  1. loving these stories guys keep them going. Handsomedevil I'll check your bands out mate. Somehow don't think a stylophone will help a lot with chicks, but I'd like it if it did :P

Learnt my first song today, or part of it at least, just been fidling with it till now. Decided to learn kids by MGMT due to the electricy sounds of it which I think match the stylophone

  2. well it's certainly interesting reading peoples stories.

Turtle this is really my first proper try at learining an instrument, had a go at keyboard in school but failed as soon as it came to using two hands, like most people tried a guitar but couldnt get into it. Music is never normally my thing, I focus on my acting and art skills normally but i always wanted to be able to say "Nice to meet you, I play [insert instrument here]" and i feel that the stylophone is genuinely different and interesting

  3. So i've recently decided to learn the stylophone as a method of escapism from school and what not. I decided on the stylophone just to be different, i know a few people who have learnt guitar, drums and one of my teachers has started playing ukelele so i thought i'd take a different approach.

But this got me wondering, do any other verser's play any instruments? Anyone in a band? or do some singing?

Just thought it'd be a good discussion, so what do you think?

  4. its been interesting reading peoples opinions, especially on this whole twilight debate.

as a teenager i do know a lot of girls who like twilight, my last two girlfriends were big fans(one liked comics so she was deemed nedily worthy) personally i agree that twilight is aimed at teenager girls therefore people like us(i think i can say that) probably wont enjoy it, books or films i personally dont enjoy them, it varies to much from the classic vampire and werewolf depiction in my opinion, i prefer vicious bloodsuckers not as others have mentioned pale and sparkly.

on the other hand some recent depictions of vampires have been interesting, let the right one in/ let me in for example i believed were quite interesting. however i have recently been looking into older depictions and i still think bela lugosi's portrayal of dracula still maintains appeal today. irecently watched a documentary (with some guy from buffy, not sure his name but his voice was soothing) exploring the history behind the vampire myth and i think the whole bloated and original aspects couldnt translate to a modern audience thus more recent takes work just as well, and surely werent myths meant to be retold and reimagined?

i hope my insight is helpful in some form, continue the discussion

  5. I had the best Halloween ever!

My LCS guy had the idea to do a no-budget zombie short film on Halloween weekend so he asked who'd volunteer as a zombie. About 30 of his loyal costomers loved to do so and things got serious. A friend of him is a trash-film maker (won best international horror movie at New York Independent Film Fest 2010) and he wanted to shoot this little thingy. There's no real plot (who cares, right?) other than a couple get attacked by the walking dead in a small inner city park and they run for their lives (a guy who tries to help them gets eaten) and when they get surrounded by a zombie horde they make it into the comic shop. The CBG distracts the zombies by handing out free comic books (The Walking Dead) but eventually turns into a zombie, too and the whole horde enters the shop and feasts. End.

Filming this was a blast! The make-up team did a great job and the whole bunch of people walking around as zombies caught the attention of a lot of people walking by. (Some were scared, some ignored us, but most were really amused and kept watching. Even a polcie car stopped and the officers took pictures with their cell phone.)

Great, great fun. As I said, this is just a next-to-nothing-budget production and it was all about the fun we had. I'll gladly sow you the video when post-production is finished.

Here's a pic, but you can view a few more over at my blog. (It's in German and you won't understand a thing, but I'm sure you're able to click through those pics. )
