  1. I've wanted these since 2009. I remember being at Toys R Us getting the DC collectibles Rorschach and the T2: Judgment Day minimates and thinking "why aren't there Watchmen movie minimates".

8 years later and they finally come into fruition. I'll be getting them all. Thank you DST/Art Asylum. Nite Owl and Comedian in particular look fantastic.

Please, please, please let this be the door that opens up to Burton/Keaton Batman and Donner/Reeve Superman WB/DC minimates. I've been waiting for DC movie minimates since 2005 when the Batman Begins C3 line got canned. I'd love a Reeve Superman, Hackman Luthor, Zod, Evil Superman, Clark Kent, '89 suit Keaton Batman, Bruce Wayne, all the variations of Jack Joker, Devito Penguin, Catwoman and the Returns suit Keaton Batman. They'd be so much better than those lousy Mezco Mez-itz things. They'd sell better too.

Fingers crossed, hopefully this is just the beginning, especially since WB is giving the '89 Batman license to a bunch of different companies as of late (Mezco, Jada toys, NJ Croce).

  2. I'd buy every Breaking Bad minimate they could come up with. There's certainly enough characters. With all these other companies like Funko and Mezco getting the rights to licensing, I don't see why Art Asylum/Diamond Select couldn't.

I've been obsessed with the potentional for Breaking Bad toys/collectibles for a while now and even went as far as making a "minifigure" product assortment line for an art exhibition inspired by the minimate design,

Probably going to retrofit a few of these for Better Call Saul. Got that creative itch after seeing last night's episode. Might as well start with Jimny and Mike.

  3. This isn't the same DiFabio I know from another place, is it? Great design work on those characters and boxes. You clearly put a lot of effort into those, and did a nice job capturing likenesses considering the constraints Minimates provide.

    T2 > T1

If only these could be officially released! they're exceptional.

dst needs to SERIOUSLY consider this line.

    SERIOUSLY...

come on DST be the one who knocks!

    oh.

    my.

    god.

    Mind explosion.

    These are AMAZING!

    Great artwork, dude.

Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate the feedback. Yeah, I put a lot of work into designing them and cutting out all the packaging by hand. The RV playset was the most difficult part. The only thing that isn't mine are the three diorama backgrounds, I bought those courtesy of Luke's toy store.

Everything looks amazing, only thing missing is a Badger and Skinny Pete 2pack.

Yup, those got as far as rough drawing sketches (along with Todd/Uncle Jack, Lydia, Gale and Wendy). I had to drop them due to time issues before the show. They'd be a hypothetical "wave ___".

  5. My Toys R Us is full of Wave 9 and the latest Wave 11. I haven't bought minimates in awhile and decided to pick up the new Green Goblin/Spider-Man, Wolverine/Magneto and the Heroes and Adversaries 4 pack (Spider-Man, Venom, Wolverine and Deadpool).

All of them were fine except for the Wave 9 Brown Wolverine and Magneto set I bought. I looked through a bunch that had awful paint jobs on the Wolverine masks and found the perfect one. I open it up and the Wolverine mask would NOT budge or come off. Like wise Magneto's gauntlets wouldn't rotate almost like they were glued to his arms. So I try the old heat and pop method on both, nada. It warped Magneto's arms and made them sticky and the heat put little warps on my Wolverine mask. I tried to gently pry Wolverine's mask off with an x-acto knife and cut part of his mask off and sliced my thumb.

So much for that perfectly painted Wolverine mask. I should have left it alone.

I went back to TRU and it looks like all the sets have been relocated. Now there's a shit ton of Marvel vs. Capcom crap.

Since when has Art Asylum minimates had QC issues? Almost all the ones I've owned have had zero issues. Now, after a few years of not buying them I have a crappy Wolverine, Magneto and a Venom that didn't have any claw hands.

I really wanted this Brown Wolverine and Magneto set too. Damn.

  6. I recently noticed that my Deadpool minimate has trouble standing on my desk. I'm not sure but I'm going to assume this is due to the sculpt of the figures feet. Does anyone else have this problem? Is everyone's Deadpool falling over?

  7. The Hunter Killerfrom the same toyline isn't bad either, but you need to get a stand if you want to put it on display.

Well, there is an official Hunter Killer coming but it's the Hunter Killer Tank.

    DC72851lg.jpg

Just when I thought the line ended. I'm getting a bunch of them. Not for the tank but for the Human Resistance Tech Com Soldier. There's also a Toys R Us exclusive "clean" Hunter Killer Tank with an Endo.

Since they're still pumping these T2 minimates out maybe Dr. Silberman and Liquid Metal T-1000 aren't far off after all.

  8. Finally finished the line. Would be nice to eventually get Silberman and the Liquid Metal T-1000 but that's a small nitpick. We got all the Arnold variations (with an extra Terminator 1 version to boot)

I'm still awaiting my nude T-800 figure, thank you very much. :whistling:

Scracth that, just got an email stating that the Battle Damaged Sarah Connor and Motorcycle Cop T-1000 have been sold out.

Still need that pack, damn it.

  9. Well I ordered them online. Sucks that TRU doesn't carry wave 2, but what are you going to do.

We got all the Arnold variations (with an extra Terminator 1 version to boot), all the T-1000 variations, all the Sarah Connor variations, John Connor (young and adult), the unexpected Miles Dyson, Kyle Reese, and a bunch of Endoskeletons.

As with all minimates, nice little line that was fun to collect. The only thing that I don't get is how rare the adult General John Connor minimate is. I'm really glad that I got two of him without having to resort to paying more than retail.

  10. My wishlist? Batman.

    2-packs

    Batman

    zbatmanminimate2.jpg

    - Batman/The Joker

    - Batman (Battle Damaged)/Viki Vale

    Batman Returns

    zbatmanminimate.jpg

    - Batman (Returns suit)/Bruce Wayne

    - Catwoman/Penguin

    Batman Forever

    zbatmanminimate3.jpg

    - Batman (Regular)/Two-Face

    - Batman (Sonar)/ Robin

    Batman and Robin

    zbatmanminimate4.jpg

    - Batman (Regular)/Robin (Regular)

    - Batman (Ice armor)/ Mr. Freeze

    Batman Begins

    zbatmanminimate5.jpg

    - Batman/Ras Al Ghul (Liam Neeson)

    - Fear Toxin Ghoul Batman/Scarecrow

    The Dark Knight

    zbatmanminimate6.jpg

    - Batman/The Joker

    - Batman (Hong Kong)/Two-Face

    Movie 4-Packs

    Rouges Gallery

    - Riddler (Forever), Poison Ivy (B&R), Bane (B&R), Bank Robber Joker (TDK)

    Gotham Denizens

    - Max Shreck, Bob The Goon, Alfred (TDK) Bruce Wayne (TDK)

Include exclusives and special sets galore. The different Batmen would be like the current Terminators or Kirk, Spider-Man and Wolverine, dominating the sets. Figures like Two-Face, Bruce, Alfred and the Joker have alternate heads and parts to either change them into new suits from different movies (Alfred) or new characters completely (Harvey Dent).

Or if we're going to be strict with this thread and go with 80's only minifigs. I'd just go with Batman (1989) and choose a few other lines.

    - Robocop (Robocop, Murphy, Mutant Thug, Boddicker, Lewis)

    - Scarface (Tony Montana/variations, Manny, Sosa, Lead Assassin who kills Montana)

    - Watchmen, Yeah I know came out this year, but still it's a period piece so why not? (Rorschach, NiteOwl, Comedian, Silk Spectre, Veidt, Dr. Manhattan, NiteOwl I, Silk Spectre I, the list goes on) Other than Batman I can't really think of a better candidate for minimates than Watchmen. So many different, colorful, iconic characters.

  11. So any information on this line? Anyone know when we're going to see John, Sarah Connor, Silberman and the rest of the T-1000 variants?

I have my SDCC exclusive cyberdyne set with AFX preordered so it should only be a matter of time before I get it. Did anyone else preorder them?

Only a few more sets left. Hopefully they get made.

    - T-1000 (Biker Cop) and BD Sarah Connor (TRU Preorder TBA)

    Zminimate_2.jpg

    - Another BD T-800 (?) and John Connor (TRU Preorder TBA)

    zminimate3.jpg

    - Liquid Metal T-1000 (TRU TBA)

    Zminimate_1.jpg

    - Dr. Silberman (TBA)

    - Cyberdyne Smoke Grenade Gun "Uncle Bob" (TBA Unknown)

  12. Would I like to see Salvation minimates? No.

I'm content with their current T2 offerings. I'd rather have General John Connor, Biker T-800, and the T-1000 than Salvation John Connor, Marcus, and Kate Brewster. To me the first two films are more iconic and warrant the stylized minimate figures. Speaking of which, I wish they could delve deeper so they could obtain the T1 licesnse (Imagine a punk Terminator, a better Kyle Reese, Sarah Connor, Police shootout cops and or Lt. Traxler?) but the Flashback Terminator and Kyle Reese are better than nothing.

Salvation was okay to me, but I have no interest in collecting merch from it. The older films are much more interesting in my opinion.

I'm happy with what we have. Here's hoping the current T2 line up goes strong so we can get more mini figs, even obscure ones like the Voights, Tim, and the Pescadero staff.
