Don't know exact numbers, but there are no Gators left in the office. Some staff members have one, I don't. Gave my only one (gold, I think) away in a contest. First Gator was silver, at NYTF 2010. Maybe 200 of those? C2E2 and SDCC, maybe 600 each? The Carry Case one, I have no idea, but maybe a similar number. The red Vorin promo, we made 600.

If you're lucky enough to live in USA then I guess comics stores are the best way. For international buyers like me there still ebay or well known online comics sellers.

The Variant cover for issue #2 would be from Jeff Zornow. It seems that there won't be a free figure this time, just the 2 covers.

Playing with the grey Vorin

I have finally receive my Vorins so first thing: thanks Zach (DST) for giving those for me. Thanks Marty (TGB) for sending me the figures overseas.

My first impression is that the figure is much more impressive in hands than what you could expect. The sculpt is pretty damn good. I can't wait for the full painted release which will show every details of the sculpt. I have been playing with my clear red Vorin for the last 2 days and I love it. Some people have had issue with parts falling apart but mine has no problem. I have removed and put back parts a lot of time and they still stay at their place. There are more pics of the Vorin at my blog: Dragonautes2010 It's in french but you will be able to look at the pic at least.

We have the trademark on the name, Arnim. We will not be affected. Also, our toys will be better.

I don't know if your toys will be better but they will be different. So you're right when you say that they won't be affected by the new Takara line. Both look very good and there is enough space for the 2 lines. I wish my best to both so I will have new great figures to buy for years.

So 3 different covers. The hunt will be fun.

Waiting for the Vorin to arrive at home I played with the gators : Gators garden invasion

I was talking about the very first gator revealed back in 2009 during the SDCC. One was displayed with the now canceled Laboratory playset. It was more yellow than gold.

As we are talking about prototypes do you know Zach how many of the first shown gator (the yellow one) exist ? Are they all securly kept in your office ?

@youbastards: Were the kids at the panel interested by the Battle Beasts ?

I read on another board that the BB promo went very fast. Can you confirm the great success of the line ? I read that they last only 1 hour.

The first sellers always try to get a huge amount for the promo but in just a few days we would see a lot for less. It happened for every convention exlusives.

LOL, I just had a chance to look through the promo stuff Zach gave me for the MMMV contest, looks like there are at least 2 promos to track down...

This one is far better than the clear one! If anybody in Chicago can get one or anything Battle Beasts related for me I would be very gratefull.

Will we get 2 new Battle Beasts lines ? Or could it be a collaboration beetwen DST and a japanese company ?

According to the Facebook DST page we should get an announcement before the end of the countdown. Then we would be able to see the result of the announcement the day the countdown end. Only a few days left and maybe announcement in just a couple of hours.

They now have a facebook and a twitter dedicated to the line.
