  1. I pre-ordered the Daredevil/Moon Knight 2-pack. I'm strongly considering the Black Panther/Storm one, while the Wolverine/Hydra soldier one is kinda iffy. I already have five Wolverines, with more on the way, so it's not like I'm hurting for any. :P

  2. A couple figures I always wanted was the Galimimus and Utahraptor, but could never find them in the store.

I got the Utahraptor for Christmas when I was 9. I found the Galimimus in stores once - and only once - at WalMart, and my mother was gracious enough to buy me one. Thanks, Mom! :)

Nowadays, the Gallimimus is ultra-rare, and ultra-expensive, as is the Baryonyx. I paid almost $50 for a used Baryonyx (great condition, though), so I can't even imagine how much it would be in mint condition.

I wouldn't say "collector" as much as "appreciate the well-played-with toys i have from when I was a kid". I'm upset that Hasbro sent Jurassic Park back to TRU, and they're using the awful AWFUL JP3 toys. Chaos Effect was way better than that. There's speculation that they are doing the toys because they're about to lose the license, same as they did with Toy Story.

There's also a company out there called Papo that makes vinyl static figures. But they look straight out of the movie. it's amazing.

The JP3 toys were okay, IMO. Their only flaw was that they were just too darn fragile. The human figures' hands had a nasty habit of breaking off too easily.

The Papo figures look simply awesome. I bet they cost an arm and a leg, though! :(

  3. I like some horror (like Alien and Jaws), but I am not a fan of the super-slasher/ultra-violent horror that seems to be all the rage these days. I find it pretty disturbing.

Torture porn disgusts me as well. It's all about bloody style over substance. Heavy on gore, light (very light) on plot. One of the great things about older horror movies (the Universal classics of the 1930s, Psycho, the original Halloween) is that they prove that you don't need buckets of blood and guts to make a great horror movie.

  4. ...and which one(s) are your favorite? Which set do you like? (Marvel, DC, Indymates, Lord of the Rings, Street Fighters, etc.)

Okay, by Christmas I should have about 72... my favorites are going to be Death Archangel, Apocalypse, Chun-Li, Taskmaster, Deathstroke, Green Arrow, and (any) Captain America Minimates.

My favorite series is probably Marvel, because not only do they have cool looking 'mates, but they are awesome and I grew up with Marvel.

    How 'bout all of you?

Wish I could find Taskmaster. I tried amazon.com, but every time I searched for it, nothing even remotely related to it came up. Likewise, it's sold out in every online store I've checked. I'm very reluctant to try eBay. I've been ripped off so many times, it's not even funny. I'll win an auction, make my payment, and never receive the item in question, or even a reply from the seller. It's infuriating.

  5. Don't be embarassed, Pokemon is an amazing game. In fact, I still play Gold and Silver because those two are my favorites of all time. Honestly, they're the best ones.

I agree 100%! Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver will be arriving on the DS in March next year (they're basically souped up versions of Gold and Silver with new features, etc.). I plan to get both. :)

  6. I have 10 so far:

    • Deadpool & Special Ops Wolverine
    • Logan & Sabertooth
    • Origins Wolverine & Agent Zero
    • Battle Damaged Wolverine & Gambit
    • WWII Wolverine & Final Battle Deadpool

In addition, I will most likely be getting the Dark Avengers Minimates (both sets) and possibly the Iron Man and/or Incredible Hulk movie version 'mates for Christmas. Also, I recently ordered a bunch online. Hopefully, they will be arriving late November/early December, if not sooner.

  7. That sounds familiar. Which issue was that in?

Was during the Kree/Skrull war storyline (which surprisingly showed very little in the way of Krees actually fighting Skrulls). I'll check when I get home.

edit: Google searched it; issue #94

Haha, I was thinking of something completely different and unrelated. Thanks, though. :P

  8. I found this pic a while ago. For those of you currently in a conservative workplace (or of a prudish mindset), you probably just want to skip that link altogether. :nono:

I know, I know, that just makes it more tempting. But I will not be held responsible for any unemployment compensation or brain-scrubbing kits needed as a result of viewing that image. Click at your own risk.

    He looks severely constipated.

  9. I just finished reading the comic with the first appearance of the Mandroids. They didn't fare very well against the Avengers.

Supposedly they would have been able to take out even Thor, but Tony Stark, having created them, knew their weaknesses, and apparently communicated these weaknesses to Iron man.

That sounds familiar. Which issue was that in?
