WOOT! I just realised i can FINALLY take someone (Domino) off my Top 10 most wanted signature block!
right on, man. good for you, nessex!
as for myself, i was sort of hoping for an "old school" new mutants box set and then a couple of TRU 2-packs to complete the original team. i'm happy for all the fans of the 90s x-books, but i was gone from mainstream superhero funnybook collecting at that time... so i have no real feel (or in some cases, no basic knowledge whatsoever) for most of these characters.

I had a brainstorm today: What about The Agents of Atlas?
They've been getting a huge push from Marvel of late, have a fun toy-etic cast (a giant monkey and Robot, come on!), and they're apparently fan favorites.
Check it: SDCC Exclusive - Jimmy Woo (the special agent), Venus, M-13 (the robot), and Marvel Boy
TRU Follow-up - Namora and Gorilla Man
Bloomers! Instant success. Right?
hey, sounds good to me.

can you guys tell me more about this version of betsy???
When Psylocke first joined the X-Men she wore this:
As she didn't have physical powers and this is way before she gained her martial arts mastery, she was sort of a liability in battles, so around Uncanny X-Men #232 she donned the suit of armor.
In that issue she was thrown out of a window 3 stories up and was relatively unhurt. She wore this outfit almost the entire time that the X-Men were in Australia in the late 1980's. After she went through the Siege Perilous she was kidnapped by Mandarin and changed into the Asian ninja that we know the best.
hey, thanks for the info! i'm still REALLY rusty when it comes to my early 90s mainstream comicbook knowledge (i stopped reading or collecting marvel AND dc funnybooks around 1990... and i didn't get back into 'em again until around '98 or so).
karamazov: thanks for the link.

I am so psyched for Betsy! I wish they would have used Magdelena's hood and hair piece for this one instead of the pointy Moon Knight hood but, that said I am SOOOOOOOO excited for this one. She is one of my favorite characters EVER!!!! I actually bought an extra Magdelena to do a Betsy custom, now all I have to do is match the cape color to the hood and I'll have a perfect outback Psylocke! yay.
i guess i really don't know the betsy braddock character very well. this is an earlier version than the 90s era one?
can you guys tell me more about this version of betsy???
side note: d'oh! sorry about the double post, gang!

Oh man oh man oh man. I bet noone ever thought it would be possible for us to start building the Pet Avengers team.
A disturbing implication of Lockjaw's bio though: the way it's written, you'd really think he was some poor Inhuman schmuck whose unfortunate Terrigen mutation literally reduced him to being the Royal Family's mutt.
Also, anyone else notice how Stilt Man's helmet looks to be a clever reuse of Yellowjacket's?
re: stilt man's helmet: nice call, bro! it IS a re-use of the yellowjacket mask, ain't it? and i am absolutely LOVING that 'mate... can't wait to get my grubby lil' paws on that bad boy.

Only at low tide.
good 'un! that quip kinda took me by surprise (and since i was drinking a glass of soda at the time i was reading it i was THIS close to doing a classic "spit-take" all over my computer screen. ).
and, yeah: i'm with everyone else on that doombot 'mate--- i sure hope they don't just re-use that crappy, stiff hood/cape from the other 3 dooms. what would be REALLY cool is if we'll be able to use the (hopefully) new sculpted doom parts to make a better version of our regular doctor doom 'mates.

....Lizard's awesome, as long as the factory don't make his tail yellow

Thankyou for your help & I think he would appreciate anything . There are dozens of different titles but I'm only managing to find one or two on US ebay which tends to make the shipping expensive. I can't understand why they are so scarce?
sorry for the delay in my response. i'm still not quite sure exactly what ya mean, though. these are prose collections using marvel characters... and they are all published by boulevard? i'll do a search on amazon.com if you want me to--- they offer good deals on used books, and the shipping is reasonable.
is there any particular character your friend likes best?
just sent you a PM, buttheadsmate.

One of my good friends is also my Marvel comic pimp & he has recently started reading Marvel paper-back novels which are published by Boulevard Books. These are virtually unobtainable in the UK & I was wondering if anybody here has access to these secondhand? Perhaps a collection sitting gathering dust? I'd be happy to strike a deal /trade/pay for these ...PMs welcome. Thankyou.
hey, let me know the names and titles of the books you're looking for, bro... and i'll definitely look around for ya.

I don't know if the TPB is out yet, but if you go to Tales of Wonder, they had the HB for about the price of a new TPB. Its worth a read. Millar is a great writer and JRJR is a great artist. JRJR said that when Millar approached him to do a book called "kick-ass", he was not sure he wanted to be attached to it, but after reading the script, he loved it.
i gotta pick that book up. i never got around to reading the series when it first came out, but the buzz has definitely been really strong on "kick ass".
p.s. i loved John romita, jr.'s artwork on "world war hulk", too. the dude just keeps getting better with age...

welcome aboard!

very cool thread!
and i would definitely buy all 6 of those un-made 'mates (7 counting a comic-accurate version of the blob ).

i'm so glad to hear that the surgery itself went okay!

I can see this kicking off a massive court case a'la Judas Priest.
Backward writing in comics made my Timmy try to blow his brains out with a copy of youngblood number 1!!!

I haven't seen the movie (although I got the book for my kids), but wanted to say my 2 year old calls the movie 'How To Drain Your Dragon' and I think of that everytime I see this thread posted in.

-
pixar level good, eh? wow, THAT'S high praise indeed! now i really wanna see this movie.
but i have a 6 month old baby boy, so i'll just have to wait for it to come out on dvd. ahhh... going to the movies: i vaguely seem to remember how much fun that used to be.
What will the AFX & SDCC exclusive multipacks be??

cool pic! just looking at that picture makes me want the whole crew to get 'mated even more. yep, yep.
y'know, it just struck me that it's been like 27 years or sumpin' since the first issue of "new mutants" hit the stands WAAAAY back in the early 80s. holy shit, i'm gettin' so damn old!
