I have yet to see wave 9 anywhere near me (Roanoke VA), but the store closest to work had a shipment of wave 10 today.
There were 4 packs, but the Dracula/Crimson Widow set was missing. In its place was a second Adam Warlock/Rocket pack. Another interesting thing was that the sets weren’t ringing up. The cashier had to have a coworker go back and check the price. I didn’t check to confirm this but it struck me afterwards that it was weird because I thought all the Walgreens mm sets had the same sku...?

No, you’re right. If Sonic, Tails, and Eggman weren’t enough to push the set, Knuckles wouldn’t make any difference.
I guess I’m still just hurting a bit from the way it played out. As a fan of the Genesis era, I would have been perfectly content to get Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Eggman (Robotnick). The other characters are superfluous from my perspective (I hadn’t even heard of Amy until they made a Minimate of her).

It isn’t looking likely.
There hasn’t been any official word, but Zach has been making comments that give the impression the first box set performed very poorly.
maybe if they had put Knuckles in there instead of Amy, it would have fared better ??♂️

Most of the line was exclusive to a retailer as well.
I'm not an RPG player so I can't say for sure but I doubt you could convince too many to play with minimates instead of miniatures.
An RPG may not work, for exactly that point. But I’ve long held to the thought that Minimates would make a great base/gimmick for a board game of some sort. Maybe a TCG or something akin to Munchkin
As was mentioned previously, the customizable nature of the figures is a huge draw. and they could thrive off of regularly released expansions. It’s just a matter of finding the right gameplay mechanics and character/IP/theme. Maybe Battle Beasts or Calico Jack?

these look pretty neat! So when do these come up for pre order like at Lukes or BBTS?
Luke has them up for preorder here

Those are absolutely fantastic

That movie was filled with so many missed opportunities to do something remarkable. Instead they played it safe and made a predictable, by-the-numbers hero origin.
but specifically in regards to Ronan, yeah it was a lame wasted cameo... unless they were setting him up for another movie. It just felt to me like his whole comment about being back for her was the lead-in to a future story. Maybe the Captain Marvel sequel? They could easily fill a trilogy with all that she might have been up to between 1995 and 2019

Yeah, Into the Spiderverse just won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature

Ditto on not hating movie waves; I personally am just more excited to get comic based stuff. Especially when they’re selections from childhood favorite storylines or teams.
I honestly never thought we’d be getting a Strong Guy Minimate, and I’ve always loved that Cyclops costume.
These last two comic-based waves are bringing back a lot of the excitement I had felt in the earlier days of collecting this line

We'll see how the Sonic box set ultimately does, Set 2 is currently a question mark.
I am in love with the Sonic Minimates that we have, and would feel a constant nagging frustration if we never got Knuckles. I do understand the whole dynamic of sales numbers, but if the worst case scenario occurs and DST decides against a second box set, would it be feasible to get a 2-pack with Knuckles and Super Sonic? Maybe as a con exclusive or Walgreens or something along those lines?

Has anyone tried to make any other cosmic beings? Like the Inbetweener or Zeus or the Living Tribunal? Just wonderin.
Luke just posted that his next Custom Preorder will be the In-Betweener. He also teased his next Character Cut-Out in his latest newsletter and the glimpse looks an awful lot like it's going to be The Living Tribunal

No Far From Home wave or box set that I am aware of. 77 is our de facto Far From Home wave.
I meant both, that we weren't making a new best of wave (because as said previously, the two Greatest Hits waves covered pretty much everything except the FF) AND that it didn't seem like we were making more of the two Greatest Hits waves. They presumably served their purpose, and I think sets going forward will try to include more main characters -- or perhaps it could be said that more Marvel characters are becoming brand names, making Best of Waves unnecessary.
Zach, I really appreciate your responses and your willingness to engage with our questions ??
On the topic of MCU Minimates; I’m curious about Avengers: End Game. Will we be getting any offerings for that movie?

... a "YAY! The FF is BACK!" assortment with the whole family, some new supporting characters, and a kick-ass BAF!
I am holding out hope for this exact scenario. Those new costumes would make a great base for a wave. But I would also flip out over a ‘classic uniform’ box set ala that ‘Best of’ Reed...

Mysterio's Cape looks like the one the old Moon Knight came with and also Betsy Braddock. Those figures had like no articulation so I'm hoping the cape is different
You bring up a good point. The articulation will be somewhat limited... my earlier statement should probably be amended to something like ‘this new sculpt will allow for an improved range of motion beyond what the original figure had’. There will still certainly be limitations on posability even with the changes this new cape has implemented
1 hour ago, MiniFiend UK said:One thing that I did notice is Mysterio's bowl an cape seems to be one piece on this figure so maybe the whole thing slips over a head block? Or it could just be the way the sample is produced no matter either way.
Yeah, it’s hard to say for sure with just one prototype image to work from, but I am also under the impression that it is one solid piece that will likely be a slipover
-
Do you mean they’re done being utilized as an evergreen product? or does “done for now” mean that there won’t be any new assortments beyond what is already available...?

Unless we're not getting a movie Mysterio from the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home flick, I see no reason to include yet another comic-based version, especially when specialty just got one eleven years ago.
I was a fan of the TRU update from a few years back, but it was just a repaint of the original sculpt. This new one has a whole new cape/helmet piece that looks likely to give his arms more clearance for a greater range of motion

Where the heck is that Miles from?
It's apparently Miles' very first (very short-lived) outfit:

This is the perfect wave to go with Luke's box set from awhile back. Is the Spider-Slayer supposed to be Jameson or something? Looks an awful lot like him
Yep, it's Jameson

March of Minimates
in Custom Creations & Artwork!
Posted · Edited by Donny B
I first heard about March of Robots back in 2018 and thought to myself, "that would be fun to do, but with Minimates".
Fast forward to Inktober 2019 and I finally found the motivation to make it happen.
So here's the premise:
March of Minimates is an Instagram based art challenge, with the goal of creating one Minimate image each day throughout the month of March.
For me, it's drawing. That's where it all started... I wanted to take the month of March and dedicate it to creating 31 Minimate drawings.
But why stop there? Minimates are fun to photograph, too. There are a ton of Instagram accounts with incredible photos and digital edits. Plus there are tons of talented customizers and decal designers and diorama builders... why not open March of Minimates to every creative person who loves the brand? So that's what I'm doing.
March of Minimates is launching March 1st on Instagram
Upload your images to Instagram, tag them with #MarchofMinimates, and follow the IG page for updates and contests @MarchofMinimates
Weekly contests with prizes from Luke's Toy Store
