  1. I don't chase after the super rare collector items like gold or silver spidey, so most of *my* must have higher priced items have been found. (Wave 28 Deadpool, Dark Pheonix, Firestar) All in all, in my first year of collecting, I've gotten pretty lucky finding things at a affordable (to me) price.

Filling out my DC Minimates collection has been far more hit and miss. Especially Wave 7, those keep eluding me.

  2. Odd that the card back photos are from the TRU versions. I'm liking the red MAX jet more than the black, I might snag it if I see it.

Wasn't there another version of the Delorean that's been shown? That one looks identical to the TRU version, aside from Marty being in his rad. suit.

  3. Fan-fricken-tastic. I was just kicking myself for missing out on a relatively cheap FF box set the other day. Will most definitely be snagging these when they arrive.

I concur on the need to do Marvel Best Of waves, the latest Ghostbusters one is entirely made up of sets I missed the first time around, it'll be nice getting a little closer to being caught up on those.

It's especially cool that Sue appears to come with both phasing and non-phasing body parts. The Atlantean soldier appears to have one of Cable's guns, sort of an odd choice.

  4. The TRU closest to me (Olympia, WA) had six each of the HB & Lockjaw sets this week. Looks like these are definitely moving out of the hard to find stage.

I left them all but snagged the Iron Man wave 2 exclusives that I needed and a lone Old Man Logan& Hawkeye pack that had been warming the pegs for ages.

  5. One more thing.. I have never been able to find a place to buy the BTTF2 4-pack with yellow coat doc and future shoes/jacket Marty. Anyone have any leads on this?

My "local" comic shop has that set hanging on the pegs for $15, looks like it's been collecting dust for awhile.

/local for me is an hour away

  6. I've actually modeled my own Minimates auctions after your method, so I'm in support of the individual listings. As someone who also buys a lot through various ebay auctions, I tend to completely ignore large lots.

However in the case of a highly recognizable set (eg...a complete team or hard to find wave) it's more financially beneficial to go that route.

I feel for you on the 91 pictures and listings part. I had 12 to list this weekend. By the time I had decent photos of each and the descriptions built, it was so late in the evening I risked having the auction end when most interested parties would be in bed. A lot of pre-planning would be needed.

  7. Good luck; Southcenter (Tukwila) still didn't have any today.

As luck would have it, my brother drives by the Bellevue TRU on his way home. He snagged the last Hulkbuster/GammaHulk set for me, no Betsy/Lockjaws left though.

  8. Found them @ TRU in Bellevue, WA

Stilt Man rocks, haven't opened the exclusives yet. No QC problems, though, on the ones I've opened.

Awesome news, hopefully that means the TRU in Olympia will have some when I get in there to check this weekend.

  9. As another Hoosier, I wanna say I'm damn lucky to at least LIVE in Beech Grove, which is in the center of Indianapolis, which is at the center of Indiana. I have three TRUs that are a semi-reasonable distance from me. One time, I went to all three looking for a Transformer. She was packed with ONE other. At both that had recieved the case, I saw a SHITLOAD of the one I didn't want, but NONE of the one I did. Tell me that isn't scalpers.

Animated Arcee? She and Cybertron Ratchet are 3 each to a case, but the demand for her was huge at first.(including with scalpers) Now it's not too hard to find her at a decently updated TRU. Ironhide and Rodimus are going to be even worse come August.
