  1. Good point, Nessex and MiniFiendUK. I admit I haven't really been keeping track of the wave numbers as I only pay attention to Spidey-related 'mates. In that case, my two revised lists would be my "wishlist(s)", with a bit of bias towards the HAMMER Soldier wish-wave.

Also digging that Juggy redo, fwoosheyman. I wanted to put him in my list too but I wanted to get a Rhino first.

  2. Technically Back in Black Spidey, Spymaster, etc. weren't army builders. :) If we were to adhere to "Army Builder" rules then my list would be something like this:

    Bleeding Edge Iron Man/Updated Rhino

    Secret Avengers Steve Rogers/Modern Falcon

Maria Hill/Iron Spider with back appendages

Variant: Sharon Carter/Iron Spider with back appendages

    OR

    Negative Zone Spider-Man/Updated Rhino

    Secret Avengers Steve Rogers/Modern Falcon

    Maria Hill/HAMMER Soldier

    Variant: Sharon Carter/HAMMER Soldier

  3. Negative Zone Spider-Man/Updated Rhino

    Secret Avengers Steve Rogers/Modern Falcon

Bleeding Edge (Heroic Age) Iron Man/Maria Hill

Variant: Bleeding Edge (Heroic Age) Iron Man/Sharon Carter

  4. Thanks karamazov80! I used to have Civil War Spider-Man but I sold him a year ago when I thought I could quit collecting Minimates (HA HA HA LOOK HOW THAT TURNED OUT). I might re-do this in the future (my unsteady hand is to blame for the pain inconsistency in some areas) but for now I'm happy with this. I also like how my custom doesn't have the oversized noggin due to the slip-on mask (and how the mask-eyes begin halfway up his face).

youbastards, I used Citadel Mithril Silver as the base coat. It came out so well that I almost turned this into a Silver surfer instead. Haha. Now I know what to do when I make Molten Man. Thanks again!

  5. I'm sorry, I feel like an idiot but I think this is the best place to ask, and I think I HAVE to ask.

I've been trying to make an Iron Spidey, and I can't paint it properly. I've tried twice, with both attempts ending in bitter failure.

So this is what I do: I take apart the Minimate - head, torso, arms, legs and feet - and coat them with Tamiya Chrome Silver. It's tricky to apply but it dries evenly. The problem starts when I start applying Tamiya Clear Red after the coat dries. It...kinda melts the silver coating, turning it into a gummy mess that sticks to my brush and slides off the figure.

What should I do? Is it the paint? Should I sandpaper the Minimate first? I never encountered this problem when I was still customizing 4" and 6" figures. Any help would be appreciated. :(

  6. Hey guys. Which Minimates have clear blue arms? I really need them for my custom Hydro-Man (as I don't want to shell out so much money for him), and I was hoping you guys could help me figure out a cheaper alternative to Iceman. Help would be much appreciated.
