From the marvelousnews photos, did you guys notice the young alien (once it bursts from someone's chest) behind the card? Between that, the combination of weapons (a flame thrower/pulse rifle in addition to each individual weapon) and Newt's doll head you could tell DST went to great lengths for this line. I hope it extends to the Predator line as well.

Thank god Rob that wasn't your picture. I saw the lighter and thought "No! Don't burn the minimates!" I mean with the inventory you have you could probably do it and then every minimate would become an exclusive.

The box Captain Paco is talking about has the tape intact and actually showed up before the LCS packs. Everytime I go to that TRU, I think I've found something new and then walk away sad.

So Maleficent to come out at the same time as the DVD release? Or Mickey as the sorceror's apprentice? Or maybe Goofy as a zombie (I know that will never happen, but it's worth a shot). I saw Predators last night on cable and it reminded me how great minimates of them would have been and then I got a little sad.

So Zach, it's kingdom hearts isn't it? For a while there I thought maybe it was the premiere of the big bang line (Sheldon in a Flash outfit would have really gotten lots of people), but after looking through the thread I think it is our chance to get to get Jack Skellington, Mickey, and many other Disney characters.

Well, we do have the Lecter mask, so a little cutting and we have a ballgag. As for the parts, we would only need a clean Marcellus head as Butch was already messed up from the night before. I'm a little concerned about including the gimp in this set, as I can just see me opening this infront of my son and him asking me what's a gimp? I'm going to guess this will be a convention exclusive because of this.

Actually, what if the mates shown at Toy fair of Jules and Vincent were not the ones for the Jimmie set, but the diner set? For the Jimmie set, I kind of thought they would be bloody versions or Jules and Vincent in their skivvies with alternate parts to make the ones we see pictured. I wonder if either set will come with the briefcase and if it will open to show us....a yellow light. I hope the diner set also comes with the bad mf'er wallet.

Yes, beware (honestly, I have found most of TWD wave 5 and all of wave 18, but that was a month and a half ago, so hopefully it is just some dusty boxes hiding in a warehouse waiting to be free)

For me, this is like asking me why do I enjoy toys at all. I love minimates because of their diversity of characters and lines and the capability to make any characters I cannot find right now. Who would have thought getting a little Spider-Man 10 (almost 11) years ago would lead to a massive collection that includes Tinkerbell, Thor, the Terminator, and the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I have found that I am weening myself from other toy lines as the figures and interest dries up, but minimates have only increased. I also have to say thanks to the MMMV community as they have shown me recipes to get some of the characters that I sometimes feel like I will not get even with all this diversity. I know that I'm very much a lurker (being a chemistry professor doesn't allow for much free time), but this is the first website I go to each morning to see what's going on with the little figures that I love.

Zach, man now I'm bummed there's no Beverly Hills Cop minimates coming. Sigh, I guess I'll go take the banana out of the tailpipe of my wife's car.

I love the tiny minimate head that comes with newt. I may have to get multiples and make little bodies for dolls and babies.

I love all the pics of the Marvel minimates, but now I have a question, when do we get Banshee, Black Knight, Mojo, Wrecker, Hydro Armor Iron Man, amongst all the other Wave 50 choices??? I remember Zach hinting after the results were announced that may see very few of the losers in other waves and now we have Steve Rogers, Falcon, Winter Soldier, and Baron Von Strucker coming before or soon after Wave 50. I know plans change over time, I just hope more of the losers are on their way now.

I'm also jonesing to see the Aliens minimates. I hate that they won't let anyone take pics of them.

This will be Zik's only appearance. After this, Zik is in the wind, figuratively speaking. Legend will tell of a Battle Beast who was more Minimate than dragonfly, and when the line reaches its 50th wave, perhaps we will have a fan poll in which people can choose which early Beast they want to see remade using the new "living plastic" technology, and Zik may well be that Beast. At that point, we will use the comic book art (concept below) and do him properly. But until then, you'll have to find things to love about this Zik. I know I have.

After reading this, several questions just sprouted up, like just how big will Zik be in the Battle Beast comic. I'm going to gujess he will become the main antagonist, making this lone minimate until the 50th wave very ironic. Also, will getting the Samurai Lizard go the easy way (showing up in wave 3) or the hard way (a lengthy campaign here on MMMV ala Kang lead by b00sted where Samurai Lizard shows up in a box set around wave 44)?

Now Zach, how far are you guys on the living plastic technology? I mean if we go by the Marvel minimate waves, that means we are only ten years away, but if we're talking about the Battle Beasts license and its wave 50, we may have to give a little more leeway (say 20-25 years away). Can we also confirm from this that minimates will be even more stylized by that point, not having any block figure pieces?

I think Antman II and Hank Pym look great and really match the comics well. I also like the detail on the Kree Sentry as it really gives that Kirby feel to it. I haven't gotten the rest as I'm waiting on my Disney packs for them. As for the speculation for other comic properties, I'd love some Grendel minimates.

The Kang squinkie is in the Series 5 big set (good vs. evil series) as one of the hidden ones and I got mine at TRU. I couldn't resist the tiny Galactus in the set and Kang came as a surprise.

If anyone has gotten the new sets of the Marvel Squinkies, Kang is now in another figure form that is not minimates (grrrrr)

For the record it was 'my better half' who came up with the term "Braxton Hicks" when I was discussing Minimates/TRU.com with her last night .....I had never heard of it ,why would I?

Ray's outfit can fit two ghost traps (one on his proton pack and one on his belt).

Slimers proton pack has no closed trap (like Janine, Ray and Egon do), not even a peg for it.

Its weird that Blackie has a face tampo, but no other elements (hands, feet and chest tampo) to make him just a burgular, while Sam Haim underneath everything is a clear orange minimate, but has the skeleton chest tampo.

My Boogie man has a loose head, which makes hime hard to stand even with the stand (massive body + wobbly head = timber!!!).

Yes it is. The harness is similar to the Captain America harness to hold his shield on his back. Its one of the features that make want to get multiples (ghostbusting Spider-Man here we come).

Get yourselves to TRU as the RGB minimates have been found!!!! I got all four at a Little Rock, AR TRU today. From what I could tell, they got one box and the ghosts were only 2 per case with the ghostbusters being 4 per case. Also, watch out on the ghosts as some rubbed the blister and smeared the paint (even with the specialized blisters).

I got these earlier from a local LCS and I have to say I was disappointed that Ben Grimm was not under the Thing's clothes, but after opening all of the packs, I can now see where all the money of this series went. Prof. X's hoverchair is fantastic and when I saw that Warpath still came with his knives, this went from a great pack to a stellar one. Question: Has anyone figured out how to get Prof. X's blanket to sit on his lap in a convincing way? I can get on there (with the suit off), but it just slides off if you look at it wrong.
