  1. As a Big 7 collector for both Marvel and DC (DCD v. ML/MS, DCIH v. MU, Heroclix for both, Minimates for both, SHSquad v. Action League, Muggs v. Pop Heroes (although Marvel has already licensed its characters so that will leave my Marvel Muggs unpartnered once again), and of course in terms of Statues although I limit it to only the Big 3)...

I find it extremely difficult that there are too many cuties.

I skipped Beanz, I might skip this too.

But they are just too darn cute. :D

  2. i'm one of the twisted individuals who keeps the packaging . . . so the spare parts that aren't on display are actually in their little plastic trays, in the packaging.

    Don't judge me :P

This would be best, if not for storage issues, as far as myself and my room is concerned. :D

Initially, when I was just starting out, I didn't foresee minimate accessories as a problem. But when my collection started to grow, and I kept on purchasing and purchasing, I suddenly found myself in a minimate accessory deluge. :(

I fold the boxes and throw the plastic holders so I can't do Nessex' method.

Youbastard's method is nice. I'm now torn between it and dividing the accessories per character or theme (e.g. All Iron Man accessories go together, or all Avenger accessories for that matter). I wonder what's more manageable.

  3. The way I read the comp its for characters over the normal minimate size scale of 2" so guys like Bane and Killer Croc who used the larger minimate body are cool. I think Black Mask dont fit in the larger scale.

It could do with a little bit clearing up on the rules.

Yes, that's the idea of the contest. I added some examples to the rules and hope it's a little more clear now.

So, sorry Slegos, although Black Mask is a cool design it probably won't work (unless it's from some story where he's on steroids).

    Hi,

How about if the character's height is highly variable? He/She may choose to appear in scale with humans (often) but it would not be unusual for him/her to appear gigantic, even larger than the 2.5" scale minimate body?

    :D

  4. By the way, I just thought if any of you has seen a custom Jesus minimate? :D

I'm not peddling religion or Christianity whatsoever, it would just be cool to own a minimate of all religion figureheads.

I'd also like a Buddha, Moses, Brahma and even a burning bush minimate.

For Islam, I'll just say that Allah cannot be represented in any form, therefore, He's an invisible 'mate. Kinda 'like the SDCC exclusive Hot Wheels Wonder Woman invisible jet . :D

I made a Jesus Minimate ,it took me ages but I eventually nailed him . God knows where he went .....maybe I'll find him again one day .

Then you have to find Jesus, you're lost in your way. :D

  5. @MiniFiendUK - right, unfortunately I don't have access to the blank white 'mates. :(

  6. Hello guys!

Another minimate collector from the Philippines here.

Besides 'mates, I collect comics (first love :P ). Then I branched out to toys, cards and other knick knacks. I mainly concentrate on figures relating to the X-Men and the Big 7 of both Marvel and DC (Marvel's would be Spidey, Wolvy, Hulk, Cap, Iron Man, Thor and Mr. Fantastic, in my opinion). I have completed their representations in the 6" scale (DC Direct and Marvel Legends) and after a while, I decided to acquire and complete them in all affordable representations (except statues...hehe).

With the X-franchise, I pose my figures to imitate famous comic covers. The cover that I am most fond of is X-Men 1 wraparound cover by Jim Lee. Besides MLs, I am trying to imitate this cover in Heroclix, Superhero Squad, Zizzle and Marvel Universe 3.75" scale.

Imagine my surprise when the 90's X-Men minimate line came up. :D

I'm now just waiting for my Archangel and Brown Wolverine to arrive, as well as the release of Wave 37 Professor X for the accurate hoverchair accessory and I'm all set, my magnum opus is complete. :D

Aside from the X-Men, I have completed my Marvel Big 7 minimates but am having a difficult time completing the DC Big 7 (Where are you Hal, Arthur and Jonnz?).

I fell in love with the minimate line that I realized I am not limiting myself anymore, I'm buying practically everything. :(

There you have it in a nutshell. See you at the boards! :D

  7. I won series 28 Deadpool on ebay today. One Grail found.

    Congrats! A reasonable price I hope? :D

    To share my grails:

Comics - Uncanny X-Men 1 September 1963 (easy to say Action Comics 1, but I like to ground myself within the confines of reality, and besides, my favorite comic is X-Men)

    Stamp - Penny Black

Magic the Gathering - Black Lotus

NBA Card - Rookie Card of Michael Jordan (I already have my favorite player's rookie card - Magic Johnson)

Toys - I already have MOC Marvel Legends Deadpool. I need the complete DC Direct Endless Family and a reasonably prices Sandman statue.

Minimates - I already have Wave 28 Deadpool. I still need tons of DC characters, but I don't think I can classify any of them as my holy grail. If there will be Endless minimates, then maybe.

    :D
