom. I have never played it before and I've never been a big fighting game fan. However, with the MS promotion, if you buy all 5 games, you will get 800 MS Points. So, if you do the math, I can actually buy MvsC for 1200 points, and get my 800 points bonus and really only be our 400 points ($5). So, I guess my question is: IS MvsC good enough for $5 or should I just keep my $5 for something else?!?! neo
  13. Alright, well I guess I'm the only Madden fan in the room. For what it's worth, it's a fantastic game this year. No major differences but enough small improvements to keep me happy! On to another subject, the Summer of Arcade part II. How does everyone feel about the line up? Have you purchased/played any games? What are your thoughts? I will say, from the annoucement, I have been WAITING for "Shadow Complex" (Here's a nice review of it: Shadow Complex). I LOVE the classic Metroid and Castlveinia games, so this is right up my alley! I cannot WAIT to download this game. I may have to wait until Friday (payday), but I will buy this game. I also wanted to mention Trails HD. Did anyone purchase this game? I hadn't had a chance to play it until Saturday. I played Madden most of the day and wanted a little break. I remembered that I had the demo and hadn't tried it. So I turned it on......and spent the next 2 1/2 hours playing the DEMO!! This game is fantasic and addicting. Me and my Brother-in-law just kept going back and forth trying to beat each others time. If you haven't played it, it's kinda like ExciteBike meets Tony Hawk meets Sonic the Hedgehog and it's just too much fun. This was the SoA game that least had my attention, but now it's a must buy as soon as I get some money! neo
  14. Alright gang, it's Maddenoliday Eve. Who's picking up Madden tomorrow?!?!? neo
  15. Well, I went last night to check it out and I am in the Sub with the Glass Half Full crowd. There were things that drove me crazy, but over all I thought it was great. Much better than either of the Transformers movies, by far. It was pretty clean and even came off funny at times. In no way do I feel I wasted my money......which is how I felt leaving TF2. Anyway, I loved all the vehicles. When I was a kid GiJoe was cool because they were little figures and you got to play with awesome vehicles (Side Note: A reason that I think a Minimate Line of GiJoes would rock!). The "Shark" Subs and Jets and Personal Flying Crafts and Snowmobiles. I just loved all of the little tools and vehicles they got to play on. The Dialogue was corney at best for the most part, but it was alright. And I think Cobra Commander and Destro were good, but I can see them being great in the future films. And, while I don't have to say it, the Baroness was dead sexy!! As for my cons, I only have a few. I don't like Scarlett and Ripcord getting the kiss on, but I can see how this would make for good tension in the future movies. I don't like how Cobra Commander is SO different looking. I like his character, but would have preferred a blue cloak with a Cobra on it or something that resembled his old cartoon self. And finally, what hasen't been said about Snake Eye's God awful mask!?!? I thought he looked sweet at first until I saw the light glisten off those lips. Seriously, it looked like the dude was always puckered up waiting for a Kiss. I honestly thought that was on purpose for the enevitable joke from Ripcord.....but it never came. His lips were like the Elephant in the room............no pun intended! All in all, I'm glad I saw it and I will buy it on Blu Ray to watch it again. I would recommend anyone check it out. It won't change your views of action movies, but it's well worth the price of admission! Yo Joe!! neo
  16. See, the draw for me is having the games on soft copy. I have LEGO Star Wars: TCS and I've played the Darth out of it, but I will still buy that on demand so I will have it on my HDD. I love the ability of booting up a game at any time I choose and switching on the fly. No loud disc drive sounds, no RRoD. It's all of that........but it's not worth the price they are asking! neo
  17. We have tickets for Sunday Night. It's a Guys Night Out. I'm actually really looking forward to it and I think it will be better than we all think.....at least I hope. I've heard a few reviews say it's a great Popcorn action movie and better than Transformers.............but that's not saying much... neo
  18. Knock, Knock *whose there* It's ME!!! LOL, Sorry I haven't been around guys. I'm sure I'll have plenty to add going forward but I wanted to mention the new Xbox Dashboard update. I was a Preview User so I've had it for a few weeks. Everything was included except the Games on Demand which started showing up yesterday on my Marketplace. Now, I have to be really honest with you, GoD was of my MOST WANTED features for the Xbox. In fact, I've said it here before that I hope the Next Gen is all DLC. Anyway, I have to say that I was SORELY let down when I started investigating. I was making my list, and checking it twice. Mass Effect, LEGO Star Wars: TCS, Burnout, Bioshock, and Oblivion were all on my To-Buy list. Then my Xbox reached up and kicked me right in the nads! Bioshock and Oblivion both $30?!?! LEGO Star Wars $30....Give me a Break. Crap, GameStop has an Oblivion/Bioshock 2-Pack for $40. Maybe I missed something, but I thought by making everything downloadable you are saving on Packaging Costs, Manpower to Manufacture, Shipping Costs, etc. However, it's actually MORE EXPENSIVE to download your favorite titles. Maybe I just suck at business economics, but if I have to charge $60 for my games once they are burned onto a CD ($), boxed by labor ($$), sent to retailers ($$$) I would also think if all I had to do was put the game on a server for people to download with NO ADDITIONAL COSTS, I could sell the same game at $40 and probably make the same amount of profit.....if not more!! In short, I would never pay $60 for Bioshock and Oblivion to download when I can just run 3 miles up the road and pick up the same two games for $20 less. I was really hoping to see $20 games at $15, $30 games at $20-$25, etc. The only game right now that stands a chance of taking up my harddrive space is Mass Effect. I never bought it or played it but always wanted to and it's both $20 on the Marketplace and at GameStop, so no real loss for me. So, what about you guys. Anyone planning on using Games on Demand?!?! neo
  19. I actually love this idea but since PR is almost all but dead after this season it will probably never happen. Like the TC, I've tried to make my own customs, but suck at it. The real problem with Rangers Mates are, each wave would only be rangers. There are, traditionally, 5 core rangers and a specialty 6th ranger. You would either get just the 6 rangers and 1 variant per wave, or they would skip on the girls (as Bandi normally does) and give you 4 male rangers and 2 villians. How, this line would actually work well and be super cool is to just give us the Megazords and Villians. Each series has a minimim of 3 Zords which would be perfect because we would get more variety and cool villians. But, to get at least one ranger, it would be cool to throw them in as a variant. Here's a few examples: Wave 1 -Dino Megazord vs. Goldar -Dragonzord vs. Cyclopsis -Mega Dragon Zord vs. Rita Chase: Green Dino Ranger Wave 2 -Thunder Megazord vs. Lord Zedd -Tigerzord vs. Master Vile -Mega Tigerzord vs. Serpentera Chase: White Ranger Wave 3 -Ninja Megazord vs. Ooze -Shogun Megazord vs. Rito -Ninjor vs. Serpentina Chase: Red Ninja Ranger Wave 4 -Zeo Megazord vs. King Mondo -Super Zeo Megazord vs. Silo -Pyramidas vs. Prince Gasket Chase: Gold Zeo Ranger Wave 5 -Turbo Megazord vs. Rygog -Robo Racer vs. General Havok -Rescue Megazord vs. Elgar Chase: Green Turbo Ranger Wave 6 -Astro Megazord vs. Ecliptor -Delta Megazord vs. Darkkanda -Mega Voyager vs. Astronima Chase: Silver Space Ranger Ok, I'll stop, because I could really go all day long, lol. neo
  20. Ah, LEGO Batman has been a highlight for the LEGO series. However, LEGO Indy 2 is really looking great. It's going to come with a full, Co-Op, level creator as well as all the normal content we see in a LEGO game. Think Little Big Planet meets LEGO Indy 1. It's going to be sweet! And don't forget, for the record, LEGO Harry Potter and LEGO Rock Band! neo
  21. Sorry I've been MIA guys, long story. Anyway, I've been busy. Of course the Halo Wars and RE5 Demos have been nice. I also picked up Prince of Persia for Christmas. However, I beat Fable II my 2nd time and then downloaded the Knothole Island Expansion so I put PoP off to the side. Until about a week ago. And, let me tell you, I'm thougholy enjoying this game. It's art style is awesome. In fact, it's the perfect Marriage of "Wind Waker" and "Twilight Princess". It looks stunning and Elika is probably the hottest thing in Video Games since Lara Croft. My favorite part about the whole game though, has to be the One-on-One battles. I love how it goes from platformer into an almost "fighter" style experience. All in all, it might actually make my Top 5 of last year's games......but I still have a ways to go so the jury is still out. neo
  22. You know, I just read back over my rant. It's been a while. And, I still stand behind it. I still think that it should be an included feature on any M rated game. I still haven't played "Gears" so I can comment on that per-say. But I do feel that it says a lot that the devopers would choose to include that. My main problem with this whole thing is that it's doesn't water down their game to add filters. Those that choose to play with the filters on may get a watered down experience, but adding the filters doesn't not take away from the core of any game. There is a long list of games that I would have gladly paid money for if they would have only included filters. Games like Fallout 3, GTA, Penny Arcade, and God of War. The only reason this is a moot point is because those games will sell and sell, so my petty 2 cents won't change anyone mind. This is the same argument I have with "Rock Band". If games would add filters, they wouldn't eliminate their already huge sales, but they would be more accessable to more people. Much like Rock Band would get even MORE of an audience if they spread their wings a little bit. Of course they did add County Music.....so maybe they read my rant after all . neo
  23. Well, do share! The thread is labeled Spoilers! neo
  24. HOLY SWEET COW - - - - I HAVE TO HAVE THESE!! I've actually be wondering the same thing Nestle. I'm really into all this new Lantern stuff. Johns has taken was was an alright character and turned it into a super detailed mythos that has become my favorite in comics. I've got to get my hands on this ring set! If anyone knows where to buy them, please post here!! neo
  25. I'd like everyone to meet Mr. Calen Azariah We were blessed with our 2nd child on Friday, 12/26 at 2:25 pm. He was 7lbs 2oz. He is our first boy and I'm extremely excited.
