I would be concerned to see the line grow too much and suffer the same fate as Super-Hero Squad did. When they launched the SUper-Hero Squad cartoon they flooded the market, clogging the pegs. Within 3 waves, they lost half of the retailers that were carrying the line. Within two years the line dwindled down to 6 new releases a year and now you are lucky to get one new character somewhere in that assortment. I love the fact that DST has gotten so heavy with the accessories in the more recent 2 & 4 packs of Minimates. They seem to be "growing" without gaining more exposure. They are providing far more value than both Habro's Marvel lines and Mattel's DC lines combined. I love the more complex bases, extra heads and accessories PACKED into each pack while continuing to keep the prices low. I fear more exposure might work against us. Sure, I want DST to succeed but I want the line to go on for ANOTHER 10 years. Can you imagine how many more mates that would mean????!!!!!

I'd buy an Inferno and a Mutant Massacre set.

I'd LOVE a Tigra minimate, hopefully she will come with a West Coast set so I can get Mockingbird out of the way too!

I almost got the X-Factor set this weekend, but all four of their sets had bad paints apps in some way or another (just on Scott and Jean of course).

And I saw that Target is releasing an Avengers movie set with all 8 main characters. It's nice that they're releasing that now, long after they've almost all been in single pack form.

It's actually great timing for the release of the DVD so the kids can get the team all in one shot.

BBTS got in their shipment of the Kraven/Beast wave, but their pre-orders are sold out. Hopefully these will hit shelves soon also. It's about time Hasbro got some new stuff out. I'd never have guessed wave one of 2012 wouldn't be on shelves until August.

edit: I'm also seeing the wave of Jubilee/Professor X/Blaastar on ebay also, so it looks like Hasbro is trying to catch up.

The Avengers movie stuff delayed all of the Marvel Universe waves, this is why wave one is shipping so late in the year.

I don't like Snowbird's face either, but I think this pic is one of those Photoshop deals, and I always like the production samples much better. I'm not sure about Sasquatch either, but, again, I'm sure that will change.

Yeah, nice that they're just going ahead and giving us the team basically at once. We go from zero to ten Alpha Flight members! Like I said a few pages ago, Talisman's probably the biggest remaining omission. I wouldn't mind seeing Aurora in her yellow and white outfit, but I'm not dying for it either. Good work DST!

I'm DYING for Aurora in her yellow and white outfit!!!!!! I plan to have a custom made if it can be safely assumed she won't be made. DST has made some really obscure Marvel costumes throughout the years (Puffy sleeved Psylocke anyone?) so I'm gonna wait a while but I would LOVE to have her. The tampo on my Northstar's chest is smeared and looks like they didn't finish painting it! sadness! Outside of a few really rubbery arms on the movie Avengers I've NEVER had issues with quality on my Minimates. Oh well, I guess I'll pose Aurora flying in front of him so it's not noticable.

Doesn't DST usually (always) do 2 SDCC exclusive Minimate boxed sets? SO it SHOULD BE safe to assume there is another 4 pack waiting to be announced with Aurora, Sasquatch, Shaman & Snowbird? And then the TRU exclusive Heather and Box would round out the team (unless you count Talisman . Just as a refresher, since these were shown at NYCC, here are Box and Vinidcator:

Has anyone else noticed how sales of this last wave (with Psylocke and Storm) has slowed down? Iron Fist, Thor, Storm AND Psylocke are pegging warming at various different retailers.

Actually, maybe just a half dozen, if Miles/Cap, Rhino/IM, and Box/Vindicator are a TRU wave. Still, though. (breathe. breathe.)

And Havok/Storm are in that wave, right? We've seen waves through the summer, so there's got to be room for at least one more wave. And with Vindicator/Box, how can we not suspect an Alpha Flight box set sometime this year. It's just too random.

Look how long it took to get the rest of the Outback X-Men team AFTER the TRU Betsy (with Lockjaw) was released so Alpha Flight may or may not be this year. AND we STILL have yet to see the remainder of the Inhumans outside of Lockjaw and Black Bolt so you never know!

PsyGuy strikes again, he made me this beautiful Wonder Girl Donna Troy Minimate. I believe the design is from Luke's page but I could be wrong, anyhow I LOVE IT!

I never imagined that Boom Boom would ever get made especially not in her pink and yellow uniform which didn't last long. That is one set I may have to have multiples of. Plus the completion of the New Mutants team! With this release all that's needed is another Original X-Force Box Set of Warpath, Sunspot, Siryn, and Stryfe or Copycat.

Isn't the TRU Warpath that comes with the hard to find X-Factor Archangel considered the X-Force Warpath?

I procrastinated on picking this Danger Room diorama from Luke's and I missed out on it, TWICE! He re-released it with a Battle Damaged look and I STILL flaked (I prefer this version). I've been wanting it ever since. LUCKILY someone posted it on eBay and I snatched it up!! The New Mutants are a pretty small team and they look great in it AND there's still room for Dani (below Magneto) and Magma (next to Cypher) if and when they make them, without it looking overcrowded. I LOVE this playset! Thanks Luke!

Great collections guys. Has anyone found any vendors online who sell tiered risers that can fit in display cases that would be suitable for minimates? I've been looking but havent had any luck.

Try the container store ( I believe its ContainerStore.com but if not just simply Google it). I picked up three enclosed 3 tiered displays for my Minimates there.

I can't find these ANYWHERE in NJ. Anybody else have any luck in Jersey with these?

TRU's in my area are choking on the FF wave. I wonder if this is why TRU put them up for sale on their website so early. Maybe once the stores do inventory I'll see them in NJ.

My favorite incarnation of X-men, the Outback team, waiting for Longshot (and possibly Madelaine Pryor if I get bored enough!!) Storm is made from a 90's Storm's hair on a TRU mohawk Storm body. Colossus is the Giant Sized X-men minus the shoulder harness and I added a New Mutants Cannonball belt. Dazzler & Rogue customs courtesy of PsyDuck! Now, with a little patience Longshot will finish the team.

I hope I do this right!! Sorry for the blurry, crappy photos. I just moved and can't find my camera cable to upload pics from my camera so I used my phone instead. I wanted to share how the custom Dazzler and Psylocke that Psyduck made for me look in my collection.

I can say that I am now the proud owner of 3 of Psyguy's pieces and they are absolutely beautiful! He made me a 1st costume Psylocke (One that I doubt they will EVER get around to and even if they do, she is worth it!) A Dazzler; I'm sure when they get around to Dazzler she will hair similar to Rachel Grey since this is the hairstyle that she is most commonly depicted in. I prefer her in her Outback look and the longer hair is just perfect. He also made me a body for an Outback Rouge. I have a head from the first Rogue with the smirk and a spare Beast's hair that I am going to use to complete her. Now all I need is a Longshot and my Outback X-men will be complete! This is by far my favorite era of the X-Men and am so happy to have them in Minimate form.

PsyGuy's communication, professionalism and work are top notch! If you are looking for custom 'Mates, this IS your guy! The painting is clean and is pretty durable. (I've been playing with them since I got them!) In my opinion, these look professionaly made. I hope to be able to post pics with them intergrated into my collection by this weekend. THEY LOOK AMAZING!!!!!!!!

I hope Magneto comes with both the helmet from San Diego AND the hairpiece. I'm excited for these!

Is there a pic of the Apocalypse mate anywhere?

I was at the mall tonight and was surprised to see a TRU. I have never seen a TRU Express in a mall. I couldn't find any minimates (or helppful employees). Has anyone else had luck at a TRU Express like this?

I had A TRU Express in a mall in NJ around Christmas time. They had the Old Man Logan and Hawkeye and the Silver Surfer exclusive sets. I'm not sure if all of the Express store carry them but this one had Mates. Hope this helps.

Finally scored the Betsy/Lockjaw and Hulkbuster IM/Hulk two packs this weekend in Central NJ! They look great! I wish Betsy had a butterfly instead on the psi blades since these are more Kwannon accessories than Betsy but I'm still excited to add her to my collection!
